Upon entering, your first view is looking out over the deck at the impossibly blue waters of the Caribbean. The deck faces west, so every evening you have a private, front seat view of the sunset. One word of caution, once the sun goes down the sand flies do make an appearance. If you tend to attract mosquitos or the like, I recommend bug spray (which is provided in the cabin – along with anything else you might require). The highlight is when you descend the steps adjacent to the property down to the water’s edge. There you have your own private infinity style jump pool meters from the ocean. Pictures do not do it justice. A few more stone steps provide access to the ocean, for swimming/snorkeling or the like, all in your little private bay. Also, along the way to the pool is an outdoor shower, which let’s face it, is pretty awesome. The bed was firm, which I personally loved, but it sounds as though you can request extra foam if that is a concern. The living area is small but comfortable. It is a studio style space, with a kitchenette and single bathroom. Books and games are provided to enjoy during your stay. There was a local cat and several iguanas that come by from time to time which we loved. Don was having some work performed on the property while we were there, which is obviously necessary for maintaining a property such as this. That being said, Don obviously cares deeply about his properties. He made a point to stop by the first day to say hello and was immediately responsive to any questions or concerns that we had, while also respecting your privacy. Even after we left his property, Don continued to give us great tips about things to check out on the island and was accommodating and helpful when we inadvertently left a few things and had to return to pick them up. Overall, can’t recommend enough. Beautiful place, beautiful people. Take some time to say hello. You won’t be disappointed.

What can I say...what a great play to stay! Don was a great host and very helpful but the highlight is the location and the house. It is in a beautiful location with AMAZING views, it has a private plunge pool, it has a private deck, and private Palapa! What is not to love! The house is within a easy drive to a lot of great beaches but it was nice to just come back at the end of the day and sit on the deck and watch the waves. ***On what could be purely preference, I do wish the bed was a bit softer but otherwise we loved our stay and defiantly would stay there again or at one of Don's other locations!***

This was one of the best vacations we have ever had. The cottage was perfect -- clean, comfortable, and quiet. The sheets on the bed were especially soft and falling asleep to the sound of the waves was amazing. We spent lots of our time hanging out on the incredible deck: reading, napping, watching the sun set, playing cards, eating our meals. We snorkeled right from the cottage, soaked in the salt water pool, and watched the lizards, birds, and iguanas. The cottage itself is simply beautiful. Don is an artist and his work is everywhere throughout the property. His mosaics and stained glass pieces are amazing and add so much to the ambience of the space. Don and Angie were lovely and incredibly helpful. They had great restaurant, beach, and sight-seeing suggestions. Amazing, amazing, amazing. We cannot wait to return! THANK YOU!!!

My husband and I stayed at Cas Abou at the end of our honeymoon and it was perfect for us! We loved waking up to a view of the ocean and having coffee/breakfast on the beautiful, private deck. It is so easy and fun to just walk down the stairs to the ocean and snorkel with literally no one around! The private infinity pool was also AMAZING! Don and Angie were so welcoming and helpful with any recommendations and are very knowledgeable about the island. They make sure you have everything you need to just relax and enjoy, including towels, chairs, snorkeling gear, and even a cooler to take to the beach. Angie gave us great advise about visiting the blue room and it turned out to be our favorite island adventure! They also connected us with Anouk and Aldrick who came to Cas Abou for a couples massage right on the deck under the stars! The location of Cas Abou was also amazing. It is so relaxing and beautiful but you can easily get to restaurants, grocery store, etc.

This place was nothing short of AMAZING. Don and Angie are wonderful people who will take the best care of you. You truly have to come to this place to get the most surreal experience. Shower with hermit crabs, enjoy coffee with the birds and iguanas, house cats may join you for dinner. And crabs lurking in the Garden may scare the crap out of you when you return at nite, like they did me at least twice. But I loved it. Lol If you’re a wildlife fanatic who loves a nice easy vacation to the tropics, this is the place for you. Glowing with gratitude as we return from this one of a kind stay at Seaside Curacao. Thank you Angie and Don for all of the thoughtful and very helpful guidance, Amenities, and overall amazing accommodations. This one will Surely be hard to top.

