It was a great location for the proximity to the GHB airport, as well as to many of the sites we visited. Although the apartments had a few hiccups (not each one was fully stocked, one door handle broke off, and some power issues in a couple of apartments), the staff was very quick to respond and generally came over to fix the problem within a matter of the day. We loved the golf carts, and the easy access to both beaches. Our group had a great time and look forward to going back someday soon.

Each condo was well maintained, well appointed with what families needed and had amazing views. Everyone loved the golf carts, amazing sandy private Atlantic beach with great waves, Caribbean beach for snorkeling and kayaking and heated pool. Property is in a great central location on Eleuthera, people made it from Light House Beach in the South to Harbour Island and Spanish Wells in the North and everything in between on our days there. Very close to grocery store in James Cistern. Sonya the property manager and her staff were welcoming and accommodating. If you are thinking about a trip to a family island in the Bahamas, where you can spend days being the only people an beach after beautiful beach this is the place for you!

Both units were clean, comfortable, modern, attractively decorated, and with "picture postcard" views of both the Atlantic and the Caribbean.

A sparsely populated beach was a short walk or golf cart ride away. Buttonwood Reserve is convenient to Governors Harbor, James Cistern, and Rainbow Bay, with their wide range of delightful restaurants. The Governors Harbor Airport is a six-minute drive from Buttonwood.

The sun was warm, the weather soothing, and the holiday a real treat for us.

This proved to be no issue at all, specifically because the management team at Buttonwood were so supportive and understanding of our situation.

The one thing Buttonwood has above all is ample space - so if you are a large group who wants to be together, but have your own space - this is the perfect place. There were 31 of us total with kids, and you never felt on top of each other. The condos are clean and feel up to date. The amenities were superb. Having your own golf cart was critical and really fun to access both sides of the island. The pool was warm at all times and the property is well maintained, unlike in some of our previous experiences in the Bahamas.

We would DEFINITELY stay here again.

Some activistes to make but all the time relax

The condo is new, clean and decorated nicely. It is well stocked with all the beach supplies you could need. The kitchen is also well stocked. My kids loved golf cart rides to the beach, taking the kayaks out, and exploring the beautiful beaches of Eleuthera. It was also nice to have access to a pool at the end of each day. We have loved our stay at Buttonwood!

We just stayed at one of the villas at Buttonwood Reserve and highly recommend to anyone coming to Eleuthera seeking a new and very clean place to hang their hat, enjoy stunning water views, spend time on a gorgeous private beach with (we suppose depending on your time there) no one on it, swim in a heated pool, etc. The location is great for trips to Governor's Harbour and Palmetto Point, very close by James Cistern settlement with a great little grocery store/liquor store and a beach bar called Leo Rose's, also Rainbow Bay with beach and inn just 10 minutes up the road. Buttonwood Reserve is a hidden gem in our minds and we can't say enough about the amenities and excellent concierge service that comes with a stay here. The people were great.

Buttonwood Reserve is a wonderful property for exploring the island of Eleuthera. A central location to a variety of beautiful beaches. After a long day exploring, it was nice to come back to a luxurious condo. Special thanks to the owner and staff for all the advice on activities and car rental options. The condo was well stocked with everything we needed. We appreciated having a dishwasher and washer/dryer in the condo. No one likes to clean dishes or do laundry while on vacation; but these conveniences made things easier. WiFi signal was great! But even better were the amazing views we had each morning and evening of the ocean from the back patio. Thank you! Can't wait to come back.

First time in Eleuthera and we think we have found paradise at Buttonwood Reserve. Beautiful, modern condos and two oceans to choose from - one walking distance and the other 5 minutes away in a complimentary golf buggy. We spent two weeks there (2 adults and 2 kids age 19, 14) and visited most of the beaches in the area. It is true what they say about Eleuthera as we were almost always the only ones on the beach. The Buttonwood staff are very friendly and attentive - Tia was there to greet us and Patrick kept the garden looking wonderful throughout our stay. A 4x4 is essential if you want to access Twin Cove beach (great snorkelling spot) and Surfers Beach (good for boogie boarding). If you fancy a change from the beaches then just jump in the heated pool at Buttonwood. We bought some Red Snapper from the local fishermen (which they kindly filleted for us) in James Cistern (local town) and fried them in garlic, lime and onions which was as tasty as it sounds! In summary, great memories (particularly the sunsets from the condo decking) and I would recommend Buttonwood Reserve to anyone who justs wants to get away from it all.

