We stayed here before which is one reason why we returned. The place and the views are magnificent. Who ever stays here will NOT be disappointed.

Well appointed and beautiful property with a spectacular view. Property manager was easily accessible and very helpful upon check-in, but we had no issues with the home so didn’t really need her services beyond that. Comfortable beds and linens, well stocked with all that you need to enjoy your time on the island, and a lovely pool and deck area with a great view of the sun setting over the island of St Thomas. There isn’t much seating in the main house, as noted by my wife, but there is plenty outside both covered and uncovered. I honestly didn’t notice this until she remarked on it, and we both agreed that spending time inside in a place as stunningly beautiful as St John was pretty much losing the plot. Would definitely stay there again.

I don’t think our group could have any better of a time staying at Calicaribe. It is a beautiful location that feels away from it all, but still close to town with amazing views. Also, the house has EVERYTHING that you need from beach chairs to coolers to beach towels. The house is absolutely gorgeous with so much attention to detail. We had a group of friends go and each of us had our own bedroom, bathroom and space. I would say the best part was the private pool and the beautiful master shower! We all want to come back as soon as we can!

We have just returned from the most wonderful vacation on St. John. Calicaribe was the most gracious home and we were privileged to be guests. The amenities were the finest with beautiful linens, a kitchen with everything you need to prepare a beautiful meal and rooms filled with lovely furnishings. It is hard to explain exactly how beautiful the doors and windows are in this home. It is a strange thing to notice, but they are hard to miss. The beautifully appointed master bath was dreamy and the view from the master bed itself was of the water and palm trees, all framed by triple windows! The glass tiled pool was lovely as was the decking connecting the space. We marveled at how quickly a morning shower could pass, followed by daily rainbows - sometimes double rainbows! Let's not forget the beautiful covered porch (or is it called a veranda?) that allows you to sit outside during the morning rain shower or to enjoy dinner together outside. Calicaribe's location was the best of all. Just minutes from town, yet so utterly private and secluded. The views go on for miles to include too many islands to mention and a sunset each evening just as a reminder of your good fortune. Thank you for your hospitality. This vacation will remain with us for a long, long time. All we need to do is close our eyes and recall Calibcaribe. Ahhhh!

Our family of four (two college kids) had a fantastic time staying at Calicaribe. The pictures represent it well. The property was clean and ready for our arrival. Incredible views of Cruz Bay and beyond. Great location with easy, quick access to restaurants and bars. Extremely private. Gorgeous architecture. We would love to return.

We had the best time at Calicaribe! The house is beautifully designed and decorated with comfortable beds, luxury furnishings, and high-end linens. Relaxing around the pool watching the sunset was something we'll never forget. We loved being so close to Cruz Bay and Starfish Market. The owner Chuck, House Manager Shannon and Carlito were so easy to work with, super friendly and answered any questions we had right away. We have stayed in many vacation home rentals; Calicaribe is our new favorite and we hope to visit again soon.

The property is an idyllic spot for relaxing and enjoying everything about the VI's. We had three couples and this house was perfect for us. Wonderful design, construction and ambiance. Pool, decks, kitchen and furnishings all wonderful. Will go again.

My husband & I just stayed at Villa CaliCaribe on St John. The house is wonderfully laid out with gorgeous western views from everywhere. Fantastic outdoor space as well for sun bathing, reading, swimming & dining. The pool, although small, was great. Terrific location too. Close to Starfish Market & all the shops & restaurants, plus the beautiful beaches. The villa is very private with secure parking next to the house. We spent 12 relaxing days there & hated to see our vacation come to an end.

This is our second time staying in Calicaribe and we were a little concerned after the hurricane but it still looks beautiful. The home has less bedrooms than some other homes we've stayed in but perfect for 1 or 2 couples. There is a lower level with a small kitchen and queen bed but we didn't need it. The path to the lower level has been improved since our last stay. Would be a nice space for another family now that the path is easier to navigate. The pool is still our favorite spot after a day at the beaches and morning coffee. Stunning views and with it being right off the living areas it was where we hung out the most. No stairs to the pool! It is completely private, with sunset views and twinkling lights from St. Thomas every night. We cooked in several nights, there is a grill, a nice open kitchen layout and all the amenities you need. The Master bath is gorgeous! The wi-fi seemed to be upgraded since our last visit and they added a generator, although luckily we never needed that! Our contact was always very attentive to us if we had any questions and was waiting for us at the dock when we arrived. We have been coming to St. John for 15 + years and have stayed in lots of villas but we find Calicaribe to fit our needs perfectly.

