Love Gentle Winds: property, beach, Sunny Shack!!! All of it!! Hard to beat the location & value. Had a wonderful week!!

Spacious, well equipped condo! We had everything we needed! It was so easy to get anywhere on the island from this complex. We loved the beach, the pool and the food at the Tiki bar was excellent. I highly recommend this unit!

We had an issue with our reservation due to unforeseen circumstances. Jill and the owners were responsive and understanding, and worked with us to provide a resolution to our situation that was above and beyond what we expected. I would absolutely rent from them again without hesitation!

This was our first trip to the Virgin Islands. The resort was in immaculate condition, and the condo was just as described! There were no surprises! Once we figured out the air conditioning situation, everything else was just perfect!. The condo was cozy enough for our family to enjoy great quality time together, and roomy enough for us to spread out and have some privacy as well. The pool and beach area were in exceptional condition and we met some really wonderful people. The Sunny Shack offers some of the best food and drinks around, my kids spent a great deal of time down there, Thanks Nick!! We will definitely be back again!

This unit had everything we needed!

We've stayed all over the Caribbean and this was one of the best kept secrets around! The condo was ultra clean, and well appointed- we had pool toys, snorkeling equipment and even coolers in the unit. It's set on a very spread out, well maintained property with plenty of room to roam and play in the lawns around the unit. The cabana bar (closed in sept- oct by the way) had surprisingly good food and reasonably priced drinks with great service. We absolutely loved this hidden gem of a property, especially for the price point. 10-15 min drive to most places, but central to the island. Can't ask for more!

Jill was very helpful and patience with my all my questions. The check in process was easy, even though we checked in at midnight. The place was exactly as advertised. The place was plenty big enough to handle a family of six and stocked with everything we needed. The view from the condo was great, especially from the balconies. The complex is more like a resort than just a condo complex. Plenty to do, with tennis, basketball, ping pong and of course the pool and beach. The only downside is, the complex is fairly isolated, with the closest market about 15 minutes away. There is one restaurant close by called Flyers. I would definitely recommend it. A little pricey, but the food was great.

The condo was clean and generously supplied with everything we needed. The property is well maintained. Just one small maintenance issue with the lock on the front bedroom sliding door. We would rent this unit again for sure.

Great beach and pool, not busy at all. Not a far drive to town. Great views right off the balcony. Great place to stay!

Grounds are beautifully kept , clean pool and beach. Apartment has all the comforts of home and owner is easily accessible and accommodating .

The Gentle Winds property is well maintained outside. The unit we rented was really really dated and very dirty. The master closet door was off, the floor tiles are all cracked or chipped. The moldings on the doors have by all appearances never been dusted. The size of the condo is very generous, you could sleep 10 here but this place needs a real cleaning! We enjoyed Nick at the beach bar and spending time on the beach. The pool was great too, well maintained, lot's of seating and it's big.

This vacation was one of my family's favorite. We love St. Croix, and staying at Gentle Winds was the perfect location for quiet and relaxing with so much to do!

We enjoyed our week at Gentle Winds. Property and grounds were in outstanding condition considering it was less than a year ago that a major hurricane came through. Our unit was perfectly positioned to view the caribe and pool, while set back enough to offer privacy. Unit was amply stocked with essentials. WiFi is a necessity and was provided. Had a little problem with the TV on night one but was resolved quickly. Only knock is the bed on the upper level, very high off the ground, a step stool would have been appreciated. We’ve love St. Croix and been coming to the island since 1985 and previously owned a condo at another property that did not fare as well. I would highly encourage anyone considering a visit to Gentle Winds to look into this rental.

Great location; but too off season. A lot of places still closed due to last year’s hurricane. And very few tourists.

Condo The condo is clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, glasses, silverware, and cookware. It includes a breakfast bar that comfortably seats up to four people and a dining table that accommodates fix adults. The living area has a queen sized sleeper sofa and three chairs. The sofa and chairs are comfortable and well maintained. The sleeper sofa is also clean and appears to have been used only a few times. All three bathrooms and bedrooms are clean and well kept, and the beds are also comfortable and clean. Location Gentle Winds is in a convenient location, and the grounds are spectacular. Christiansted is a short, easy drive, Cane Bay is less than 10 minutes away, and Frederiksted is only a leisurely 30 minutes away. Owner/Property Mgr The owner and property manager will be very attentive to your needs. Prior to arriving, we received helpful information about the condo, the surrounding sites, and useful information about restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, pharmacies, and things to do. While on island, the owner and property manager were extremely helpful in ensuring our comfort and assisting with any of our needs. The next time we travel to St. Croix, Cruzan Coast will be our first choice for a place to stay! Thanks for your hospitality and allowing us to stay in your condo. We loved this holiday location! Everything was perfect from the minute we were greeted at the airport to the moment we said goodbye. We had great communication throughout the booking process, and were given lots of great ideas to help plan our week on St. Croix. The property is spacious and bright, immaculately clean and beautifully furnished. We travelled with our two children and my parents and there was ample room for everyone. The layout was perfect with everyone enjoying the living room/dining room/breakfast bar area together. But it was also nice for everyone to have their own "suite" (bedroom and washroom) where they could retreat for some downtime. The beach and pool are very well maintained, as well as the Great Room and tennis courts. We didn't make use of the golf or basketball amenities, so we can't comment on those. We did snorkel at the beach and saw Blue Tangs as well as little Sergeant Majors swimming along the reef! Gentle Winds is so lovely you don't really have to look elsewhere! But if you do, we highly recommend visiting Cane Bay Beach as well as taking an evening kayak tour of Bio Bay- both of these locations are just right around the corner from Gentle Winds. We also enjoyed dinners out at Flyers and Angry Nate's. The kitchen is large and very well equipped with new pots/pans and loads of plates, bowls etc. You can even request provisioning of the property so that you arrive to a stocked fridge and cupboard! We found grocery shopping easy to do with our rental car, so we didn't provision first, but for people arriving late in the day it would allow you to walk right into the condo and relax. We visited in early June and often had the whole pool, and occasionally, the whole beach to ourselves! If you are looking for a peaceful retreat this is the place!!