Room: The unit looked just like the pictures. The furniture is still in good shape, and for the most part everything looked brand new. The view from the rear deck is to the west, over the trees and toward the water. With the curtains open you can see this view from the living room and kitchen. From the front bedroom, you have a pleasant view toward the property grounds. The mobile hotspot for wireless worked well, but was limited if you're planning on streaming or other heavy usage. Satellite TV (PR DirecTV feed) had more movies than I would have anticipated for standard programming. Property: The grounds were well maintained, most mornings staff was on site doing landscaping work. The pool was clean, but I prefer the warmth of the ocean water. The path to the beach on the golf cart is a fun ride. The beach itself is isn't far from the well-known surfing locations, so during out stay the waves were too rough to swim, but would have been great for water sports. On a calm day there should be good snorkeling at a shipwreck not far from the beach. Location: There's a lot of activity 20 mins north or south of Buttonwood. This gives you a lot of options when planning out a day, since anything between Gregory Town and Governor's Harbor is easily reached. The convenience store about a mile north of the property stays open late on Sunday unlike most. There is also a gas and service station just inside town. My preference has typically been to stay in Governor's Harbour, but Buttonwoods spot just outside of James Cistern was very convenient and worked extremely well for us. Buttonwood is in-between a hotel and detached rental home. The unit is spacious and has the amenities of a home, but has the larger staff of a hotel that's readily available to assist when needed, and perhaps the comfort of not being alone in the middle of nowhere. The upstairs unit would offer a bit more privacy and move closer towards the detached home feeling. You could nitpick some details if you wanted, but this is Eleuthera, and that is true for the whole island. Overall, Buttonwood is a rental that's good at what it tries to be.

My wife and I recently spent a week at Buttonwood Reserve on the beautiful island of Eleuthera. The property itself is situated on a bluff overlooking both the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. While the property is brand new, it nonetheless has the feel of a seasoned resort. The residences are spacious and beautifully decorated. Modern appliances, remote control A/C units and quality finishes make for a pleasant and comfortable stay. The residences are completely equipped with dinnerware, utensils, cooking supplies, an abundant supply of towels and of course a brand new washer/dryer. The pool is large, warm and relaxing. Comfortable seating and umbrellas make lounging by the pool a special treat. When we arrived, our unit (unit B) was spotless thanks to Brenda and her team. Patrick (Brenda's husband) is the groundskeeper and Jack of all trades. Both Brenda and Patrick could not have been more accommodating. By the end of our week, we felt as if we had known them for a lifetime. Buttonwood is located perfectly to both the Airport and to some of the most beautiful beaches on the planet. Do not miss Coco Di Mamma, Ten Bays, Rainbow or Twin-cove beaches. There are plenty of great eating venues on the Island, most with spectacular sunsets provided. Some of our favorites were The Beach House, Sunset Grill, Da Perk and the Bucaneer. And don't miss Norma's gift shop in Governours Harbor. Tracy, the proprietor is a gracious and helpful host. Finally, I can not say enough about the warm, friendly and hospitable people of Eleuthera. Every where we went we were greeted with happy smiling faces eager to help with any questions you may have. We stayed at Buttonwood Reserve for 7 days in March (family of 5). Buttonwood Reserve was 3 minutes from the Governor's Harbor airport. The property was new and well cared for. A couple of minor pieces needed to be given some attention, but staff was on-hand every day for any sort of need (wi-fi, snorkeling gear, laundry detergent, etc). Patrick and Brenda were the helpful hosts, and were great resources for any sort of need or question. The views from the balcony in the back were great (sunset, star gazing, turquoise waters). The property is growing, so there was construction during the day next door (but wasn't a bother). Eleuthera is really rustic, private, and underdeveloped, but in the best way. It was rare to see anyone else on the beaches. Some beaches were so shallow that our 4 year old could wade out 250 feet. Restaurants were hit and miss:Rainbow Inn, Tippy's (great food, very slow service), and The Cove were superb. Nearby Harbor Island is also worth a day or two for their shopping, restaurants (Sip Sip and Rock House Hotel), and Pink Sand beaches. We will be back.

It was a pleasant surprise when we arrived at Buttonwood and the condo was better than described online. Being a first time VRBO customer, we had our doubts. These units are professionally managed and maintained and Patrick and Brenda always seem to be close when you may need something. Always helpful with details about Eleuthera, what to do and where to go. Buttonwood is only 5 minutes from the Airport and is an excellent home base for explorers like me. Matthew was very professional and very helpful in our booking process. Much like the previous review, we can't say enough positive things about Buttonwood. We watched the sun sink into the Caribbean on many wonderful evenings. Well Done!
