We loved our stay here. The picture window framing the countryside and ocean was amazing, whether it be the amazing sunsets or the clear view to Kangaroo Island, it was impossible not to sit back and enjoy the view. Taking a walk around the beautiful gardens of he property was also a feature of our stay, as well as the close proximity to the Deep Creek National parks pristine surroundings and beaches. The propoerty is well equipped and leaves you wanting to come back again for the experience - something I'm sure we'll do!

Back for a third time. Slow strolls in the beautiful diverse gardens or just relax on the couch with an impressive view down to Kangaroo Island. The simplicity of the house with homely touches is just what we need. We love DCR.

When we are looking for a quick getaway we always come here. It is quiet. The flowers are blooming and the diversity of birdlife is a beautiful sight to see. Thank you so much Sandra and Ian for allowing us to bring our puppies too.

This is the 3rd of 4th time we have stayed at this beautiful house, it’s off the grid so you get to be completely unplugged from your phone which was the idea. The views, particularly from the living room are unreal and you get a perfect view across to Kangeroo Island. The garden is a highlight, it’s a hectare of perfectly presented botanical garden, very special indeed and our dog loved it. I highly recommend for anyone who wants to unwind from the city life and breathe the fresh country air. Looking forward to our next stay. Alex and Clare

We took our two shepherds with us and they thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to run free and the different smells. Place is always clean and the garden with little birds flying around the the pond is a delight. Thank you

This was the perfect getaway experience. The house exceeded all expectations and my partner and I have already planned on returning for another trip later this year. The house was packed with all amenities, perfect location, beautiful views. Cannot recommend it enough!

Lovely property and stay.

Thanks Sandra and Ian, it was a perfect week away. The view across the fields and sea to KI are equal to the views into the garden from the bedroom and living area. The garden has been meticulously maintained - all the varied 'rooms' of the garden were such a pleasure to explore and discover. We had difficulty deciding where to eat breakfast each morning! Nothing was overlooked, the house also had a well stocked kitchen with fresh herbs from the garden, and all the tea choices, we didn't want to leave. Thanks again!

The Deep Creek Retreat is a great place to relax. We have stayed there a number of times, and want to stay again.

in a word "Perfect"- the clear and accurate directions that Sandra provided beforehand, the location, the glorious garden, the way the house was located to take in the best of the view, the warm welcome of the blazing fire and plentiful supply of firewood, the light-filled house so beautifully furnished and the thoughtful and generous supply of cooking extras. oh, and the sound system and CDs and books. and the outside shower! the juxtaposition of cold wind and hot water was wonderful. Sandra and Ian have created the most magical place and are so incredibly generous to share it with others. This is our 5th stay at Deep Creek Retreat and every time it is more special than the last. The minute we arrive, the world stops around us and the weight is lifted up off our shoulders. Our girls love exploring the surrounding garden and we love venturing across into the paddocks to fly a kite or catch the perfect sunset. Our favourite part of the day is unwinding in front of the fire at night with a good book and a glass of vino. Pure bliss!!

Delightful from the moment we entered the property. Neat, clean & tidy with the wood fire already adding warmth against the cold winters day outside. No need for a tv with the wonderful surrounding views on offer. The garden walks with new suprises around every turn adds another dimension to a wonderful short holiday.

Deep Creek is my favourite region for a short get away... has it all, beaches, 4wding, waterfalls, challenging walks, camping spots... even a trip to Goolwa is easy to achieve...

A beautiful retreat. We found ourselves resting on the lounge most of the day, looking out in awe through the large living room window. The view of the clouds rolling by over backstairs passage, with the Kangaroo Island coast in the distance allowed us a moment away from the hustle and bustle of our every day life. The house is well equipped and clean. It has the feeling of staying in a private retreat without being cluttered: a homely feel without any BnB vibe. Off grid means we need to be conscious of resources, but it is set up so well, we would practically have never noticed. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed to cook the food that we brought with us. The elegant mix of stoneware, eclectic glassware and retro cookware fitted with the theme of the retreat well. The property garden is well developed and our dog loved exploring. We walked laps of the different parts. The garden has a holiday house feel: left to have a retreat feel and not overly manicured. We look forward to returning at a future time.

A gorgeous house and incredible garden in an idyllic location. Unfortunately dense fog surrounded me for almost the entire stay so I didn't get to admire the apparently stunning views that drew me to book this property. But the wood fire, walled garden, comfy sofa and being completely off the grid to escape an increasingly crazy world were fine compensations.

Everything about this holiday property was perfect. More than clean excellent service, the styling and attention to detail could not be faulted. The garden was a delight, with numerous hideaways to sit and revel in the surroundings and the flora and fauna. We cannot wait to visit again.

We just love this place. Waking up to the birds and lighting the fireplace. Sitting for many hours chatting and looking at ‘the picture view.’ As soon as you enter this property all worries melt away and you relax and take in nature and enjoy all the little details that Ian and Sandra add to your stay that make it soo pleasant and enjoyable. We enjoyed our 4 night stay. A great place to come back to after going out for long walks in Deep Creek Recreation Park. Lots of wood is provided for cosy fires. The full kitchen is fitted out well making it easy to cook meals. Big warm towels, little chocolates, coffee for brewing and real tea to make in a choice of teapots all made for a bit of luxury and comfort. The view through the huge window facing on to the sea is magic. Then there is the garden to explore.....
