We loved Voyager Rest. So many interesting items and thought-provoking artifacts from around the world and different time periods. We arrived in a significant snowfall, which only added to the experience and natural beauty of the property.

We had a great couple of days at Voyageur's Rest. The location was fabulous, with beautiful views of the valley and mountains and just minutes from the entrance to Timberline Mountain. The house was as described in the posting, with a great kitchen, comfortable living area, and an outdoor grill. The space was even bigger than we anticipated, with plenty of rooms and bathrooms. We spent a pleasant few hours in the hot tub enjoying the warmth and the view, and the myriad and varied decorations from all over the world made for a great game of "I spy".

For a quiet time away from everything, this is a good place. It would be helpful to know where the nearest pharmacy and/or grocery is - for more than convenience store choices. Davis seemed too far to backtrack, but I thought I'd remembered other options available during previous stays. Challenging road - 4W Drive only - during snowy periods... but that's adventure!

We had a great stay. Definitely loved the area. I had an issue with the door code and Jim was very responsive even though he was overseas.

Beautiful wooded area with great view. Comfortable house and kitchen equipped sufficiently for a thanksgiving dinner. Family loved hot tub! Some good hiking in area. Easy drive from Baltimore.

Beautiful views and everything about the house was perfect. Location within Timberlake offered many amenities. Jim Hopkins, the property manager, was responsive and eager to provide information to enhance our stay. The large property provided privacy and a perfect environment for our dogs. Can’t say enough. We returned to the area for several years, and this was the best.

Voyager Rest is a fantastic place to stay at. It has a rustic look that is breath taking. the inside is rustic looking and has so many unique cultural displays on the walls from so many countries and time periods you are just mesmerized by it. The view from the balcony is astonishing, we saw deer, turkeys, and coyotes. The birds we saw and photograph was unreal and breath taking. Davis is a fantastic town to visit the shops and people are so friendly they make you feel like you have been apart of the community. We were greatly appreciative to the owner at Voyager Rest for his help and his wonderful hospitality highly recommend this VRBO to anyone and you will have awesome experience

When searching for a place to accommodate our family we were looking for location & something especially unique in charm. Firstly, James (our property manager) was great at communication. We felt welcomed before we even arrived. 2ndly, the scenery as we arrived was so lovely we took time to take that in before we even stepped inside. But with walking through the entrance we were immediately taken back and continued taking every step within one foot at a time. The images do not to this place justice! Wow . . . is an understatement. We immediately felt like we'd arrived into a world all in of it's own. Everything you might need (besides personal toiletries) is provided! So much for the senses to take in from every seat you might be sitting in! Cozy, comfy, calming, not to mention the collection of life this charming place has to offer. It's located perfectly to all site seeing you might want to do. Cooking, reading, movie viewing, gaming, dining, hiking, hot tub soaking, breathtaking scenery & wildlife viewing! Every nook & cranny is jam packed with insight & inspiration for the senses! We enjoyed visiting some of the galleries & eateries in Thomas & Davis & Canaan Valley. We spent time on Canaan Loop Rd, Blackwater Falls, Pendleton Point & Dolly Sods. Even took Big Tuna kayak for a paddle on the Sand Run Lake. Discovering this new home away from home has been added to our favorite experiences of 2023 and we intend to revisit as soon as we can! Thank you once again James ♥

We really enjoyed our time at Voyager Rest. The cabin was just as we expected. Beautifully decorated and had everything you would need for a restful stay in the mountains. The view was just gorgeous!!! Would definitely come back for a future stay. Jim was great as well. Checking in to make sure we had everything we needed and got back to us quickly if we had any questions. Saw lots of deer and even turkeys. Was waiting to see a bear, but, that didn’t happen, lol. Maybe next time!!!

My wife and I can’t say enough about this beautiful place! We had an absolutely perfect weekend there celebrating her birthday and relaxing in nature’s beauty! We loved all the decorations, amazing kitchen, copper sinks, natural stone showers, back patio and deck overlooking the Allegheny mountains and Canaan Valley. So many things to do, including Blackwater Falls and Dolly Sods. Next time we visit we’ll use the kayaks and hot tub. We enjoyed using the propane grill and fire pit. A thunderstorm on our last night was so amazing and beautiful with the thunder echoing between the mountains and across the valley and lightning lighting up sections of the sky like a quilt pattern, it left us speechless. Any time we plan another trip in this area, we would love to stay here again! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Our group of 4 take a hiking trip every year and we chose Davis, WV! We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home! The host was so helpful, answered our questions and gave us information about places to visit and hike. I wish we could have had more time in the area, but a good reason to come for another visit!