We loved our stay in J2; the interior design was fresh, the kitchen was well-equipped with new pots and pans, and extra touches like yoga mats and tons of beach towels added to our enjoyment of the condo. The pool and beach were beautiful and just a short walk from our door. Next time I want to bring my husband and kids back because the unit is perfect for a family with privacy upstairs and plenty of bathrooms for everyone.

We were very happy that Gentle Winds J2 was our home base for our week in St. Croix. It's central location to both Christiansted and Frederiksted was very convenient. We were pleasantly surprised that each bedroom had a private bath. Our party of two families included 4 adults and 4 children. There were plenty of towels, both for indoor use and for the pool/beach. The wifi worked great, and the kitchen had all the appliances and utensils you might ever need. The view of the pool and beach were great and we enjoyed them both from the screened in porch and the upper level balcony as well. Speaking of, the pool was well kept, and had a nice outdoor shower for cleaning up. The beach had plenty of lounge chairs and palapas for shade. Sheila's beach shack was open limited hours, but was an added bonus when it was open. We also took advantage of the games at the community center and the basketball court. Sharon was great to work with and even offered to meet us at the airport when we arrived. This was exactly the type of experience you hope all VRBO's would give. Can't wait to stay there again on a future visit!

From the moment of arrival, I knew I was going to have a great time. Beautiful island. The entrance to the community is awesome. The accommodations provided by the property owners were excellent. We went to the market got our groceries and made most of our meals. We explored the island, got some Caribbean food from the food truck, went downtown and explored with foods there. Had a few meals on a restaurant on the beach. Had a wonderful time. Highly recommend this condo. The grounds were well maintained and comfortable. Returning soon.

We rented a condominium at Gentle Winds based on Trip Adviser reviews and booked through VRBO. Very easy to work with Sharon Early who manages Unit J2. Grounds are impeccable. Condo was very well appointed and comfortable. We rented a car and purchased a used Garmin GPS with Caribbean maps off of eBay prior to the trip for 50.00. (Don't leave in your car...always take it with you. Never lock your rental.) We explored St. Croix with ease from Gentle Winds location which is minutes from Cane Bay and Christiansted. We bought a weeks worth of groceries at Plaza Grocery store for 240.00 (including alcohol and mixers). Two meals out for two people cost us 175.00 so you can see how eating out in the tourists areas can add up. We love St. Croix and met many friendly locals. We had heard rumors on Trip Adviser about the bad crime but we felt extremely safe. We did not venture out much at night and did most our in-town excursions in the mornings. Our view of the beach and ocean on the screened in porch at J2 unit gave us no reason to do anything but relax and enjoy the view. Best activities that we enjoyed: Point Udall Hike Issacs and Jack Bay Cruzan Cowgirls Horseback riding Hike Sugarloaf Hill to the Radio Telescope Cramers Park East End Turners Hole Drive through the rainforest on Mahogany Rd (Do not stop at Mt. Pellier Domino Club) Morning in Fredricksted (town, shopping, fort, beautiful beach, pier) Morning in Christiansted (town, shopping, fort, boardwalk, view of Hotel on the Cay)

Our family is spread across the eastern seaboard, including New York, Suffolk, Virginia, and Charlotte, NC. This was the first time we had all been together in a couple of years. Great amenities, beautiful landscaping, wonderful beach, and quite close to Christensted activities. We had a great time.

Our time in St Croix was made so much more memorable by staying at Gentle Winds. With the pristine beach, all hours pool, and wonderfully stocked house you really never have to leave, but you can as you're always close to other incredible sights in St Croix. We will be going back to Gentle Winds as soon as possible!

Went for a long weekend, had an amazing time. This is the perfect spot to go and relax that has everything you could possibly want. You can see the beach right from the room, there is an awesome pool open all night with a view of the beach, plenty of activities for kids and people of all ages. The condo was extremely clean, great AC and Wifi/cable. Kitchen was perfect, we bought groceries and cooked most of our meals. There is a grill by the pool that would be excellent to have a family barbecue at. All in all great place to stay.