We were so pleased with our entire Stay. Don was super communicative before and during our stay. He provided an entire list of things to see and do which cut out hours of research as this was our first time here. We visited so many beautiful beaches, but both agree that the snorkeling and view from the property were the best of anywhere on the island. We rented a car and did so much exploring. One of our favorite vacations of all time. I can not say enough about this property and our experience.

This trip & and the accommodations will be very difficult to top! The amenities, views and snorkeling exceeded our expectations. Don was so acclimating & flexible. He even delivered a yoga mat for a session on the deck. His recommendation for a private chef also made for a very memorable night.

Charming and whimsical house full of character and beautiful artwork. It had everything we needed for a relaxing day at “home” or a day trip to a nearby beach. The views are stunning! We really enjoyed our mornings on the deck drinking coffee and watching the beautiful array of birds fly by or soaking in the plunge pool overlooking the water. Don and Angie are amazing hosts! They provided so many details ahead of time to help plan our trip and were available to answer any questions that we had during our stay. They put so much thought and care into their properties to make your vacation a truly remarkable experience. If we return to Curacao, which we plan on doing, we will definitely stay at Casa Ba-ooo again!

Not much to add that hasn’t already been said! The place is paradise and considerably more spectacular in person than photos can capture. Don and Angie are friendly, worldly, highly-available hosts. If you’re wondering, as I was, what the immediate surroundings are like: yes the house has properties on either side, but one side contains an unfinished villa and the other side is a tucked-away property managed by the same owner as this one. The place is totally private; any would-be sight lines to the neighbors are obscured by fences, geography, or foliage. It feels like your own slice of the island once you’re on the property; doesn’t even feel like it’s in a neighborhood at all. Totally unforgettable stay. The picturesque Carribbean experience we all daydream about.

We were able to enjoy all this property had to offer and Don decorated his property so well you get the feeling you’re the only ones on an island.

We can not say enough good things about the magical people, cottage and and island of Curaçao. Everything you need and with a view that will warm my heart though the rest of winter in upstate NY. Food was great a couple favorites were E Lanternu and Cactus Cafe, any smoothie bar. The snorkeling was amazing, best right in the bay at the cottage. Don and Angie are kind and knowledgeable, please ask and they will help you solve and make your stay enjoyable. Get some buzz aloe at the local pharmacy....helps with bugs. This was an all time favorite stay and that was even after returning home to find out I likely had pneumonia for most of the stay. We can not wait to return! Dushi Curaçao, Don and Angie! My wife & I are just leaving after 10 days, We have been to similarly priced Properties in Mexico, Roatan, St. Lucia and enjoyed Casa Ba ooo the best for its views, privacy and ability to relax Loved it !

My husband and I had an amazing time staying here and would return for another vacation. The location is wonderful being pretty center to the island so nothing is too far away. We were able to drive to the north and south ends within a reasonable amount of time even during heavy traffic times. We snorkeled pretty much the entire East side of the island and the Cas Abou area was in our top two. Lots of coral and different species of fish. Pay attention to when the tides are rougher to plan your swim. The birds put us in routine by the second day. Make sure you put sugar out on the rocks on the porch rail. You will get to see some very beautiful and not shy tropical birds. Some get close enough to eat from your breakfast plate. Every evening we watched the sun go down while having a cocktail and waited for the “green flash.” We never got to see it but that just gives us more reason to go back. We made several meals and everything we needed in the kitchen was handy. I only wish there was a larger coffee maker. Bed was comfortable and good size. Bathroom was adequate, I just wish it has a thick rubber mat since the bathroom floor and shower floor are the same. All and all I think we found “our place” to stay every time we visit the island and we are actually planning to bring a group of friends with us to rent some of the other houses Don & Angie have. A BIG thank you to Don and Angie for being so hospitable! You made our time there more enjoyable and less stressful!

Anytime we needed the owner or our concierge they were only an email away. Always able to help. We enjoyed this property immensely! The property was clean, we ate in almost every meal, and all the utensils we needed were in the cottage. The snorkeling right in front of the cottage was probably some of the best we saw anywhere on the island. I would definitely return to this property over and over again. Perfect 25 anniversary.