Calicaribe was absolutely amazing to say the least! Chuck and Traci were incredible hosts! They were an email away from any questions that we had for our stay (post hurricane Irma and Maria.) The views were absolutely breathtaking and was so wonderful to wake up and enjoy the beautiful scenery! Calicaribe is a short drive away from downtown Cruz Bay shops, restaurants, the gas station, markets, and beaches. We didn't know what to expect being that St. John experienced major devastation. You would never know that two hurricanes came through at Calicaribe. It sure did not fail to deliver in every aspect! The master bathroom and bedroom in the main house was beautiful and so spacious! We grilled one night and every evening enjoyed some swimming in the outdoor pool after spending the day at the beaches. We were sad to leave but can't wait to come back one day in the hopefully very near future!

We stayed in this lovely villa late November with another couple and even though the villa has 3 bedrooms, we only utilized the two on the main floor. Calicaribe is located only minutes from the ferry in Cruz Bay yet is set in a very private area with amazing views. All the indoor living spaces were great including great beds and an amazing master bathroom shower. The kitchen has everything you need to cook in along with an outdoor grill. The best part of the villa is the outdoor spaces with a covered porch, swimming pool and beautiful views. My husband is a paraplegic and the villa worked great for him. The main living areas and 2 bedrooms and baths are on one floor with no steps.

I had the pleasure of staying at CaliCaribe for 8 days. It truly is a slice of heaven. If you are looking to relax, recharge and unwind this is the perfect location to do so. It's very romantic and the perfect set up for couples. The rooms are situated in such a way that provide plenty of privacy. The villa is decorated with elegant and beautiful touches. The view is even more breath taking in person and the most beautiful I've ever seen!! Town is a short walk or drive down the hill into Cruz Bay with all the restaurants, shopping and bars. A very cute area. The beaches I visited were all unbelievable. I can't wait to go back! I've told all my friends and family about what an amazing place Calicaribe is.

What a truly wonderful experience! Everything about Calicaribe was just perfect! The home, the view, the pool, the porch....it was a splendid vacation! So close to everything in Cruz Bay, restaurants, the market, shopping. We definitely will go back!

Located on a hillside facing west, north/west the view includes Stevens Cay, Grass Cay, Mingo Cay, Two Brothers, Thatch Cay, Hans Lollik, all of Pillsbury Sound and, of course, parts of St. Thomas. Sunsets range from beautiful to truly spectacular. I wish I was there now! Highly recommended.

Great views , loved the pool and dining area that overlook the turquoise water and other islands. Watched the Iguanas in the trees while drinking morning coffee . Lots of privacy for 3 couples or families , as all bedrooms and baths are separate . Great location , close to Cruz Bay , with lots of great restaurants , a wonderful market and the beautiful north beaches. Tastefully decorated with local art . Wonderful stay and highly recommended.

This is absolutely a slice of HEAVEN. The westerly view is breathtaking, day or night. The Villa is one of a kind, feels like home, very private. It is so much more than you would expect and the moment you step inside, you feel relaxed. The near by beaches offer magnificent water sports, or just soak up the sun. I will make it back to Calicaribe and would recommend it to family and friends. Thanks for opening up your home, for the world to enjoy.

The photos and descriptions of this villa on VRBO provide an accurate description of Calicaribe. The views from the verandah and decks are beautiful, and the house is first-rate. The décor is simply elegant. Also, guests will greatly appreciate that the villa is supplied with paper and plastic items along with detergents not found in many other similar rental units. Moreover, the owners quickly respond to phone calls or emails about the villa or the island. St. John itself is an island with many beautiful beaches, wonderful hiking trails, interesting shops, and delicious restaurants. My only “complaint” is that the water temperature (about 80 degrees) was a bit too cool to make snorkeling comfortable for me…even though I was wearing a short wet suit with a long sleeve rash guard. Nonetheless, it was worth being cold in order to see the great variety of fish, coral, and turtles!

My family and I just returned from a week at Calicaribe on St. John, USVI. My wife and I, along with our two teens, very much enjoyed the villa and everything it had to offer - not the least of which is the truly magnificent view! The view extends over 180 degrees from St. Thomas to the British Virgin Islands and enjoys spectacular sunsets over St. Thomas. The villa is even more impressive in person and was perfectly stocked with everything we needed. The owner and local property managers are wonderful to deal with and entirely professional. I would not hesitate staying here on our next trip or recommending it to our family and friends. The location is minutes away from Cruz Bay which offers great island shopping and top notch restaurants (although you will require a jeep rental). The beaches on the island are also some of the nicest beaches we have ever enjoyed (Trunk and Cinnamon are our favorites). While the villa is great for a family with teens or older, it would also be a great rental for three couples. The bedrooms are well separated and provide plenty of privacy, including the third bedroom suite with its own entrance and kitchen facilities. A romantic tropical paradise for certain!

