Our family enjoyed our stay at The Clara! We received excellent communication from Carmen. On the day we arrived, she texted us pictures of the property and a reminder of the code to gain access. After a long day of travel, we asked for dinner suggestions, and she provided several options. We ended up at the Crystal Beer Parlor, a prior speakeasy, and we loved the ambience and food. Carmen was also aware that we were traveling in celebration of my son's 18th birthday. As we entered the house, we found birthday balloons and a gift bag filled with chocolates and other goodies which was very thoughtful. The property was spacious with big bedrooms (television in each room) and a large dining room. The property is close to many shops and restaurants with a grocery store a few blocks away. We would definitely stay here again.

4 gal pals finally have a chance to get together in lovely Savannah. We loved the extra room in the house and the comfort of the beds. Thanks for the special Savannah coffee which we greatly enjoyed each morning. The house was convenient to walk to the sights and to some great restaurants. Thanks for a great stay!

Very charming Victorian. In "as is" condition. The house is over 100 years old, and you can tell for sure. It was immaculately clean, but in very fragile condition. Peeling paint on the ceilings, precariously sloping floors in upstairs bathroom, inability to lock most inside doors, not enough outlets to plug in all tech for 10 people. But, on the positive note we had fully stocked kitchen, walked to the waterfront, and pretended to be dainty Southern ladies walking down a gorgeous hundred year old staircase. Incredible house. Bring powerstrips and extention cords. Southern charm 12 out of 10!!

Our stay in this historic home was lovely. The place was very spacious - perfect for our group of 9 people. Would stay here again anytime.

This home was listed as pet free but when I arrived I started having an asthma attack that is triggered by pet dander. The guest book said pets ok with $50 deposit. Owner said no pets allowed but I was going to the hospital if I stayed. Owner would not refund the stay, only a small cleaning fee. Still waiting for VRBO to report what they found upon investigation of the owner and listing. Front door was also rotted around the lock, this in a neighborhood where residents have bars on their windows. I have used VRBO for 20 years Never again!

We had a great experience staying at The Clara while we spent the day in Savannah! The owners are very responsive and get in touch with you very quickly. The house exceeded our expectations and was absolutely beautiful! Next time we travel to Savannah, we will be staying here again!

This is a great location in a downtown location. Easy walking to multiple sites. There were fresh flowers to welcome us to Savannah!

We loved the location of the house. The Forsyth Park was just a short walk away. Then we caught the free bus shuttle to all parts of Savannah. The house was clean, roomy and had everything we needed.. We even enjoyed a movie on the DVD that was provide. We are definitely coming back!

Very easily and quite comfortable

We were fortunate enough to come across “The Clara” while searching for a last minute accommodation in Savannah. What a charming, lovely home. It felt clean, welcoming, and incredibly cozy and warm, despite the chilly temperatures this weekend. Our 4 year old son was dismayed to learn that this house was not ours to keep. The hosts were gracious and incredibly communicative. They could not have been more lovely. We are so grateful for their hospitality.

We needed a house for 7 people and we wanted the charm of an older home close to downtown. This 4 bedroom house was perfect. The host prepared the house with decorations for fall, as well as a welcome basket with fruit and goodies. We felt very welcome. The location was convenient to the free DOT shuttle to take us downtown for exploration and tours in Old Savannah. Because of Covid we wanted have most meals at the house rather than going out in the evening. The kitchen was well supplied with cooking implements, utensils, plates, glasses, and wine glasses. All we had to supply was the food. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving together.

Size was more than enough for our 4 couples of good friends. Nice outside place to hang out as well.

Carmen’s property was wonderful. It was a beautiful Savannah home with plenty of space for a large group. As one of our friends said, it was nice to be in a house advertised to sleep 10 people that also had enough living space for a large group to actually relax! We had a wonderful time here.

We had a wonderful stay! The house was VERY nice and the hosts had everything we needed available. They even put a nice little welcome basket together for us. Carmen was extremely friendly and very helpful. It's a perfect house for a large group. It had five beds in total and the neighborhood was fairly close to everything. Highly recommend this house and the hosts.

We had a wonderful stay at the Clara! The house is absolutely beautiful and just what we wanted- we had searched high and low for houses and this place really worked out perfect. We stayed with a total of 8 women and the bedrooms were perfectly set up where we had tons of space to relax and get ready together. Carmen was wonderful!

I stayed at the Clara for my birthday with a group of my girlfriends. The place was architecturally beautiful, space was cleaned and prepped for us (beds made, towels ready, etc.) and conversations with Carmen were kind and prompt. The only thing I wish is that we spent more time in the house and not exploring the city, haha.

