The view was amazing, the unit was very well stocked. We had an issue with the bed and it was handled so well. I would suggest removing the url at the bottom of the page of snorkeling spots because I think it has been corrupted. I ended up with some unwanted phone messages after punching it in. I hoghly tecommend this place if you want a little quieter experience.

This was the. most well-equipped condo I have ever stayed (& I've stayed in several) along with many nicety upgrades. VERY clean. Location was just what we were looking for ... private, serene, relaxing. Owners were VERY responsive to questions prior to and after booking. Great folks to work with and a wonderful condo.

We had a great week staying at The Retreat. If you are looking for a quiet location away from the busy touristy part of the island this is the place to be.

We loved this place! It was clean and comfortable and very well stocked, with a lovely view of the ocean. We felt right at home from the minute we walked in the door. The surrounding property was very well maintained, the beach out front was lovely and the nearby snorkeling was incredible. Plus, Matt and Tracey were great about providing lots of useful information and answering all of our questions in the lead up to the trip. We truly can't wait to come back!

The unit is extremely well stocked from wine openers to cutlery, towels , paper products, beach chairs , coolers , on and on. The owners have done an excellent job to make “no worries “ be the time one can spend here. We loved the beach view from the Lanai, spent breakfast and evening out there every day . The retreat is a very well run community, maintenance was out every day quietly keeping the area very clean . We had a issue with the lanai screens due to high winds , they were on top of it before we could report it . Excellent property management! The beach area is one of our favorite places for vacation, awesome sunsets, beautiful sand beach , there is a rock line near shore for easy snorkeling even for beginners, water is shallow so one can stand up . The Rum point Club is next door for food and beverage, Kaibo is a short drive away and Starfish point is a short drive as well. We hope to stay here again , excellent condo and we love the north side location. Thanks for sharing your property!!

We are leaving this condo today after a wonderful week! We have enjoyed sitting on the screened patio having our coffee every morning, enjoying the beautiful ocean view! The condo has everything we need, even a small cooler to take drinks to the beach! The snorkeling right out the door was amazing! We can’t wait to come back! Thank you!!

This place is by far the best I have ever stayed in. It has absolutely everything you need, from beach gear right down to measuring spoons in the kitchen. I felt very much at home which made my vacation one of the best I've had.. Its clean and safe and perfectly located. I cannot recommend this more.

Great owners keep this place well-mantained. More beautiful than pictures. Great location and morning coffee on the lanai is so peaceful watching and listening to the ocean. Easy nearby access to kayaking bio illumininescence tour- highly recommended. Snorkel right out your condo to see beautiful fish, conch and sting ray. We drove over to 7 mile beach and although pretty we are so glad we stayed in a more quiet side of the island. We will recommend this place to all our friends and family.

This place was perfect for two of us! Right near the beach so snorkeling was easy! Perfect distance from Rum point so easy meals and drinks if you don’t want to drive for the day. The house was clean and stocked and very accommodating. Had a book with all the information you needed for eating, groceries, sites to visit and even snorkeling details! So helpful! The new building is almost done so the construction noise wasn’t terrible and it was only during the day when we were at the beach or running around so we weren’t affected although it does obstruct the view of one side of the ocean that was once there but that wasn’t a problem since it was only a short walk to the beach to get all the views! Great place for a couple to get away and enjoy the relaxing vibe of the rum point side of the island!

Great place - accurately described. Very clean. We had a bit of a glitch with the air conditioning not working on our last night; although they weren’t able to fix it before we left - the owners were very responsive to this issue. We would recommend this rental to others.

We enjoyed our visit to Grand Cayman. The Retreat condo was a great place to stay for “home base”. Not too far from Georgetown, great for scenic drive and shopping. You do not have to travel far for groceries or restaurants. High.y recommend Tukka for great food and drinks.. Very comfortable and relaxing- we will be back.

We had a great stay at this condo. Having previously stayed along Seven Mile Beach, we wanted some place a little more off the beaten path, but still with a nice beach, great snorkeling and some restaurant choices nearby. The location of the Retreat delivered and Matt & Tracey's condo was top notch. The condo was clean and decorated with a chic contemporary West Indies aesthetic. It had to be the best furnished by owner rental we've every vacationed at. You name it, from beach towels to cocktail shakers to a FireStick for streaming, these guys really went out of their way to provide for guests. The view from the unit is great, but probably not as private as it once was with a new building next door. It was still super relaxing to have our morning coffee out there and dinner the one night we cooked on the BBQ. The beach was clean and very private. The water is pretty shallow a good ways out, crystal clear and calm. They have snorkeling guides in the guest book, be sure to use them, it was fantastic. All-in-all, we had a great stay and look forward to renting this unit again when we come back up to Rum Point.

