Nice, remote, very quiet, 180 degree view of the ocean. The house was unique ad fun. Roughly halfway between Kona and Volcanoes National Park

The house is out further from town which was exactly what we wanted! The neighborhood was quiet and had a beautiful view of the ocean and the hills. The pool was perfect! It has a good bit of shade to get of the sun and the heat. Would love to stay here again!!! Be prepared for mosquitos. We got ate up the first day. Went and got bug spray and we were good the rest of the trip.

As advertised: well kept up, easy to contact owner for one minor problem (power-on glitch, I think), amazing interior decorating...see to believe, automatic outdoor lighting surprised us when it came on, considerable outside seating, separate screened outside seating area w/hammock, all appliances worked, some spices, etc. supplied. Light pool upkeep requested...no problem, interesting view...guess you'd say we enjoyed ourselves.! Info to owners: Road to house was repaved and slightly widened while we were there. Road machinery operators were easy to deal with.

The only hiccup was not getting information from Craig regarding key access and didn't have any reception to contact upon arrival. But we are still in paradise and eventually it all worked out. We couldn't have asked for a better accommodation. The house and property are beautiful and welcoming. The perfect place to unwind after exploring the island and watching sunsets.

Anticipate the long way down on a windy (paved) road passing farms and overlooking the ocean. Would recommend arriving with daylight. Very close to Miloli'i Beach park which is a small pristine patch of sand + volcano rock beach. Stock up on food before going, there aren't many nearby spots (closest food ~30 minutes any direction). Very nice house with fully stocked kitchen, many fans and seating areas. Awesome pool + grill and outdoor lenai. Mesmerizing sunsets every night, watch the sun sink into the Pacific. House is located on old lava flow and can see this clearly in the surrounding areas. Mosquitos come out at sundown, and there is no AC if you're wondering. House somewhat isolated but is nicely situated between Kona and Volcanos. Me and my girlfriend had an amazing time exploring the Island from this location. Top reco would be Miloli'i beach park but be respectful! Other highlights include beautiful ocean views from pool/house, Coffee man at beginning of road, Geckos everywhere, isolated feel, awesome kitchen

This is a great spot, with lots of little tucked away spots. There is a lanai, a pool, several little table/chair spots, and an upstairs loft. This was a perfect spot with kids, as the pool makes for an easy distraction and a nice cool-off for everyone. Gorgeous ocean view. The things to consider are that there are not a lot of resources nearby. It's 20 minutes or so to the main road, and another 15-20 to the closest stores. The terrain around this neighborhood is a lava flow, so the main attraction of the view is the very wide view of the ocean. It's a pretty amazing ocean view, and we had really gorgeous sunsets. It was a really nice kitchen to cook in, and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Once you're off the main road, the road to the property is narrow and curvy, but you get used to it after you drive it a few times. The house was tidy, comfortable, and well-stocked, and the view was amazing. Make sure to venture down to the beach by the house—we had it all to ourselves and watched giant waves crashing onto the rocks—it was pure magic. We'd recommend the house to anyone who wants an authentic experience of the Big Island that you can't get at a resort.

The shower was amazing. It was a perfect place to spend the first week of our Big Island vacation. When we visit the Big Island again, we would welcome staying at this home. This home offers EVERYTHING - the private pool is quite the luxury and the view is stunning. We walked to the coastline and explored rocks and arches. The road down requires that you go slowly and the neighborhood is peaceful. We enjoyed our stay there! Thank YOU!!

This was a Beautiful property! The host really thought of everything to make sure the guest have everything they need to kick back and relax. We would highly recommend this property.

We had a wonderful vacation. The house was the perfect size for our family of 4. Spent mornings watching the beautiful sunset and evenings out in the screened in porch watching the sunset. Our kids said their favorite part was the pool. The house has everything you need to go to the beach. We also enjoyed watching the geckos run around on the deck. We would love to come back again.

The house is stocked with every appliance and tool you will need to cook amything you want. The small detail of an extensive spice cabinet personally made my day. My partner and I were able to spend 5 nights at the this delightful property. It was our home base for our exploration of the Kona coast. Lynn, who was maintaining the property, was kind and helpful. While Miloli’i is a distance from Kailua-Kona, I encourage folks to take the opportunity to enjoy the gorgeous landscape as you wind and wend up the coast. Everything about check-in and check-out was easy and seamless. I had lost the email with the check-in information and Craig was quick to respond. The view was lovely, but the sunsets and the night sky blew me away. This is the place to stay if you want an off-the-beaten-path, unique stay. We would happily return.

This was a great rental, we truly loved our stay! The home is located in a nice secluded area with a beautiful view of the water and the sunsets! Everything was super cozy to the decor of the home to the screen room, very convenient pool, and beautiful outdoor bathroom. The owner responded very promptly and was super generous and kind I would definitely love to stay here again and get to explore the big island some more! We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to the next time

We spent 4 days here last week and we couldn't be happier that we did! The house has everything you need and then some. The best snorkeling on the island is just down the hill and a beautiful uncrowded black and white sand beach is an easy 30 minute hike from the "town" church This is a place to just completely unwind and check out for a while. Can't wait to go back!!!

This was such a cute house. The pool and patio were incredible. The view of the ocean was spectacular. Pictures do not do it justice. We saw so many beautiful sunsets. This is a bit of a drive from Kona but it is well worth the trip! Owners were great and neighbor was very friendly.

Quiet, beautiful, everything you need

Enjoyed the house and the black sand beach at bottom of village via state trail is amazing and hike is fairly easy and only 3/4 mile.

Our experience at this beautiful location exceeded our expectations. It's isolation from the rest of the world was just what we were looking for. The decor was artsy and the views were amazing. The squitors were probably the most active from 8-10am when the winds were calmer and then again from 4-6pm. But we prepared for them accordingly once we knew when they would be active. We have a 2yr old son, so it was challenging to keep everything secured and safe for him but not impossible. If you're not into home cooking, dinning out is not convienent. Otherwise, load up on food and drinks then settle into a dreamy stay at this awesome spot. Definitely going to try get back here soon. Mahalo Craig!

We loved our time at the Tranquil Whale house! Everything was amazing and we especially enjoyed the pool and relaxation grotto. A wonderful place if you really want to get away from it all.

Beautiful view. The house was perfect and had everything we needed. We loved getting to see the herd of goats that live in the area :)
