We really enjoyed our week at the house, and took full advantage of the beautiful natural surroundings. It was well equipped with supplies for exploring and my family managed to snag a couple of crabs. Beach access was convenient and check in and out went smoothly.

Love this house at Broadkill Beach!
We stayed as a family of 4 (2 teens) and had plenty of room to give everyone the space they wanted. The house is in great condition, the view is so relaxing, the kitchen was very well stocked, and the location is great! We enjoyed the kayaks, the private boardwalk and the outdoor seating/hammock. There were even a couple of osprey that hung out with their fish breakfast on a nearby dock daily!
It is an easy walk to the beach, with just a bit of maneuvering over the dune (lots of soft sand and some narrow paths through brush/grass). The Broadkill store and the Beach Plum Island Nature preserve are an easy bike ride away in opposite directions, and the single street isn't too busy most of the time so I'd feel comfortable riding with younger kids. The Broadkill Store is a great destination with some basic groceries (even fresh corn on the cob), as well as souvenirs, beach items, ice cream, and a snack bar. They rent bikes as well. The closest town is Milton, which is a quaint hidden gem, and where you can find a supermarket as well as a few good restaurants, a canal that cuts through the town, bike shop etc.
Candy was wonderful to work with and we would return in a heartbeat!

Great communications from property management and the location of the property was amazing. Best time teaching my son about fishing because there was so much action during high-tide (use blood warms). We are planning to come back again in the near future.

Beautiful Beach House
We had a wonderful time at Broadkill Beach. The views were amazing! The house had plenty of room for a family of 5. The kitchen was fully stocked, and the beach supplies were plentiful. We had a tiny issue that was beyond the owners control but it was taken care of very quickly. We loved the short walk to Broadkill Beach, but also took advantage of the short drives to Lewes and Rehoboth. Our only regret is that we didn't allow ourselves enough time to use the kayaks. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

This was a fantastic place to stay for bird watching. We had hoped to see at least a few birds but delighted when we saw MANY birds!! We even saw birds we had never seen before and Candy provided us with lists of birds to look for.
The house was wonderful — very well equipped kitchen, comfortable rooms, neat, and clean.
Visited Lewes for some shopping, Prime Hook for hiking and more birds, and Cape Henlopen State Park and enjoyed all within short drives.
Definitely recommend and look forward to another trip back at some point!

The house is well appointed and unlike a lot of rentals feels like someone has actually lived here before and it is functional. The access to the wetlands and kayaking was great, and the beach is just across the road. Highly recommend.

Relaxing beach getaway
Great location for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of other Delaware beaches. Awesome place for birdwatching and enjoying nature as this property backs onto the wetlands. We had a great time kayaking on the creek and seeing all of the wildlife. Also had some amazing sunsets.

Chilly weather but everything you need for a cozy stay.
The property is just beautiful and well appointed with everything you need with the exception of sheets and towels. We appreciated being able to do our laundry during the week, just like hone. The host was excellent with communications. Although this week was very chilly and stormy, we found the home to be very cozy and comfortable. Also the cleanliness was exceptional.

A great weekend away
This was a great weekend away for me and my spouse. The location of the house was awesome, on the marsh and steps to the beach. We enjoyed kayaking on the marsh and the bay views from the bedroom. Host went above and beyond to resolve a minor but important issue. A great experience!

About 25 minutes to Lewes and good restaurants.

Peaceful Retreat Nestled Against Wildlife Refuge
This was our second stay at Om Away, after 3 years, and we had a wonderful time again. The views of the Bird Sanctuary are one of our favorites, pure peacefulness.
The house is attractive and comfortable with most of what we needed. Just a step to the deck overlooking the spectacular view of the wetlands with an array of shore birds, a short walk to a meandering creek/channel for kayaking, and a short walk to the bay beach make this a wonderful spot for a summer vacation.

The home was beautiful & exactly as listed. It is the perfect location, the bay for beach days & creek for fishing & crabbing. The house was very clean when we checked in, not a speck of sand or dirt on the floors. Very well stocked kitchen & little amenities like dish soap & hand soap in the bathrooms. It was nice that linens were included as well, one less thing to pack. I don’t think i’ll ever go back to Rehoboth. No traffic & we went to Lewes a couple times. Perfect location for family bike rides too, the road is not busy. We’ll definitely be back!

We absolutely enjoyed staying here. The house and area were as advertised. The beach was virtually private, and the few people we ran into were all very friendly. Apparently, this area is kinda known for having some biting flies, but that’s not a knock on this listing. Nature can’t be controlled, nothing some bug spray can’t fix. We also found that a thermacell worked wonders with the flies on the beach. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Lovely beach getaway
The house was perfect for our family of 6. Our 4 boys loved the dock out back where they could catch all sorts of creatures. The beach access was convenient and very few people were on the beach. This house had everything we needed.

The short walk down the road to the beach was very convenient. It was like having the beach to ourselves as no one was around!

From beginning to end, the weekend was charmed. Broadkill Beach is a very quaint community. It is very quiet and surrounded by nature. We had our morning coffee while bird-watching the beautiful varieties with the binoculars and the guide provided by the owner. The guys kayaked the canal, again with owner provided kayaks , they golfed at a golf country club three miles away and busier beaches like Dewey and Lewes were just a few driving miles beyond that.
Candy, the owner was amazingly vigilant to our questions and she created a cozy home that had all the necessary amenities. We will return!

The Perfect Family Getaway
Overall we had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. We booked this as a last minute getaway and Candy was more than accommodating. She went above and beyond answering my questions before booking which was much appreciated. When looking for a place to stay our priorities were a short walk to an uncrowded beach (because I was almost 9 months pregnant!), a view from the house we could enjoy while our toddler was napping, and enough space for our toddler to play. The walk was short, there was no one on the beach besides ghost and horseshoe crabs, the view from the house is not only stunning but very relaxing, and our toddler had a blast. The Bay was perfect for a toddler as there were still waves to make it fun for him but nothing you had to worry about like the ocean. There were also all different kinds of creatures along the tideline to teach him about which we loved as we are nature lovers. We will definitely return after baby #2 is born when we can be more adventurous, utilize the kayaks, go fishing, and explore the local area. Thanks for a great stay!

This location worked out perfectly for our family of four. We wanted a peaceful getaway on the beach somewhere but close enough to towns that we could get to quickly for food and entertainment. We were able to end the days with an awesome sunset overlooking beautiful wildlife from their back deck. The place is really spacious yet feels cozy, super clean and well appointed with all the amenities.Thank you Candy for sharing your lovely property, we hope to visit again!
