The home is an absolute gem! This was our 5th trip to Costa Rica, we typically get to stay for 3-6 weeks at time so we’ve have had the opportunity to experience the country and can tell you that we absolutely loved this home. I’m a bit picky when it comes to cleanliness and this home was one of the cleanest. I read a lot of people in the reviews having some sort of complaint about the road to get to the house…. It was pretty darn easy! I saw a small Nissan Sentra make it’s way up. Definitely don’t recommend doing that but just saying it’s possible. If you’ve ever driven on any type of gravel or dirt road- it will be easy for you. Crossing the streams was actually pretty fun and beautiful! The whole area is beautiful so much so that my wife was literally moved to tears by the stunning views! Two things to consider in booking this home- 1st if you’re looking for more of a party town, super easy access to beaches, or more of hotel/resort style of stay around people. This isn’t the place for you, however…… you can still experience that if that’s what you desire it’s just not close by. 2- If you’re coming to CR to experience its abundance of beauty, waterfalls, beaches, wildlife etc. then what are you waiting for? This home is luxurious, private, remote and has ALL of those things plus some. The owners are fantastic and the property manager can help you with anything you may need. While we were there we didn’t need anything other than more time!

My husband and I enjoyed every minute of staying in this completely private home, in the middle of the jungle! Waking up to the sound of Howler monkeys and so many birds, along with falling asleep to sounds of the rainforest… we couldn’t have asked for more! Having so many amazing restaurants and grocery stores within a 20 minute drive…it was perfect! Thank you for sharing your home with us!!

We spent one week at this gorgeous villa. Myself, my husband, and 2 girls (5 and 8). The entire week was one big adventure! The house is stunning and the location is truly a once in a lifetime experience. It is IN THE JUNGLE. So you HAVE to expect an abundance of wildlife which means many, many insects. I definitely was surprised at how unsealed the house is. There are half inch gaps around the doors and windows. The biggest issue was sugar ants which were RELENTLESS so we didnt eat much at the house. But we just viewed everything as an adventure! Thats why we came, afterall. Adriano and Massi were AMAZINGLY helpful, down to helping us recover our passports we left behind. YES you absolutely need a 4x4 for the drive but its SO fun. You MUST visit the avancari waterfall! Not many chances in your life to have a waterfall all to yourself. And Citrus restaurant down the mountain is one of the best culinary experiences we've ever had (get the guyava sauce!) Eat there early on because youll want to go again! Also, Lalos down the road gave us a wonderful horse ride to the Ojochal waterful. Super nice guys. If you're looking for perfection and total comfort, this house may not be for you. But if you're looking for tranquility and adventure, come to this villa! We never saw the monkeys, only heard them. But we saw toucans, coati, and an ENORMOUS iguana that walzed onto the pool deck! That was a highlight. Thank you for opening your villa to us. A week we wont forget!

This is our second trip to CR and we we’re skeptical of staying in an area so far away. The drive wasn’t bad at all and once we got here we were mindblown. The place is so beautiful it’s almost shocking how little we paid for it. The drive…YES you will need 4x4 vehicle and we thought they were exaggerating until we did it. The drive was one of the most fun experiences of the whole trip. Check out Uvita and what it has to offer. Amazing food, surfing, swimming, drinking and everything else you can think of all within a few miles. OH! And we saw a Mundi in our yard (was awesome). Best place in this whole area and you truly will not regret it as they will take care of you. PS, if you’re in decent shape…recommend the waterfall rappelling tour as it was absolutely incredible

We were really impressed with this house in Ojochal. The pictures really didn't do it justice. The place was extremely private, and the view was tremendous. Also, the property manager was very responsive to our needs. As they mentioned, four wheel drive is pretty much a must to drive to and from this house. We loved our stay and hope to visit again someday.

From the time we arrived in Uvita and picked up the keys at the bus stop, we were so excited to make the last leg of the journey to this beautiful casa tucked away in Avancari. You absolutely need a 4x4, as we experienced several days of moderate rain that degraded the road as well as increased the level of the water crossings. The house……… WOW. It is perfect in every way. Everything we needed for making our own meals and relaxing was there. We spent evenings on the observation deck watching the sun go down and the geckos come out, and we spent the mornings watching the hummingbirds visit us. We saw many beautiful animals on property during our stay, as well as on the path to the Avancari waterfall. We highly recommend their beautiful home! 5+ stars !

