Pro's: great view with big balcony, professional management, close proximity to ocean with multiple pools, spacious unit
Con's: broken refrigerator with backup installed that crowded kitchen, old carpet installed throughout, limited underground parking, no functioning ice maker in unit, slow food and drink service in pool area

The listing showed an updated clean condo. We got there and the refrigerator was not working and they added an additional cheap refrigerator that was placed in the kitchen, making it hard to move around. The Curtains were filthy and stained. All the indoor and outdoor cushions were stained and needed to be replaced, and the throw rug in the living area was not vacuumed upon arrival. This was very underwhelming for the amount of money we paid. The bathroom tub backed up and we were able to get someone out to fix it right away so that was nice. The wine cooler did not work well and the dryer took 2-3 times to run in order to dry items.
Checking in was a production, and there was only one individual working. He was very nice, however we waited nearly an hour to get our keys and the car parked and no cart to help with our luggage. Additional staff is needed. We went two days with only 4 of the 6 bracelets due to them being short.
Overall the cleanliness was subpar at best. The location was great, and we are glad to have stayed in the tower we were in since the other tower was under construction.
We would think that for the money we spend we would be compensated for the lack of cleanliness and broken unusable items.

While the weather was challenging, the accommodations were great. They need to update the tv (not a smart tv) had a couple minor issues with appliances but overall it was a beautiful home with a perfect view! Very comfortable for a family of 4. Would stay here again in this unit.

We had a few problems that we managed through ok but think they should be fixed.
The shower in the main bathroom shower had no pressure. The freezer sticks really bad. Hard to open and close. The dryer does not dry very well and takes a long time.
We loved the view and the complex. Overall happy we stayed there.
They definitely need more help. The security guard was amazing. He was everywhere doing everything. Very impressive.

Excellent Spacious 3 Bedroom
The property is excellent - spacious, clean, nicely appointed. Parking can be a bit of an issue and we had to wait about half an hour to check in because our flight was late (arrived on property at 1 am). We added a late checkout, but the key was not updated automatically so we were locked out when we needed to pack. It was fixed but took about an hour. Those are the only complaints and they were minor.

We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Boardwalk and easy access to the beach was a huge plus. Duke's also serves the best drinks we had on the island! I would rebook again for a future vacation stay.

The Honua Kai resort was the perfect place for our family Hawaii vacation. The three bedroom condo was equipped with everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable. The ocean front view was incredible. We saw many whales during our March visit. The grounds were beautiful and the staff were also very friendly

Perfect space and location for our family trip
We loved our stay at Honua Kai Konea 825/829. The condos are beautiful with well equipped kitchens, great bathrooms and comfortable beds -- the perfect set-up for two families traveling together. Generous lanais with doors that open the entire wall of the living room to the outside afforded dead-on views of whales playing in the surf, rainbows and sunsets. The kids loved the many pool options at Honua Kai and we loved the pina coladas from Duke's! Walking the beach boardwalk down Kaanapali beach is the perfect way to start the day. There is a great reef for snorkeling right in front of the property, although we would recommend entering the beach in front of the Westin next door where the beachfront is bit wider and sandier. Maui Resort Rentals was friendly and attentive throughout the booking process and our stay. We would definitely book here again and will recommend to friends.

It’s a beautiful resort that is very well cared for.
The location of Honua Kai was great. The boardwalk is handy for exercise. The fitness room was very good. We loved the deck for morning coffee. It was great that all three bedrooms had water views!

Loved our suite. Fantastic service by Meghan in Guest Experiences. Beautiful surroundings. Could have made snorkeling and other activities complimentary for guests. Other than the pool, nothing available for my grandchildren ages 11-16 yrs old. This could have improved our stay.

Great room
Great room.... great views, good care from owners. (hot as heck during the afternoon) the sun beats directly into the sliding glass door. There are no extras like chairs, beach stuff for visitors. Other than that, clean and decent price.

We had a fantastic week at these condos!
The location was great! The accommodations were so nice for all 11 of us to stay in. We rented 2 - 3 bedroom condos right in the middle and had gorgeous views of the resort and the ocean.
We did have great customer service and we would recommend this place to everyone we talk to.

The view!
We enjoyed our stay in this unit. The beds were very comfy and Maui Resorts provided inflatable beds for our young granddaughters. Nice linens and towels. Overall, a great experience. On the plus side - the washer and dryer were great, kitchen is lovely and the furnishings were comfortable. We appreciated the sand toys and beach chairs. A huge negative was the dishwasher that did not work consistently and smelled horrible. We ended up washing dishes every day. Other units we have stayed in at Honua Kai have had food baggies, some seasoning and a few condiments. This unit had none of those things, a minor inconvenience.
We would definitely stay in this unit again and recommend it.

Beautiful condo in a great location
Six adults shared this condo and we had plenty of room. We loved the location. We were able to see whales jumping and spouting from the balcony. We highly recommend this condo!

Beautiful property and looks just like the pictures!
We had a wonderful stay at this location. The views were amazing. We were a party of 4 adults and 3 children (infants), and this condo was perfect for us. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. We used the in-unit washer and dryer daily. We did not have a single complaint about our stay. Everything was perfect. I'd highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

Wonderful vacation
Gave this unit a 4 star because the Mattress are way too soft. Each bed has an indentation where the previous person slept. All had back issues while here. Pillows have the same problem. Didn’t sleep well at all. Also the internet is spotty. ...keep letting bounced off and very slow for people who need to work while on vacation. Otherwise beautiful condo.

Our family vacation at Honua Kai by Maui Resort Rentals was fantastic...We were a group of 8 from old to young (my 17 month old son)...The suite had everything we needed and more...The customer service provided by Maui Resort Rentals was above and beyond and super convinient given I was bringing my toddler...Everything from assisting with renting a crib to booking tours...The suite was neat and tidy and the view amazing...Would stay again...