Casa Ba-ooo is an awesome little cottage in a breathtaking location! The pictures and description of the property are all accurate, but you need to experience this place for yourself to let your senses feel all the things that a photo can't convey: the constant, soothing sound of ocean waves, the warm, salty breeze, the inviting crystal blue water, and the magnificent, unobstructed panoramic view of the ocean. This was the perfect combination for melting away stress and really hit the "reset" button for us! Don and Angie are friendly, knowledgeable, conscientious, and communicative hosts who made sure we were well cared-for during our stay. This was especially important to us since this was our first visit to the island. If natural beauty, relaxation, and rejuvenation are your top priorities for your next vacation, then look no further!!

Don and the property was amazing! Great snorkeling right out the door of the cottage.

Wow! This was my reaction when we first got to the deck on the cottage. The view is amazing. The water is beautiful blue. This cute cottage was perfect for our romantic diving get-away. One of my favorite dives was right off the cottage! We woke up, sipped our coffee admiring the view, walked down the steps, geared up in the water and dove right off the cottage for a great morning dive! You can also snorkel to the right, left or in front of the cottage. We snorkeled to Cas Abou Beach one afternoon, stopped for a cocktail, laid on the beach and snorkeled back. The water is so refreshing and warm (82 F)! Another day we snorkeled to the right and saw a turtle! The location was perfect for us. It was halfway up the island, so perfect distance between north and town. Took only 20 minutes driving to the northern dive sites and restaurants/bars. Took only 20-25 to Willemstad and the bars/restaurants down there. Only 15 min to Porto Marie Beach. We were able to explore the island, enjoy the dive sites, restaurants and bars without feeling we were in the car too long. We grilled on the deck one night and enjoyed many beautiful sunsets. And the stars!! We were lucky to be there during a meteor shower and one night I saw over 11 shooting stars! Was amazing. The welcome package Don and Angie provide has LOADS of great information and recommendations throughout the island. We were able to visit some, but not all. Gives us all the reason to come back! Don and Angie were fantastic. Don is a great host with a lot of knowledge of the island. Both super nice, accommodating and friendly. We are so happy to have booked this perfect place and meet these people. This was truly a first class, 5 star location, property and people.

We enjoyed every moment of this place, walk down the stairs to swim in the ocean, sit back and relax watching the sunset or grill meat on the BBQ for a dinner on the nice huge deck. The outside shower is great! Thank you Don & Angie for your impeccable care of the place and the guess. We felt welcomed!

We could not have chosen a better location to celebrate our 25th anniversary than Casa Ba-ooo! Don, Angie and their Seaside Curacao staff were consummate hosts. They took care of all our needs, from a quick pickup at the airport, to easy car rental, to sharing the best places to go and see. The information packet Don provided was incredibly helpful and contained everything we needed to know. Without a doubt the best part of our stay was our villa! It was the perfect size with everything we needed. We were greeted with a drink and food in the refrigerator to ease us into our stay. The many kitchen amenities made it easy to cook when we chose not to go out for a meal. Waking up to the ocean waves at day break, morning coffee overlooking the sea, drinks on the deck, and stargazing at night made each day perfect! Cas Abou Beach is a short drive or walk and absolutely stunning! We enjoyed snorkeling home from there to our villa one day. Some other highlights: Our couples massage with Anouk overlooking the ocean was the best! No need for relaxing music, as we were able to listen to the waves. We snorkeled at our villa and every beach we visited - the sea turtles at Playa Piskado were incredible to see and so much fun to snorkel with. Our hike with Angie was breathtakingly beautiful. Angie was very knowledgeable about the local vegetation and history, which made the hike even more interesting. A day in Willemstad, the big city, was tremendous. It has a festive atmosphere, great shops, and delicious food. We did not have time for the private chef at home, but will definitely take advantage next time. Make sure you complete your e-immigration card online before arrival - this will allow you to go through a shorter line at customs and you will quickly be on your way to an amazing vacation! Curacao is a small island with so much to offer. Don has everything and everyone you need to know in the Seaside Curacao information packet...all the best places to go and people to meet. We were not able to do it all, but everything we did was fantastic...we were never led astray! This was our best and easiest vacation ever. Can't wait until next time!