We had a great time in Ojochal at Villa Cascades. It was seriously one of the best vacation homes we have stayed in with the perfect mix of modern amenities, great kitchen and indoor and outdoor living spaces, pool, views, short hike to waterfall and centrally located to explore. We had day excursions ranging from Nuayaca waterfalls to Corcovado ending with relaxing sunsets back at the house by the pool. The restaurants in Ojochal are also great and a short drive down the mountain. Thanks to the hosts for a great stay and Costa Rica experience!!

The Villa is very private, had a very well equipped kitchen, beautiful primary bedroom suite with ocean and Mountain View’s. The house was very clean. The pool was a great place to cool off and the nearby waterfall was stunning! We saw toucans and blue butterflies.

Loved the house! Private and peaceful. Perfect place for star-gazing! Not as much wildlife as other places we’ve stayed. Just a few coatis showing up for breakfast.😜. Definitely requires the 4WD as listing mentions. The road up is long and the creek crossings could be very challenging in rainy season but were no problem when we were there. You won’t be disappointed if you stay here!😊

We’ve had a number of disappointments with house bookings over the past few years but Paula and Jeff’s place has restored our faith! The pictures don’t do it justice as it is even nicer than it looks online. So well appointed, beautiful grounds, fantastic upper deck and the views are breathtaking. The pool and separate living quarters are wonderful. Massi was very responsive and helpful and the detailed check in and stay instructions were greatly appreciated. We would,love to come and stay again!

This was our 2nd time renting this beautiful casa ! We love everything about it ! The location,the journey to get there , the views and all the wildlife. We have recommended it to some dear friends who will be renting in the summer. (They should bring us with them 😂) The first time we came alone , this time we shared the experience with a couple we have been friends with for a very long time . They along with us had an incredible time . The weather was 85 and sunny every day . This time we went to the beach . The chairs and towels really came in handy .lots of great places to eat but I also love to cook and found everything I needed at the local grocery stores . The house was equipped with everything as well . Jungle tours had a fun ATV excursion that brings you to a small coffee plantation. The coffee is incredible I bought 5 bags of beans to bring home . I would have bought more but that's all I could carry in my day pack . Zip lining canopy tours was not only an adrenaline rush but a work out as well . The meal they feed you after was delicious. We definitely plan on coming back ! You need to Experience Costa Rica 🇨🇷 Pura Vida !

Beautiful designed home has views from every window. An adventure to drive up the home, a 4x4 is a must. Great detailed directions and easy to get and drop off keys. Wonderful restaurants and National park nearby. The owners were quick to respond with questions and helped us with every request. Thank you for sharing your home!

Beautiful home with pool on a mountain top overlooking the jungle and pacific Ocean. Road up to home requires a 4x4 vehicle. Do not recommend venturing out at night as the road is dangerous. The town , Ojochal, is a foodies paradise!

Loved this property! We went during the rainy season. The electricity would go out for short periods but it was wonderful. The entire place was beautiful. Cannot wait to go back.

There's so much to say about this beautiful property. Where to start? First of all the windows surrounding the property absolutely stunning because you get to see all of Costa Rica's Beauty all around you. The house is very comfortable with a kitchen that you can't not cooking. We also enjoyed the upstairs rooftop balcony with views that were amazing of the coast and the forest period. It allowed us to see and hear all the birds (hawks., toucans, hummingbirds Etc.) coatis and howler monkeys that surrounded us. It was truly Nature's Paradise. The house itself is very very comfortable even when there is no AC in the living room. It's very accessible to ventana's Beach and every other possible type of beach around. The owner and property manager are very responsive when we had questions. Hands down the best place we've ever stayed at and plan to return.

This home is beyond beautiful. We loved staying here. If you are not use to mountain driving this property can be a little tricky to get to. We absolutely love the drive up and down every time. This house has everything and more for your stay. We loved having beach chairs and coolers (hard and soft). We had our own travel towels but it was nice to have ones provided for the pool. The outdoor shower was so nice to wash our feet and sandals off every day. We’re so thankful for the air conditioning in the bedrooms. It was soo hot. It was nice to have a place to cool down. We did feel there needed to be more hooks or towel racks in the the bathrooms especially in the casita. Maybe some drying racks would be helpful. It was nice to have king beds for the 2 couples. However the beds weren’t super comfortable. The house is fully stocked with everything we needed. The veiw is awesome! It was so nice to sit out and look at all the wildlife. The toucans are beautiful. The howler monkeys are a bit noisy in the morning. The cicadas (I think that’s what they were) were crazy loud but only for a few hours in the evening. The grasshoppers are ginormous. Don’t miss going to the waterfall. It is a steep hike but worth it. Jeff & Paula we can not thank you enough for sharing your gorgeous home with us!! Paula was so great to communicate with before our travels. The info Massi sent was perfect! Pictures helped a lot with directions. We just had the best time at this house! It was truly a dreamy vacation. Please don’t think twice about staying here! I would book this place again in a heartbeat! Pura Vida!!!!!