The Condo was nice but beach was basically unswimable and it stunk like sewage. The island is very expensive and having to travel far every time you want to eat was a pain. I would not stay there if I was going back. I want there to stay in the condo.

We had a wonderful stay at the Retreat at Rum Point last week! I would recommend this condo to any couple who would like to stay near the water and enjoy the outdoor life that Cayman has to offer. The condo was perfect for my wife and I. It had a large screened in porch with a wonderful view of the water, just steps away from the beach. We found the condo to be just as it was described on VRBO. The check in/out process was so convenient and easy. We felt safe and comfortable for our stay. We liked staying at Rum Point as well because it's less congested than the busier 7 Mile Beach area. But we could get anywhere on the island with a short, enjoyable drive. There is construction occurring next door on a large complex, which was a little annoying. But we were told about that before we booked, and decided to move forward. I don't regret it. We had a great stay! Thank you so much!

Perfect location, away from crowds and close to everything we wanted to do. We were looking for a non-tourist visit to Gc and found it at The Retreat at Rum Point. Swimming or walking distance from many of the adventures we were looking for and a short drive from the others. Loved it!

The property is nice. Sadly, being overshadowed ,permanently, by a new building which looks into the lanai. Construction starts at 7am. (for now)and is loud and dusty, which blows into the pool. Interior is spacious and well supplied. However, it needs a deep cleaning and fresh painting, if you're into the fine-tuning. It's "vacationland". It all depends on your perspective....

The property is beautiful. The condo has everything you need. The construction next door was terrible. Noise Mon-Sat. 7a-4:30p. Unable to use the lanai, bedroom was rocked. On Sunday, only day of quiet, the management power-washed other condos so noise continued. Not owner's fault.

We enjoyed watching the sunset from Star Fish Point every night of our stay. Your condo was well stocked and appointed. We loved having your book of knowledge to help plan each day. Sting Ray City was so close. But one of our favorites was the Atlantis submarine trip to explore under the sea. Also the botanical gardens & Crystal Caves..both just minutes away. Matt and Tracey provided a first rate 1 bedroom condo. Rum Point is an ideal spot for rest p, beaching and snorkeling - best in the island. Their unit 13 was well stocked: towels, beach towels, kitchen appliances, tissues, TP, toiletries, Internet, entertainment center and so much more ... even snorkeling equipment and books to read. Amazing hospitality from afar. Also, they had 2 beach chairs if you visited other beaches (Rum Point has plenty of chaises on their beach for guests). This was our fourth trip and when we return in 2020 we will try to rent this unit if available. Only downside is it is a third floor unit with no elevators. Alan & Pati

The condo at the retreat was spacious, clean, and a great view. It had everything we needed! Honestly you didn’t need to go anywhere else on the island, Rum Point has it all from a beautiful beaches, snorkeling, great food, fun drinks, water sports and stingray city. And all that is right next to the condo! Can’t say enough about how convenient everything was! It was a trip of a lifetime! Thank you Retreat 13!

We just returned from 4 days at this unit, and we are still on a high after a wonderful vacation. I traveled with my husband and two daughters (ages 5 and almost 3), and we loved this side of the island. We split up our trip between Seven Mile Beach and Rum Point, and this was hands down our preferred side of the island. We wanted somewhere beachfront that wouldn't break the bank, and this condo fit the bill. Despite a few negative reviews about the construction next door, we still booked assuming most exterior work would be complete by mid-March. Well, the estimated completion of the complex was pushed back from June to Dec, so my own assumptions about the disturbance being minimal were wrong. We really weren't able to lounge on the lanai during the day because of the noise, and while this was initially a bummer, by our 2nd day we realized that we didn't want to hang on the lanai anyway. We wanted to be out exploring the gorgeous beach and surrounding areas! One big thing I was not expecting was for the new property to nearly by on top of the condo. I feel bad for Matt and Tracey, the owners! I strongly believe that pictures of this listing should be updated with what the full view from the lanai looks like so that future renters understand that a big building is RIGHT next door (maybe 40 feet away --- so close!), simply for expectation management. I 100% believe that once this construction is done, the lanai will be enjoyable. The view of the ocean that is still there is OUTSTANDING. We loved waking up to the many shades of blue water! Beautiful. Three (fixable) negatives: the air mattress was not usable because the batteries were so rotten or expired that they have damaged the air mattress. When we unfolded it, lots of "ash" came out, which we discovered was from old batteries. We had to put our daughters in the pull-out bed together because of this, which was fine, but took adjusting. Also, when we pulled out the pull-out couch, the mattress topper had several spots that looked like dried blood, which my husband believed was actually just rust. Needs to be replaced for sure. Also, our girls had to take showers instead of baths because the drain stopper wouldn't go down to fill the tub. Also needs to be replaced. Otherwise the unit is BEAUTIFUL, clean, and well stocked. The master bedroom is MASSIVE, which was great for spreading out! CAN'T recommend this unit enough for its proximity to everything. UNREAL! Best set of units on Grand Cayman!