We had the most beautiful and restful stay at Casa Ba-ooo! Don and Angie could not have been better hosts with great suggestions, easy conversation and Don even took us and the kayaks to a great spot to explore. They really are genuine that you enjoy your time on the island and we did! We explored and enjoyed great food in the local restaurants, and area beaches including Casa Abou Beach. But you really don't need to leave the cottage! Everything is right there! Gorgeous sunsets, beautiful reefs for snorkeling, great place to watch the ships go by, wave at the boats of fisherman or scuba divers that go by and take a night swim! We also loved the birds and iguana that visited regularly. Very friendly and fun to watch and feed. Glad we stocked up on fruit! One suggestion... take Angie up on her offer to stock the fridge for you. It is well worth it! Also their car rental and airport service is so accommodating and convenient! Angie picked us up from the airport and we stopped at a small market on the way to the cottage. A great stop because they make the most amazing home baked bread! We went back a couple times for more! Thank you Don and Angie! We are already planning our return trip!

My husband and I recently spent our honeymoon at Cas Ba-ooo. We were blown away by the beauty of the cottage, the relaxed atmosphere and the amazing hosts. The sunsets were astonishing, and we had a perfect view of them every day off of the spacious deck. The cottage itself was like a little slice of heaven; the intricate designs, natural decor and island art were absolutely gorgeous! The snorkelling right in front of the cottage was by far the best on the island for coral and fish! Our favourite day was snorkelling with the sea turtles at Playa Piscado, recommended by Don! Don and Angie were great hosts, we were always able to contact them and they thought and prepared for absolutely everything we would need. I would 100% recommend staying at one of Don's cottages if you want a picturesque, relaxing trip surrounded by nature.

The white cottage exceeded our expectations! The view at any time day or night was without compare, from Trupials, Dolphins, Pelicans and Iquanas in the morning to a sky full of stars at night, the location was simply spectacular. Very private but open to all nature in Curacao had to offer. The cottage had air conditioning which we used to sleep, but during the day enjoyed the breezes from the ocean. The space had everything we needed for our breakfasts and dinners in. We used the grill and as mentioned before had an unparalleled sunset view in the evening. Don and Angie were quick with suggestions and answered any question we had with a timely response. We also employed Anouk ( a suggestion from Don) for a couple's massage on the deck after sunset! My husband had a deep tissue and I had a swedish, the breeze, ocean sounds and music made for a very relaxing evening! The next morning we woke to rain and were rewarded with the most beautiful rainbow one hour later! This was the perfect location, mid way on the island for trips into Willemstad or to the beaches on the West End. We rented the cottage car which took us from Watamula to Willemstad with ease. However, I must admit that it is true that the best snorkeling in Curacao was to the right of our beautiful cottage. The walkway down to the water gave us a quick path to the snorkeling we love! Beautiful fish and corals. I highly recommend this cottage for those who love seclusion, all that nature has to offer and want to explore all that Curacao has to offer! We stayed four days in this cottage and four days in Cas Cielo- so check out my review for that one as well - only steps away but a completely different experience!

We recently returned from nine days at Casa Ba-ooo and wish we never left! The property was just perfect for two and the setting provided endless hours of pure relaxation; sunrise, sunset, star gazing, it is amazing at all times. We started the day with coffee on the deck to take in the incredible view and listed to the waves wash up just underneath us. We spent our days at many of the amazing beaches that were all just a short drive away, and then would make our way back to the cottage in the mid-late afternoons to enjoy the sun setting right in front of us. We just could not get enough of that view! Don and Angie were tremendous! From the time Angie met us at the airport to the time she brought us back, they were both so very helpful and accommodating. The information packet they provided was amazing; we used so many of their suggestions and found hidden gems we would otherwise never have found. Wish we could have stayed longer and cannot wait to go back!

The first thing you see is a mural of an orange and black oriole, a troupial. The next is the Caribbean, below you and spread out before you. Don't overlook the gecko mosaic made of shells on the wall by the door, though. We were so focused on the view of the sea that we almost missed the gecko. Hard to believe that, but the view absorbs you. All day the view absorbs you, and into the night. We had drop dead sunsets with green flashes, Venus and Mercury soon thereafter, and moonlight from a full moon reflecting as a beam on the ocean. The cottage is well equipped such that you can cook just about anything. it's quiet, comfortable, and designed cleverly. The bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom are inside a retractable glass wall. (You can close the wall and windows for air conditioning. In a week, we did that only once.) The living room is outside the glass wall under a roof, with a wide arch that opens the Caribbean to you. Outboard of that is a deck. To the side is a set of stairs to the water--and magical snorkeling. Under the deck is another sitting area, hammock, and outdoor shower. Don and Angie were gracious, thoughtful hosts. Don clued us in about a monthly local festival, one of the highlights of our visit. They were both hospitable, well-informed, and open about what to do, where to go, and their reflections on Curacao's culture and history. If we had needed anything, we would not have hesitated to ask either Don or Angie. A few tips: take a lightweight long-sleeved shirt and pants to cover up. The sun can burn, even in the shade of the living area, when it reflects off the water. Also, take bug spray. We were happy to have it when the breeze died. Mosquito netting around the bed worked fine for sleeping with the cottage wide open. Finally, snorkeling: rash guards keep you from burning your back. Better yet, if you wear glasses, google on "prescription dive masks." You can get them inexpensively, and they make snorkeling unbelievably cool for people who have only before seen vague colored blobs. Ba-ooo is charmingly trippy, quirky, creative. For a couple, it's perfect.

