Want to say at the outset that the four out of five stars for cleanliness has to do with the state of some of the “clean“ dishes. Had to do some re-cleaning, which doesn’t necessarily reflect on the owner or the cleaning staff. I’ve been coming to Twain Harte for five decades, and this was the first time I had air-conditioning. Made all the difference! My parents lived here for over 20 years, and had their “system“ of keeping their house cool on warm days. It worked most of the time, but usually fell apart with temperatures pushing triple digits. That’s what we had most of the days at this place. I can’t tell you how nice it was to walk off the lake, into a extremely comfortable cabin! Doesn’t hurt that it’s walking distance to the lake as well. Made it very enjoyable. We kept the capacity at around 10 or 11 the entire trip. To get to 18 would require a total of eight people sleeping on 4 separate available sofa beds. Keep that in mind, as that would only be comfortable for smaller occupants. Kevin was very responsive, and cleaning staff was on top of things. Looking forward to coming back.

The deck was good…bbq was filthy and tools all left out on it and were dirty beyond cleaning. Umbrellas great. Inside the stocked cabinets were too stocked with dishes.the curtains by the slider were dirty and filthy. The curtains in first room were broken and didn’t move. The bathroom rugs were so dirty and old…come on…super gross. The couches were nice but underneath was disgusting…not picking them up or moving them, just right at your feet level. The 5 kitchen towels is unreal for 5 days…there were two crappy looking small lake chairs that also were filthy left on our deck as we walked in…they looked broken, but we didn’t touch them. The beds were comfy but my shorter Sister needed a chair to get into the bed…too high…overall, the location and the deck saved the day…the cleanliness was terrible and this is coming from having come to TH for many, many years….It was nice to see a couple appliances that looked newish but this cabin needs a pick me up or a better cleaning service and about 200 bucks in curtains and bathroom and doorway rugs…also the bbq on the deck looks like its going to start a fire on the house and the bbq itself is broken…this place was a disappointment as the door to the the only remodeled room stuck and wouldn’t unlock so we didn’t even use it…..the generator went on automatically when we lost power so that was a star!!!

We had an amazing stay. Being able to walk to the lake in 2 minutes was awesome. The house was wonderful and had lots of options of where to sleep. The kitchen is well stocked, furniture is comfy, and the deck is just amazing. Plenty of space for everyone to eat, relax, play games, and just visit. I'd rent this place again for sure!

Cannot beat the location; housekeepers are poor; kitchen well stocked; but tight for 18 better for 8 to 10 people

We had such a great relaxing time at this property with a beautiful lake less then 1 minute walk around the corner , the town less then 5 minute drive and twain harte golf (9 hole ) about the same distance we had a Wonderfull time . The cabin was great with 3 large size bedrooms and incredible deck which we made full use of and honestly where we spent the majority of our time . Black Oak casino is only 20 minutes away by car so we tried our luck a couple of times .. never disappointed Twain harte is a special place as is the cabin we just rented .. it’s not new but it has character and everything we needed for an amazing stay . Highly recommend this cabin to anyone as it is perfectly located very fairly priced and ideal for any family getaway can’t wait to return . Peter

It was nice and close to everything

This property was exactly what we were looking for and a stones throw to the lake. We all had a great time at this property. The owners were very friendly and responsive. We will be coming back for sure!

Me and my family enjoyed our stay beautiful clean cabin had everything we needed for the weekend had a great time no problems only thing I can say is that the lake was closed we will definitely come back for another trip when the lake is open . Thanks Kevin :)

You get what you pay for here. The capacity is generous. Lots of beds and plenty of parking. This is the place for you if you don’t mind sharing space. The location is fantastic, walking distance to the lake, close to town, a ski resort, and a casino. The host was very responsive, answered all our questions quickly. A big storm came through during our stay which caused flooding. Kevin responded promptly and was caring and concerned. I recommend the queen bed mattress be replaced due to it sinking in the middle. It was quite uncomfortable for two people. Also bring your own dishwasher soap and trash bags!

Was a great house for the family to getaway to together. Downstairs was perfect for my daughter and husband and there 2 kids. Upstairs had enough room for the 5 of us plus could of fit more. Kitchen was stocked with everything you might need. Kevin responded quickly to any questions we had prior. Checking in n out was easy. The house was not as far up as we usually stay on our annual family trip to twain harte, but even better, it made it easier to get into twaine harte and a quick drive to sonora to enjoy the day at the shops.

Great property close to everything. Plenty of room to move around with a great deck to lounge and relax! Owner is very responsive with clear instructions of what you'll find. Great rental!

Awesome!

Our group of 7 people had a great time over the Labor Day weekend. The house’s location is hard to beat, literally 2 minutes walk to the Twain Harte lake. The house itself had a nice outdoor space and everything we needed, including the AC which was a godsend over what was a 100+ temperature weekend. The property manager was super responsive and helpful both before the trip and during.

This was a great property for our family and friends. It had everything we needed for our stay. We loved being so close to the lake which allowed members of our party to walk back for lunch or naps for the littles - not so much fun trying to find parking and getting into a hot car. We wouldn't hesitate to return. Highly recommended.

This cabin had the perfect set up and perfect location for our annual trip to Twain Harte. The younger adults enjoyed the detached bedroom downstairs. The open floor plan upstairs was awesome. The air conditioning was a much needed relief from the heat. The deck was a beautiful setting for a late evening drink and card games. WE would definetly love to stay here again.

I agree with so many others who've had positive experiences staying here. Given the warm summer weather (temps in the 90's all week), we really appreciated the central A/C. And we loved dining and generally hanging out on the spacious deck -- even when it was still sunny and warm in the late afternoon, there was lots of shade between the umbrellas and trees. Perfect for happy hour! We spent most days at TW lake with other friends who were also staying in town but if it were not for them, we probably would have spent a full day or two at Pinecrest Lake to take a break from the crowds. Twain Hart Lake is sweet but small, and the beach area was packed though everyone was considerate and friendly (no blasting music!). And it's awesome for kids. Even our teen boys had a good time carousing, floating on our SUP boards, playing sand volleyball and drinking too many frozen lemonades from the Snack Shack. Overall we had a wonderful 5 days and are already looking forward to returning.

So close to the lake, with great AC, Wifi, and water pressure--and everything we needed to cook and grill. Location's very quiet at night. The rugs are well-used but hey that's less to worry about with kids running around. The fully fenced deck with comfortable furnishings was fabulous. The owner is super helpful and very easy to work with. Will definitely be back!

We have been traveling to Twain Harte every summer for years and this location is by far the best. With 2 adults and 6 teenagers it was so handy to be able to walk down to the lake. We had our girls in the downstairs room, which they loved because it was like their own apartment. Our boys were fine on the bunk beds upstairs. Lots of space to spread out and the deck is perfect. We also had our dog with us and it was nice to have the entire deck enclosed with gates. Some of the appliances could use updates and one of the queen beds has a bit of a sag in the middle, but nothing that we couldn't handle. Oh, and the place was immaculate when we arrived...easy check-in too. What can I say, we will be back!

Very beautiful place grate place to relax with family

The only complaint is the Kitchen and living Room to small for our family. Which we had 17. No privacy if had to sleep in the living room couches.

We had a great stay at Kevin's cabin in Twain Harte. We traveled to nearby Moaning Cave, Sonora and Columbia with our family and our friends that stayed with us. The cabin was bigger than we expected with a well stocked kitchen. We would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to stay in the area. The deck was so nice in the evenings and I only wish we had that umbrella I saw on the listing photos during the day, but didn't think to ask. Thanks for a great stay!