The Clara was just what our group of 5 friends needed for a Girls' Trip to Savannah. The beds were very comfortable. The location in historic Savannah was convenient. Unfortunately, the metro wasn't running during our time there, but it was a short walk to Forsyth Park and other transportation options were available. Carmen was a great host! She was flexible with our group, responsive via email and text and very helpful with information we needed about the city. We spent a fair amount of time outside in the garden court yard enjoying the great weather! The house was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely recommend the Clara.

Really enjoyed our time, though short, at The Clara. We easily found everything we needed and knew we were in good hands during our stay. Carmen and Jon were such great hosts and really made us feel special!

This is an old house with all the charm expected. The location is a bit away from the main tourist area, but it is only a few blocks from the DOT free bus that is very regular. We used that every day.

We are a group of 5 ladies from Florida and New York who travelled to Savannah Georgia for a sightseeing trip. We rented the Clara, a large house with 4 bedrooms that comfortably accommodated us. It was in walking distance from most of the sightseeing tours and restaurants. We parked our car for the whole trip and walked everywhere. The house was clean and well equipped. The owner is a lovely lady named Carmen who was very attentive to us. I would not hesitate to rent from her in the future.

The Clara was a perfect fit for our family... eight adults and two small kids. The location was ideal. An easy walk to Forsyth Park and the playgrounds; several good places for breakfast in the neighborhood (we particularly enjoyed Nairobia’s); a gentle stroll to downtown; quiet and safe neighborhood. The house was very comfortable and well provisioned with the necessities. We were greeted by a lovely basket of fruit, wine and cookies ( very welcoming after a long drive!). Bedrooms were roomy with “just right” mattresses, so everyone got a good night’s sleep. Although we had an extra car, there was no problem parking it across the street (we weren’t there for the street cleaning day though). Having youngsters in tow, we decided to order take out one night, and this was easily arranged through GrubHub. We also used Uber for a group who wanted to play in the Escape Rooms one evening. All in all, a perfect spot. Our thanks and kudos to Carmen for being a wonderful host.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at “the Clara.” The location and the property were a perfect suit for our needs. Carmen is an absolute gem. She was responsive, thorough, and was very concerned with making sure our needs were met. I would highly recommend and If my personal needs called for a stay again, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this property.

Our group of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Clara. The house was exactly as advertised which is always a nice surprise! The architecture and details of the house really enhanced our enjoyment of exploring this historic city. Though an older house, the Clara is not short on modern conveniences and we found everything to be in good working order! The beds were all beautifully made and the mattresses were super comfortable. There was just massive amounts of space for our group and we loved having the porches and patios to relax also. Jon and Carmen were very responsive to every little question we had and left fresh flowers and a lovely note to welcome us to the house. The best VRBO hosts I have experienced! I liked the location of the house which was just a few blocks from Forsyth Park. It was a tiny bit farther to all the rest of the historic district than I anticipated but nothing major. One of the simplest things I liked about the location was the presence of a yummy Chinese takeout place right across the street. Savannah has some wonderful food, but after a long day of sightseeing sometimes you just want comfort food! Another lovely aspect of this house was the ability we had of accommodating one of our guests in a wheelchair. We were able to get her up the few steps at the front of the house and then with the rollaway bed and full bathroom downstairs she had everything she needed. That was a difficult thing to find in the housing market of Savannah. There was ample room in the house for the wheelchair to get through the doorways also. It was handicap friendly except for the few steps at the front. All in all, a wonderful home that we enjoyed! Plenty of basics to get us started with coffee and laundry stuff and plenty of linens and towels, plates and kitchen ware. I highly recommend the Clara for your next Savannah trip!

We are a group of friends who chose this property for our reunion after several years apart. We found the property to be very clean, spacious, and very nicely appointed. Carmen was an exceptional host! She went above and beyond to assure us a comfortable stay. We highly recommend this property.

Stayed a week at The Clara in Savannah to celebrate my 70th Birthday with some of my dearest friends. The house worked out beautifully for us 7 women. Our host, Carmen, was wonderful and helpful. The city is beautiful and the restaurants did not disappoint. The location was perfect and many things within walking distance. Thanks for a wonderful time!

We had an absolutely amazing time in Savannah!!! Our house was gorgeous and the owners were the epitome of true Savannah hospitality!!!! We can’t wait to go back!!!

Close proximity to historic Savannah is a plus!

We stayed here for dance competition with two other families and it was only 8 mins from the Civic Center. The house was set up beautifully and we had plenty of room. We were just minutes away from everything. The house had everything we needed. Loved the old house feel and very comfortable.

Carmen was such a wonderful host and provided quite a few special touches such as fresh flowers throughout the home and a welcome basket full of goodies to honor my very ill father. The home was beautiful and in a great location! The neighborhood was extremely walkable and very close to Forsyth Park, cafe’s, grocery, & libation stores. We loved the comfy beds and all 9 of us had a true bed to sleep in (no pull out sofas). This was truly a great experience for our family.