Calicaribe is absolutely the nicest villa I've ever stayed at. The views were outstanding, the decor was beautiful as well as comfortable and we were able to walk into town and back every day (if you're into the steep hillside). We enjoyed the pool and really didn't need to leave the villa as the pool was beautiful as well as the views. The sunsets were incredible as well as the moon shining over the water at night. This villa would be perfect for 3 couples as every room had it's own ensuite bath. Although we didn't use, the lower suite was nice for extra privacy and had it's own mini kitchen. I would definitely recommend this villa and will be staying there on my future visits. Thanks Chuck & Traci!

We had a wonderful time on St. John and Calicaribe was great for our stay. Clean and efficient with great views over Cruz Bay back to St. Thomas. Very close to town, but you definately need a car. Biggest drawback is the annoying roosters which crow all night long so it is hard to sleep with the windows open. That said, it is a very nice property, close to town, with good views on a beautiful island.

My family and I (four young kids) absolutely loved this house. Great location on top of Contant Hill with a fantasic view, particularly from the patio/pool area, of St. Thomas, Pillsbury Sound and the hills surrounding Cruz Bay. Picturesque. The house is immaculate. Very comfortable and very private. Less than a 10 minute drive to Cruz Bay and maybe 15-20 minutes to the best beaches on the north shore (Hawksnest Bay, Trunk Bay). It can be hit or miss when you rent a house on the internet but no issues with Calicaribe. Absolutely top notch. We will be back. Note - you must get a four wheel drive vehicle (jeeps are all over the place) to get around the island. Taxi service seemed ok but if you plan to get out and about, buck up for a car rental (four wheel drive) and have fun.

Our family just returned from a wonderful week at Calicaribe. There were three couples, my husband and I, our two sons and DILs. Everyone had their own private space with bathroom attached and shared the main living spaces. The 'pod' style layout is different from what we are used to, but in our case, it worked out perfectly. Everyone had privacy when they wanted it and gathered in the living room to play games or be together, have meals, etc. The house itself is so nice, very nicely done with high end finishes, the bedrooms equipped with very comfy bedding. The indoor/outdoor shower is unique and 'cool', however, I might prefer to be able to a/c it while getting hair and make-up done...just my opinion, and might be more uncomfortable in June than other times of year. All in all, a very delightful stay, thanks and kudos to the Ross's!

This was our first visit to St. John and it was even better than I imagined. We were greeted at the ferry dock by a wonderful young lady who gave us a quick "tour" of Cruz Bay and then introduced us to the villa which was a very short drive to all the shopping and restaurants in Cruz Bay and Starfish Market. We normally stay in a resort with a lot of amenities and thought we may miss them, but Calicaribe had everything we needed, they even had floats for the pool and folding chairs and coolers to take to the beach. We found it very easy to navigate from the villa to many different beaches. We loved the open, screened-in living area of the main villa and the nice warm breeze that was always blowing through. We enjoyed having coffee and breakfast here each morning before heading out to explore this amazing island and returning in the evening to watch the amazing sunsets from the balcony. We cannot wait to return for a longer visit in May.

Our family spent two unforgettable weeks in late July and early August at Calicaribe, celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary, We can't say enough about Calicaribe. We loved the villa -- its layout and tasteful decor. The views of St Thomas, other islands, and Cruz Bay from the property, especially the guest house and the pool area, are breathtaking. Although the heat and humidity were high during the peak hours of each day, temperatures and humidity lowered late in the afternoon so that we could enjoy wine and cheese and the view, including spectacular sunsets, on the patio and dinner on the verandah. Pictures of the property on various websites don't do it justice. Calicaribe is much better than we expected. It is clean and very well maintained. Calicaribe is blessed with an excellent local property manager, Steve Black, who has lived in Cruz Bay for 25 years and is a constructive civic activist. Whenever we needed anything, Steve was prompt in his response. St John is truly paradise. We were fortunate to have a rental jeep to get around the island and to have our daughter and her partner do all the driving. The roads are challenging because the island is very hilly and the roads have very sharp turns, which means that one does not need to worry about exceeding the 20 mph speed limit. Opportunities for snorkeling and scuba diving abound. The beaches (St John has 39 of them) are beautiful. We swam at four of them: Trunk Bay, Little Lameshur Bay, Hawksnest Bay, and Maho Bay. We ate out only three times because my daughter's partner loves to cook, and having dinner on the verandah was a pleasant experience. The Fish Trap and Zozo's are excellent restaurants in Cruz Bay, although the latter may be too expensive for some folks. We highly recommend a sojourn at Calicaribe. You'll get plenty of bang for your bucks.
