The gentleman working at the office let us store our luggage and transported to the house after we had brunch. The house is very spacious. There were eight of us ladies and everyone had their own bed. Being directly on the ocean haves us wonderful views. The house could use some updating. Some fresh paint, new carpeting and updated bathroom’s.

The house is big and bright, right on the water. Wide, unobstructed view of the ocean. Lots of natural light. Enough space for a big group. I liked the big open plan for living and kitchen space. It's also walkable distance to some of the restaurants and bars nearby, which is convenient.

The problems we experienced with this stay: the house had not been cleaned prior to our arrival (East Islands remedied this situation as soon as possible and refunded one night); the HVAC system needs some maintenance, upstairs was inequitable distribution of the air, one side was much warmer than the other. East Islands was great at addressing anything we reported wrong with property in a timely manner.

Carpet throughout the house should have been replaced a few years ago as it's heavily soiled and stained throughout. Dishwasher is new but improperly installed making it a challenge to close. An upright rusty nail on bannister leading to pool was a safety hazard to our toddlers that we corrected on the spot with a makeshift cover.Bathroom off kitchen had ceiling repairs that were never completed and that coupled with old shower doors and other junk stored in the laundry room left us with the perception that renter throughput is far more important to owners than a quality experience for the renter.We found it a bit disingenuous--and it reinforced our perception above-- to advertise a jacuzzi bath in the master bath and then to find a nicely framed sign there, "Jacuzzi Jets Do Not Work."Previous comments called out similar things and at least one response indicates maintenance is planned for the fall and it's sorely needed. There's a difference between worn and neglected and this house suffered from both and detracted from an overall great time.Home condition matters and if choice is made to defer what should be routine maintenance and upkeep, e.g., shampooing carpets and pool landscaping, then it should be disclosed and reflected in some sort of discounted pricing.

It felt like coming home since this was our 4th year staying here.The floor plan is perfect for our family. The pool is great for our little ones. The location right there on the beach is perfect. God willing, we will be back next year.The A/C was not cooling well on Thursday. I called and the A/C guy was out within 2 hours!!The new dishwasher is nice. Unfortunately it was difficult to close.The new refrigerator is very nice. A new cook top would be nice.Again, we made wonderful family memories!!

We really appreciate the free upgrade when the original home we rented was switched out because of renovations! And we made great use of the hot tub!Generally I am someone to give all 5s however there were a few issues with the condition of the house - window is still broken in one of the bedrooms (stayed in the same house in Nov 2021 and we notified the office). Could use a new set of pans in the kitchen. Water dripping from a ceiling light in the living room the day it was raining. We called maintenance and they would be out the very next business day!Overall IOP is our favorite. We love the restaurants, bars, customer service and pretty much everything about the area! It was even loud inside the house. We won’t be renting there next year.

Communications with company, location and house (overall) were wonderful. The home needs some improvements (updating and touch ups) to make it look nicer and cleaner. There were some issues that the company knew about beforehand but did not tell us. The pool lights were broken which prevented us from swimming at night. It was too dark to swim at night with kids and be safe. Also, there was is a big leak in the living room that made itself present during a storm. Luckily someone was home otherwise our computer would have been ruined. We understand these things happen but the company should have told us of these issues ahead of time especially since they already knew about them.

The location was great, and the house comfortably fit our family of 8 adults and 5 children. We did have a fun vacation. However, there were serious issues with cleanliness and overall condition of the property. The front bathroom had black mold covering the ceiling when we arrived. Workmen came out on our day of arrival and the next day to try to remove the mold, and then the ceiling was primed with Kilz the following day. A tech was checking our pool and shocking it when we arrived, thus we had to wait a couple of hours until we could use the pool. The tech was supposed to return mid-week to clean and check chemicals but never did. The floor of the pool had algae in several areas and the skimmer was never cleaned. The propane cylinder was empty when we first tried to use the bbq pit, so we had to go to the office to exchange for a full one (should have been checked before we arrived). A chair broke when we sat on it on the deck. The cooktop vent duct was separated and blew into the cabinet below. The icemaker did not work, nor did pool lights. Too many things were broken, and attention to detail was lacking. The mold covering the entire bathroom ceiling was completely unacceptable. These things should have been taken care of prior to our arrival.

We love to eat our meals out on the porch, so we were disappointed to find that one of the two picnic tables had been removed. Apparently, it had fallen into disrepair. After contacting East Island, we had a new table to accompany the older one. For us, it all about being beachfront with just enough distance from the pier area to give us some privacy and quiet.

We love Isle of Palms! This property was great for our big family. Right on the beach and the big pool was roomy for everyone. We had a couple of maintenance issues which were quickly addressed. Thanks for allowing us the opportunity to create memories!