We stayed at Casa Ba-ooo for a week after staying elsewhere on the island. It was paradise! So comfortable with all of the self-catering amenities we were looking for in a safe, pristine, natural environment. Don & Angie are so friendly and accommodating they made us feel right at home like old friends. Their Seaside Curacao team delivered everything as advertised and more! Highly recommend Lisa, private chef, so talented and friendly and Anouk and her colleague for a wonderfully relaxing couples massage right on your deck. Captain Manchi is an island historian with so much information to share! He will teach you the “traditional” hand-line fishing technique and you’ll enjoy his friendly company so much you won’t even mind if the fish aren’t biting, Thanks to all of you for making our third visit to Curacao the best yet! We spent 2 weeks at Casa-BA-OOO over the Christmas holiday and had an awesome vacation. The location of the cottage can't be beat as it overlooks the beautiful blue-turquoise waters of the Carribean ocean. Sunrise coffee on the deck, short drive to beaches for diving or exploring the island, breathtaking sunsets, and star studded night skies makes this the BEST location on the island. The pictures are accurate, but you have to experience a stay to appreciate the level of detail Don has put into the décor and furnishings. You will have everything you need for a relaxing, comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully stocked for preparing meals, which we did a few days, but mostly we enjoyed the restaurant suggestions Don provided. All were spot on! We enjoyed dinner at Kome, el Lanternu, Trio Penotti,, Daniels, and De Buurouw. Daily stops to Ricky's roadside stand for delicious, fresh fruit smoothies after a diving was a great way to refresh! Which brings us to diving in Curacao. There are so many beaches that you can shore dive from, BUT one of the BEST reefs is right in front of the cottage! The steps down to the sea make (rent tanks from B-Diving at Casa-Abou) easy access to one of the nicest reefs on the island! Also check out, Playa Marie (at Coral Estates), Playa Kalki (Go West Diving), Kokomo Beach and Porto Mari. The outdoor shower under the deck was perfect for rinsing off dive equipment and refreshing after a dip in the ocean. The service that Don and Angie provided was five star! From the time we made our reservation to the time we had to leave this magical location, they were there to answer any questions we had and provided all the information we needed during our stay. We have visited other islands and always stay in cottages or villas and Casa-Ba-OOO is our favorite so far! We were having such a good time, we extended our stay and plan to return! This is a special place. The view from the deck is amazing; it feels as if you are floating above the water. Don and Angie are terrific hosts who were available for anything we needed. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. Don provided a great information packet that was an invaluable guide to hiking, eating, and beaches. And the beaches — fabulous! We went to a different beach everyday and they were all so wonderful. If you are looking for crystal clear blue water, great and easy snorkeling, peace and quiet away from crowds and resorts, this is your place!

We stayed at Cas Ba-ooo for the last 4 nights of a 12 day stay on Curaçao. The Cottage was everything we hoped it would be, its artistic decor was very pleasing. The view from the kitchen window is amazing, like you're looking at a painting but its real! With pelicans flying by the deck, orioles singing to us, iguanas coming for a visit and being able to snorkel right off the steps to the ocean we felt close to nature. The highlight of this cottage began every night just before sunset. The sunsets and stargazing were spectacular! Don and Angie were very down to earth and very informative for things to do in this area of the island. We really enjoyed this area and the beach next door Cas Aboa. Don suggested on our last day to go for lunch at Landhuis Daniel and we enjoyed it very much. Thankyou for a wonderful vacation and hope to see you again soon.
