Arriving to the cottage,at first glance, so beautiful! That never changes, and keeps getting better! We only stayed 5 nights, departure day, i probably could have cried. Serenity, peace, lots of wild life, deer sightings daily,and a small black bear the first day while on the golf cart on our way to the fishing pond. Out of about 10 vrbo rentals, this one is hands down my favorite! So awesome i booked immediately upon return home for next year! Ellens cottage has so many fun things to do, no way possible to get bored! We cannot wait to return next summer!!!

This was our third stay at the cottage. We had a wonderful time as usual.

The tiny cottage is just that: tiny. It's beautifully redone inside, but don't pack anything because every cabinet and cupboard are full. Granted, all the camping gear and so forth are useful, but I couldn't even find a place to hang up my clothes. Since you have to bring in all groceries--the nearest store is 30 min away--having no pantry or cabinet space was a problem. A number of the outdoor lights were inoperable which almost resulted in myself and my dogs being bitten by a rattlesnake (twice!), and when I booked the vacation in 2022 it was still listing a heated pool--not the case. With temps in the low 40's at night, the pool was an Arctic glacier in June. The nearby pond was warmer. Also lacking was any sort of lounge chair that folded flat so one could at least relax in the sun. I used my otherwise useless raft. It's scenic and beautiful and would make a lovely equestrian property, but definitely bring your hiking boots if you want to trek up the 45 degree incline to the property's paths. Zero cell service, and I even tried through wi-fi. Although this is listed in the property description, it did make an emergency situation an absolute nightmare. It's quaint, it's beautiful, it's primarily peaceful, but it just wasn't at all what I hoped.

My boyfriend and I brought our two pups to have a quiet getaway and relax for a few days. The pups loved that they could roam free on the property and do lots of exploring. The golf cart was perfect to go explore all the available land. We saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed the awesome views. Everything we needed to make breakfast, lunch and dinner was there at the cottage. Would definitely stay again!

Just a couple friends and their pups whom needed a short vacation from their busy responder lifestyles. This place was absolutely beautiful. Pictures do not do it justice. Our pups absolutely enjoyed the free reign to explore and we have memories to cherish forever. There is wildlife in the wee hours of the night so be sure to monitor the pups closely. However, that’s what sets this place apart. To be one with nature. We will be back. Thank you for allowing us to let go of reality for a few days!

We had an amazing time! Excellent communication from the host. Well stocked kitchen (we especially appreciate all the coffee makers, heated cups, and Tupperware). Wi-Fi was fast and strong enough to work from the cottage. The property is incredibly beautiful, completely private. Our dogs had the best time running free for miles and miles. A perfect quiet and peaceful getaway from the city. Hope to come back soon :)

If your are looking to have some peace and quiet, this is the place to be. With so many things to do on the property, there is no reason to leave. The dogs had great fun running around and were so tired at the end of the day. We will return.

Rented for a getaway weekend and we had a wonderful visit! We were attracted by this property because pets are welcome, and our two larger dogs love to travel with us where we can. Some highlights: - The property is beautiful and has lots of wide open spaces. My wife really enjoyed taking pictures of the landscape and wildlife, and the dogs ran with us behind the golf cart all the way to the back of the property. VERY remote and isolated which we loved. - The cottage itself is small but very comfy/cozy. We really enjoyed the fireplace and TV with lots of streaming options each evening. Kitchen was well stocked, and we cooked all our meals there without issue. - We also enjoyed stargazing at night - there is almost zero light pollution on the horizon, so perfect conditions for astrophotography and stargazing. Thanks, and we'll be back again!

This place is definitely a breath of fresh air. Everything was clean and operational. I’m definitely coming back.

We absolutely loved our time here. We had planned to make some day trips but we ultimately decided just to enjoy the cottage and surroundings and explore them farm. We will definitely be back!

Great getaway! Golf cart, e-bikes were lots of fun! Communication with owner is top notch! House is well stocked as described. Beautiful location and really enjoyed exploring the property on cleared trails. Quiet and peaceful. WiFi at house worked very well!

Wow! Where do we start? We booked this property as a last minute getaway for our son that was turning 15. We had so much fun we didn’t want to leave. From riding the golf cart through the trails, to riding the electric bikes, catching bass and perch in the pond, taking the kayaks out on the water, swimming in the pool while listening to music and grilling dinner. My son said it was the best birthday ever! As for the cottage itself, it was amazing! The bed was so comfortable it was hard to get out of bed in the morning. The water pressure in the shower was incredible. The only complaint we have is that one of the knives was caked with what looked like chopped broccoli and whoever used it last just placed it back in the knife block. I forgot to mention it to the owner so please don’t think that was our family that did that. The only recommendation we have is maybe adding a place to put our trash outside. A trash bin? We’d love to see a hot tub added too so we can enjoy coming during the cooler months. Overall, we will definitely return and recommend it to other families!

This is our third stay here, and we LOVE it. It hasn't changed a bit since our last stay 8 years ago. We love the privacy, the views, the FANTASTIC pool. It's still bliss. Thank you!

The owners did a great job curating a ton of experiences for us to enjoy - fully stocked inside and out from home items to recreational vehicles. Beautiful views and large farm. The pool was perfect and very private. We also enjoyed movie nights on the large big screen TVs. We only had a couple small issues, that you would expect in an older cabin, and the owners were amazing to address them and respond almost immediately to our questions.

This place is a gem! Its so peaceful away from all the chaos. Getting away from everyone and everything is underrated. I highly reccomend this place if you need a peaceful and comfortable escape.

As usual the stay was super. Five star plus. Cottage is beautiful inside and out and 300 acres to enjoy. View up top is Fantastic. Love to stay there.