Great condo, great resort on the absolute best part of Grand Cayman. However, I can’t recommend staying here until the next door construction is completed. The yelling (morning safety meeting??) starts at 6:50 am, regular construction noise (hammering, drills, back-up vehicle beeping) continues until 5 pm, adding insult to the entire process are two additional items-a generator runs all night long so you can’t enjoy the ocean from the patio and there is no such thing as a day off for the workers. They work weekends and holidays as well. That means no break for condo inhabitants also. The rental price just happened to be more than what we had paid when splitting a two bedroom unit with friends in previous years so that didn’t help either. I’m writing this so you will understand what it is currently like there, I can’t stress it enough that when the construction is complete, this will once again be a wonderful place to stay.

We could have not found a better place to celebrate 35 years of marriage. I knew from the moment we walked in my wife would not want to leave. And I was right. We can not thank Matt and Tracey enough for opening their place to us. The accommodations were beyond our expectations. We hope to return!

This is a five star condo, but I could only give it a 3 star now due to the ongoing construction at the new condo complex immediately adjacent to this condo. This third floor condo is very nice, spacious, and very well equipped. It is less than a 3 minute walk from the front door to the quiet beach. The best snorkeling on the island is directly in front of the beach. Construction is from 7 am (crew arrives at 6:30) until 5 pm seven days a week. Due to the construction noise, we were not able to use the lanai during the day. But the beach area is very quiet so we would have our morning coffee at the beach. We were aware of the construction before we made the reservations but decided to pick this condo due to the other amenities (location, snorkeling, beautiful condo). We are very happy with our decision and we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at this condo. We highly recommend this condo to those willing to give up using the lanai during daylight hours and wake up by 6:30 am.

What a great spot! We wanted a relaxing place, away from the crowds where we could enjoy the beach and snorkel. We sure found it at Rum & Kai. Matt and Tracey were great to work with. They answered all our questions and gave great advice on things to see and some fabulous restaurants on the island, plus kudos for being very upfront about the construction project next door when we booked back in March. As other's have stated, the condo was undoubtedly one of the most well appointed and decorated we have ever stayed at. The view from the lanai was spectacular. We made use of the beach chairs and beach umbrella when we explored Seven Mile Beach for the day and were so grateful they had extra snorkeling gear when my husband's mask strap broke. There were plenty of beach towels, lines and household stuff like trash bags, dishwasher detergent and paper products; even spices and cooking supplies! The beach was perfect and we were the only ones on it most of the time. Almost like our own private island! We took trips to Sting Ray City (you must do this!) and had an amazing night tour of the bio-luminescent bay nearby. Every morning we would walk down to the Kaibo Coffee shop to get a cup to-go and then continue on to tranquil Starfish Beach. We then spent the days on the beach and snorkeling the amazing reefs off the beach The really good stuff was a bit of a swim, but seeing that coral was oh so worth it. We saw turtles, barracuda, lobsters, eagle rays and even a nurse shark! We'd end each day at our own happy hour, watching the sunset from the beach. The restaurant and bar next door was handy for a casual lunch and the dinner was one of our favorites. We also really enjoyed dinners at Tukka and the Lighhouse. The Lionfish tacos at Eagle rays and pizza at Kaibo Beach Bar were a favorites as well. The building going up on the neighboring property looked to be nearing completion. There was certainly activity on the work site as we were warned, but nothing that distracted from our enjoyment. I looked on-line and can't believe how much those units are going for. We sure had a great stay and look forward to returning next year.
