This property was perfect for our family getaway.

Fabulous house ! My husband has been bringing me to the beach (obx) since I had a cardiac arrest 7 years ago.This vacation with our three daughters and spouse plus 2 grandaughters was by far the best yet! So much to do at this house. We fished , kayaked, caught crabs and had enough for a boil . Just a relaxing not have to stress place .Just what we all have been needing .We ended ournight with a coue hands of UNO . We would definately love to come again .Best of everything all . We had brought spices and such but the home is absolutey prepared and ready for every need you may have while you can just enjoy .Thank you so very much for the use of your superb beachhouse! Location was great, great beach access. Some problems with air conditioner but figured out the trick of shutting it off 4 hrs and can turn back on. It freezes. Not amused with bugs. Lots of space.

We had such a great week here! The kitchen is amazingly well stocked. Plenty of room to spread out for personal space and large enough gathering space to all be together. The sand yard next to the canal is a great place to fish, or just relax and enjoy hanging out with family. We loved the kayaks and paddle boards. Such a peaceful setting- less of a touristy area (which we loved) but still close enough to enjoy tourist type activities. There's a great little beach nearby with free parking. Would definitely recommend this home

We had an amazing time at the house. It was clean and well stocked, though the basement bedroom is still a bit unfinished. Our kids were in heaven digging in our own “beach” and parents loved being able to supervise from the screen porch. It was convenient to everything, but we did go in spring so parking was easy. We even took the kids out in the kayaks to explore! Would definitely return.

Very comfortable house with nice set-up. Beds were very comfortable. Kids really liked the beach-like back yard with lots of sand to play in. Back deck and yard are sunny throughout the day. Owners got right back to us when questions.

The Kitchen’s Salt House was an excellent find! It accommodated our group of 10 very comfortably and location and amenities were wonderful. Kids and adults all had a blast and we were able to enjoy quality family time together. The fire-pit, kayaking, fishing and beach yard on property were hits for all. Would definitely return and recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect and clsoe to everything while still private enough to not be in the hustle all day long.

This house was beautiful! So clean, and one of the most well stocked houses I have ever stayed in. The owners were FABULOUS, and answered questions quickly, and offered great suggestions for our stay. The property was so serene on the water. We had an amazing week visiting with our friends. We had a minor hiccup with the accessibility. We picked this property b/c we have a person in our traveling party in a wheelchair. I checked the handicap accessible search tab, and this property was included. I was concerned with the stairs and sleeping arrangements, but figured it would be ok once we got there. For a wheelchair to get into the main level, you need a ramp that starts 1/2 way up a steep driveway. On the main level, to get to the bathroom and bedrooms, there is a lip that a wheelchair could not maneuver over The only standup shower that doesn’t have a tub attached, is on the bottom level, use of stairs is needed. Fortunately, the person in our party that needed this accessibility, was a child. It was tiresome on his parents to carry him up and down, but they made it work. If this accessibility was needed for a full grown adult, it would have been a much larger challenge to overcome. Overall, the house is fantastic! We really enjoyed our stay. If you need a true handicap assessable property, ask specific questions for your needs.

The location on the canal and access to the beach is great. Easy to avoid the heavily used main road. It's a quiet area with great outdoor space. The amenities are great - kayaks, paddle boards, bikes, outdoor games. The house can easily accomodate a lot of folks.

The house was very well equipped with household items as well as outdoor items. It was also an excellent location and very easily accessible to stores, restaurants and many attractions including the beach. My whole family thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Kim and Eddy were top notch, communicative and maintain a great, spacious, super convenient home. The kitchen was a great working kitchen and well stocked. For the size of the house there was plenty of communal and private space. Situationally - Perfect! My college friends and I rent a beach house for a week. The week before, two of us come down early and are looking for an intermediary house, sort of a primer. We were able to easily enjoy the homeyness of the house and the access to the sound. Beach access is super easy and the sound is right there (did I already say that?). Pretty sure we’ll be contacting Eddy and Kimberly very soon about next year!

The beds are comfortable but the platform beds are low to the floor. We had fun with the games and puzzles. I went out on the paddle board a few times, the step-down at the pier was convenient for getting in and off the board. The drive to the beach was short and we never had and trouble finding parking. We would return.

Location location location! Home needs TLC but has more positives than negatives.

The Kitchen Salt House was a great place to stay for us while in the Outer Banks. Great location for all areas! Great fun fishing, kayaking and crabbing in the canal. Beautiful star light nights by the fire pit. Thanks!

We loved so much about this house: great kitchen, wonderful layout, kids loved the beach by the canal, and it was perfect for our family vacation!

Perfect property for our family and children -- so many small touches added up to a memorable experience. It was particularly important for us to find a great house given that the weather this time of the year is unpredictable, and this fit the bill perfectly. The "back yard" was amazing for our kids.

This was our 2nd stay at The Salt House. Just as we remembered. Awesome location and property. Super accommodating house. Amazing owners. Could not ask for a better holiday get-a-way. Thank you Eddy and Kimberly. We will be back. BG

This property is amazing! We had a fire every night in the fire pit, kayaked every day, spent an entire day at the beach and enjoyed wonderful breakfasts cooked on the efficient gas stove top. The kitchen was very well stocked & all the beds were comfortable. The kids enjoyed fishing & playing the Wii. I have 1 cautionary comment about wheelchair accessibility...My sister is in a wheelchair completely-cannot walk at all-and while we WERE able to get her in and out of the main level of the house, it was a bit difficult getting her down the dirt path that led to the front deck (which only had one stair which was good). Overall excellent time!

We enjoyed the location and will plan to stay in Southern Shores again as you can avoid the OBX traffic for the most part. The kitchen in this house is wonderful and we loved the uniqueness of the house layout. There was plenty of room. We also loved the canal view and outdoor space for activities. We will try to return if the place is available for our next trip.

Had a wonderful time at the Salt House. It was a perfect fit for our family. The space is beautiful and the house sits in a beautiful neighborhood just minutes from southern shores beaches. Our kids love fishing in the canals and using the great kayaks and paddleboards. Looking forward to visiting again!