We've been staying at this property every July-August for the last 5 years. Great access to the Dolly Sods Wilderness and great lot. The owner is readily available too.

Jim’s home was wonderfully peaceful, well maintained and had close access to hiking trails. We used his kayak on the lake and he gave us some “must see” places we visited. Check in and checkout directions were easy and Jim made himself available via text if we needed to get ahold of him. The lookout down the hill of his property had a milkweed meadow in full bloom and the floral scent of the milkweed, the dancing monarchs and the hummingbirds visiting the milkweed was a rare treat.

Amazing home and location...we all loved our stay. My dog too! Drinking coffee and wine on the upper deck, witnessing beautiful views and practicing yoga and meditation on the patio...heaven.

The house was fun to see collectibles form all over the world and the grounds outside were set up for enjoying the beauty of the area.

We had a wonderful 3-night stay! The home is uniquely decorated, which was fun and interesting. We all enjoyed the stone showers and gorgeous views and sunsets off the back porch. The kitchen had everything we could want. This home is convenient to many surrounding spots we wanted to visit: Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks, Canaan Valley Wildlife Refuge, and Blackwater Falls State Park. It is convenient to restaurants with some options within 10 minutes and more in Davis about 20 minutes away. We would absolutely stay here again. The owner was communicative and easy to work with and we appreciate him opening his home to share!

We had such a great family weekend away! The unique decor was definitely a plus. I didn’t hear one “I’m bored” from my teens the whole time. The house was excellent with all of the amenities we needed. Very clean and well cared for. A beautiful view and perfect location. We truly enjoyed our stay at Voyager’s Rest!

Great decor - totally unique! We enjoyed the firepit and the Jacuzzi hot tub outside on the large property with a beautiful view.

Everything about this place was great. Before arriving, we got a very detailed packet about the house and its surroundings, AND the many things to do in the surrounding area. It was quite detailed and up to date — really well done. Our host was quickly responsive to questions I had before our stay, which I really appreciated. The kitchen is very well equipped. The house has a LOT of interesting collectibles from around the world. But unlike other homes I’ve been in with a lot of *stuff,* this one was virtually dust-free: top marks for good housekeeping! The downstairs master bedroom was comfortable with a good bed. The stone shower was pretty cool! The hot tub is right outside the sliding door from the downstairs master, so very easy to access. It was clean, worked well and very comfortable. There are cabins visible through the early spring trees to either side but they’re not very close. A little creek gurgles downhill past The house - it makes a lovely soundtrack for sitting on the back deck with a book. This was a great place and I hope to go there again!

This house is packed with treasures from around the world. It has a wonderful kitchen. Comfy beds. The hot tub was a hit.

Simply wonderful. From the host to the property to the inside and outside of the home. Could not ask for more. Furnished with the highest quality and decorate beyond expectations. So authentic. Perfect getaway for a long weekend in the mountains with the family! House was clean and cozy, location/view was beautiful, and Jim (Owner) was highly communicative - even suggested some great ideas for hikes! Definitely will return in the future.

The cabin, location and owner were excellent! Looking forward to coming back this summer! All the little artifacts all over the cabin will keep you busy for days , the kitchen was fully stocked, good enough for Thanksgiving dinner and large TV with a real fireplace was a plus!

The house is beautiful and up to date with amazing appliances, hot tub, gorgeous stone showers and comfy beds. The antiques are outstanding. We could have looked at them all day every day and still not see them all. We would definitely recommend this home.

Wow! As soon as you walk in you'll notice the elaborate, authentic decorations from all over the world. The owners are clearly well-travelled and their beautiful house is decorated in interesting souvenirs from their jet-setting over the years. The facilities are top-notch, the view superb, and location perfect for days on the slopes of Timberline Resort.
