Reviewer Comments: We have rented beach houses for over 25 years and owned a rental beach house for 5. This house had a well supplied kitchen. That was wonderful! Many games, movies and books also. The biggest disappointment was the condition of all of the mattresses on the beds! The king and two queens are terrible! We would never rent there again because of that. We go away to have a restful vacation and the sleeping conditions ruined that. There were roaches in the kitchen by Thursday and Friday. The two shower drains on the main floor did not drain well. We would be standing in two inches of water while showering. The dishwasher was not draining properly, but someone from the rental company came out to fix that.

Great house, supplied with everything you need... master bedroom views stunning. Very impressed with WWP, the few issues we had (ie, flat tire) were taken care of as soon as possible. It’s been 10 years since our last visit to BHI, we’ll be back soon!

Halfway back, the cart went dead and my husband and son had to push the cart home home as the other son steered. (This was in the rain.) The cart had not been plugged in fully/long enough, as we had no problems with it the remainder of the week. There were bugs in the first floor bath tub when we arrived and more in the kitchen. A fellow just showed up to the door to work on the HVAC one morning. He was there for two hours. No one called us to tell us he was coming. We called the office to make sure it was someone who had been authorized by the homeowners to come. Finally, the chain, in the tank , came loose on the downstairs toilet, my husband fixed that.

Location is excellent, the house is updated with nice appliances and the garage is full of beach toys for the kids - also lots of games, movies and books inside. Everything worked well (WiFi etc). We had a couple of issues with one of the golf carts and the property managers sent someone out to fix it within an hour.

Very clean and the kitchen had all the little items that you needed. the location was just right for enjoying the sunset. the only thing I would like to see is an updated golf cart. It was very slow and the headlights so bad that driving at night was very difficult.

We just went for the weekend, myself, husband and 4 kids 7 and under. We decided at the last minute to go, and the rental agency was very accommodating. The house was very clean, well stocked, had lots of dishes, glasses, etc that sometimes are skimpy in rental homes. The view was amazing, and we loved sitting in the hot tub looking at the ocean. We also really enjoyed the old VHS tapes for the kids to watch movies up in the loft, and the game closet to keep us busy during the rain. We will definitely return to this house!

My wife and I were looking for a quiet, peaceful spot to spend some time away with our two children. Watercolor on BHI was exactly what we where looking for! Only saw six people on the beach our entire stay. When people say you have the beach to yourself, they mean it. It truly was the most relaxing spot we have ever been to. The accommodations were perfect. Direct private beach access. The porch on this house is a wonderful place to sit, eat or just relax and listen to the ocean. Inside has everything a family or any group may need. Perfect bedrooms, wonderful living space, and we just loved the kitchen. There were bikes and carts for exploring the island. We will definitely be back.

We have stayed at this house with our family (2 young kids, us, and grandparents) as well as with other friends. It is perfect for both. There were plenty of comfortable beds, there are cribs, baby gates, the kitchen has everything, and the hot tub is very relaxing. There are tons of games, books, and movies (my kids discovered a love for the Berenstain Bears on our first visit that has lasted through the years). We have returned many times and will continue to do so. The beach is right there, and there are golf carts (one big and one small) to go anywhere. We only used the pass for the club once, because there are so many other things to do at the house and around the island. It truly is a retreat away from everything that continues to draw us back.

BHI and Watercolor accommodate so well whatever wants and needs a family, a group of friends, a couple, or even just an individual might be looking for. Watercolor is on the beach, with a walkway directly off the back deck -- great for children. There are bikes and electric carts to explore the island quietly, seeing wildlife very often (deer, rabbits, birds, and others), plus walking trails into the nature preserve where one sees trees of great size and shapes. For sports, the island offers both golf and tennis, with the tennis pro one who is an accomplished player and a solid instructor. We enjoy kayaking, and found the options of kayaking throughout the marsh to be a different experience for ones who typically do rivers or the ocean. We also found the food at several locations to be both varied and accommodating to the tastes of both children, teenagers, and adults. Mornings offered quick trips via electric cart to get both good coffee (varied selections), a light breakfast, or a more full one -- all each morning very good. The house itself, Watercolor, was very comfortable. We found it very clean and ready for our arrival, the carts ready for exploring, the rocking chairs on the back deck looking out to the ocean beckoning immediately, and our locating very quickly where things were (cooking utensils, towels, etc.). The house is very open for guests, with a large sitting area with lots of windows facing the ocean, and the bedrooms each offering privacy. We have been there twice, once with several others and once just as a couple, finding both times to be most enjoyable, and the house set up so that guests can be with others or can have time to be more alone. The hot tub was clean, worked well, and became the standard ending of each day. Although we brought our own books to read, the selection of books and videos was varied and one could find books and videos of interest for most any taste. Finally, although there is everything one might want on the island and at Watercolor, the ferry ride back to the mainland is quick and enjoyable, and the town there offers shopping at a variety of quaint and unique stores. We recommend this property highly, and will return again later this year of 2017.