It was a great place to bring my parents. Need 4 wheel drive, but being up in the mountains was well worth it. A great property, would love to come back!

Villa Cascadas is a beautiful home and just as depicted in the photos. We were a party of four and everyone was extremely comfortable. The views are amazing. This was our 7th visit to CR and we have been to many places. We were a bit disappointed that we did not see much wildlife during our week, but that can vary, I'm sure. Because the house is situated so high up the mountain, we were in cloud cover every morning until about noon, when the clouds moved down the hill. This made for a cold swimming pool. Again, this may vary too. The road is definitely a challenge and you absolutely must have 4WD. All in all, we had a nice visit and the management company was excellent.

We enjoyed our stay at this location. The view is amazing and the calm and serenity of the setting is unmatched. House is well designed with separate sleeping accomodations on either side of the pool and common living. Beds are very comfortable and good quality. Kitchen is large and well appointed. Only one negative was the living room sitting is uncomfortable and cheap in quality and not enough sitting for a family of 6. That would be the only necessary upgrade needed for this great home. Good internet service. Will definitely rent again. Upper roof terrace with BBQ is great as well but not enough good quality seats. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Access is better with a 4x4 although we made it without any problem with a 2x4 SUV.

We live part time in Costa Rica Central Valley. We enjoy escaping to the beach/jungle from time to time and we chose Villa Cascada and wow I’m glad we did. This home has a very modern open concept layout with two guest rooms separate from the main house across the pool which is great for families and friends. May not be ideal for families with small children. The views from the Pool area and the rooftop deck and bbq area are amazing. We were told by the owners that a 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended as there is rough terrain and a creek that must be crossed to get to the home. In rainy season that creek could rise which it did and we had to wait for it to recede. No problem we had everything we needed. We had such a pleasant stay thank you for opening your home to us

This is one of the rare times that the property was even better than the pictures!! We didn’t want to leave. Needing 4wheel drive to get there is no joke but we loved being up in the rain forest!!! We will definitely be back.

This is a gorgeous home nestled in the mountains with the rain forest on the front side and a spectacular ocean view from the rear. Unfortunately even paradise has issues, we lost water pressure for days but I was told that that is just part of the experience. Unfortunately the hot water heater was not functional which denied us warm water at the showers and wash sinks. Well I complained to Massi The property manager he promised to do everything he could do to remedy this situation but unfortunately we were without hot water for our showers, Not a problem if you like ice cold showers - I don’t. All of the upper windows at a height of approximately 10 feet were left open to allow a crossbreeze but unfortunately the humidity which was expected was about 100% and without a ladder which would be needed to shut these windows it was extremely hot in the kitchen, the common areas and the bathroom of the main house. It would’ve been nice to utilize the air conditioning in the master bedroom area which I’m fairly confident would have cooled this entire area. With a few minor adjustments this home could be paradise on earth but for our week in Costa Rica it was uncomfortable and hot and when we communicated these issues it was as if it was the norm and part of the jungle experience! I would definitely consider rebooking this home if the property we’re under a property management team that cared about their clients concerns and had the desire to remedy these concerns in a timely fashion!

What an amazing adventure! We flew into San Jose and proceeded to Jaco for a few days . I definitely recommend making the trip to Ojochal in the day time . Pick up of the keys in Utiva was simple . Grab your supplies down the road on the left is a huge very clean supermarket. Shop there ! The villa was well equipped, clean and absolutely beautiful! The pool was awesome and just sitting outside looking towards the coast would mesmerize me for hours ! The relaxation I had been looking for ! We ate a few meals in Utiva but once we found the other supermarket I was able to prepare most meals at the villa . The wildlife there was phenomenal. We saw toucans , a coati and tons of hummingbirds ! Our last few days we were spent relaxing and enjoying the troops of monkeys that filled the trees around us! Absolutely the best ! We can’t wait to come back and bring our older children next time ! We feel very comfortable getting there and back ! Thank you for letting us use and enjoy your wonderful home! Ron and Lisa

This is a spectacular home in a spectacular setting. Everything is well-maintained, easy communication and check in. The views and memories of coffee on the upper patio and dinner on the lower will be with me for a very, long time.
