My husband & I had the most relaxing time at this beautiful home. The view will take your breath away! We hiked to Rendezvous Beach one day for a swim at this beautiful secluded beach. We laid in the hammocks and slept to the sound of tree frogs. T’amara met us at our hotel and guided us to the house, and was great throughout our stay . I loved sharing our stay with Jasper the cat! What a diamond in the rough!

We stayed for two weeks at Cliffhanger Cottage, in late June and early July 2023. We were there for a youth regatta that was held out of Nelson’s Dockyard.
Staying here was an amazing experience, and we enjoyed it so much. The views are absolutely exquisite, and the sea breeze key us cool all day.
We liked having the downstairs bedroom with the air conditioning, because it was a little warm for us at night, considering we were there in summer. I can see how you wouldn’t need that though at other times of the year.
Definitely get a 4 x 4 if you are renting here. I could not get a 4 x 4 at the airport. However, there is a car rental place in downtown English Harbor, that we rented from, and they were very reasonably priced.
Jasper the cat is super friendly, and we enjoyed having him around, and fell in love with him. 💙
Everyone that works on this property is so nice, and I enjoyed meeting everyone very much.
In fact, I enjoyed meeting everyone on the island. Our car broke down one day, and everyone stopped to help. Antigua is a friendly island, and I hope that we have the opportunity to return some day. If so, we will definitely stay at Cliffhanger Cottage!

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at Cliffhanger cottage. As every other review makes mention of....the views really are spectacular - we loved simply sitting and reading on the deck and enjoying the scenery!
There was a constant cooling breeze for the 8 days that we stayed, which helped to make the temperature really comfortable (no problem sleeping in the bedroom which isn't airconditioned).
We loved the walks to local beaches, including Rendezvous, which is about 40 mins walk from the cottage.
T'mara was super helpful - always very responsive when we had questions ahead of our trip and both she and Noel were really friendly when showing us around.
Thanks for a brilliant holiday!!

270 degree view so you can watch the sun rise over Falmouth Harbour and the sun set over Rendevous Bay! Very impressive!

Everything about the time we spent in this perfect house was magic! We saw double rainbows daily. The 180 degree view from the porch is amazing- no other houses in sight. The views from inside the house are gorgeous too. The cottage is open air so there is always a breeze flowing thru (and sometimes birds!). The shower on the upper floor is open to the surrounding forest- sublime. And such a treat to have Jasper the cat in residence! As soon as we left we wanted to come back!! And we will…..be back (depending on T’amra’s review😜)!

Simply couldn't rate my stay higher. Absolutely loved the Caribbean vibe within the décor & surrounding areas + the view couldn't be more stunning. I even got to see whales jumping in the sea while I sipped on my coffee. I didn't leave during my stay & would have stayed much longer if I could have. Sure hope I have the blessing to stay at Cliffhanger Cottage again sometime soon.

Heaven on the cliff!
Our first visit was in April….and we had to come back just weeks later! Our communication with the wonderful T’Mara is incredible and the breeze is constant!
The perfect place for the two of us!

You’ll never tire of the view
Staying at Cliffhanger Cottage was so much better than staying in a hotel. First of all the views are unparalleled and you will never tire of them. To have the space and the big deck and a huge showers is better than any hotel suite. T’Mara the manager was so kind & responsive. She not only met us at the airport and directed us all the way to the house, she responded immediately to any small issues we had. The location is perfect, only 10 mins to English Harbor but still out of the busyness of it. You’ll need a small SUV as the road to get to the house is pretty bad but you’ll soon navigate it like a pro. Part of the fun. I would definitely stay here again.
Oh and you should really like cats if you’re going to book. This is Jasper the cat’s house and he’s just letting you stay there haha. He’s very sweet and affectionate. We love cats so this was a bonus for us.

Rainbow sunrises and orange sunsets
Beautiful open window/door home. Perfect for us to cook breakfasts and sometimes dinner. Restaurants close in Falmouth and English Harbours. Most mornings had a light mist (less than 5 minutes) to create beautiful rainbows. Sunsets with a beverage in hand sitting on the lounge chair concluded our days. Garden on property is nice and leads to a trail to Rendevous Beach. I'd recommend couples who like to relax, cook, enjoy the outdoors to stay here.

Most unbelievable property in Antigua
Me and my wife stayed here for our honeymoon and could not be happier with this beautiful property! The host was so unbelievably welcoming, Jasper the house cat was an absolute sweetheart and the views from the deck were unlike anything we have either seen in person in our entire lives! We will be coming back to this house, it is straight out of a dream! Everything was fantastic! Falling asleep to the sounds of waves crashing on the shore and waking up to the views of crystal clear teal waters surrounding mountains, oh and the occasional screaming mountain goats hahaa! Everything about this property was spot on and mind blowing! Thank you so much for your hospitality and the experience of a lifetime! This property is absolutely one of a kind!!

Spectacular Views
T’mara was an excellent host, very helpful and considerate. House is charming and well appointed, including kitchen. Views are spectacular. From dusk to dawn house has mosquitoes, gnats, moths, beetles. It is like camping. There are no screens except in downstairs bedroom with AC. Slept there to avoid mosquitoes. Recommend repellent with deet, mosquito coils and citronella candles in the evening.

Amazing views
We loved our stay (January 2020). Everything was as advertised and even better. You wake to views of sunrise over the harbour, lounge in the hammocks watching boats go by, and end your day with beautiful sunsets to the west where you see no other properties. You are surrounded by beautiful gardens that attract hummingbirds. We had planned to visit the island but could not leave this wonderful place! Although we did not use Our rented Jeep much and we would recommend at least an all wheel drive vehicle to get to this Cliffhanger property. Although I’m allergic to cats, I got to love seeing Jasper around and with the open air concept of the house, my allergies were fine.

Accommodations: We had a great stay at Cliffhanger. The cottage was clean and well maintained, and the grounds were beautifully designed and manicured. We loved watching the hummingbirds every morning. The views were unmatched and the breeze always blowing. We’re from New England and not acclimated to the heat so we resorted to the lower bedroom for air-conditioned sleep (we found the upstairs mattress to be more comfortable). The cottage windows do not have screens so it’s necessary to close up in the evening to prevent mosquito encounters.Island Exploration: Our explorations included hiking directly from the property to Rendezvous Beach for a private swim. We also hiked down to the water's edge, though the sea was too rough for swimming that day. I think we counted 170 steps on the way back up, which were beautifully structured! We explored about 75% of the island with our rental car (watch for the potholes!), searching out some of the beaches we had read about (our favorite was Half Moon Bay). We felt our rental car was somewhat lacking for the drive up to Cliffhanger. It was about 2 miles of dirt and gravel from the paved road and rough in spots. The biggest challenge was the tall water bar spanning the road near the last climb. Our rental car barely cleared it without scraping the undercarriage. A small SUV or Jeep is more appropriate. Property Management: T’Mara was awesome! She was always there to answer questions.Summation: We had a great time and recommend Cliffhanger for anyone seeking sun, privacy, gentle breezes, beautiful views, clean accommodations, and relaxation. We still have 25% of the island to explore and Cliffhanger is at the top of our list when we return.

A week at Cliffhanger
Our stress melted away within hours of entering Cliffhanger! The views from all parts of the deck and comfy hammocks were extraordinary. T'mara was brilliant - from her pre-trip advice, to fresh flowers in the house on our arrival, stocked pantry and checking up on us mid-week. She waited patiently to meet us at arrivals and while we got our rental car and then led us to Cliffhanger. A rental car is a must! English Harbour is 10 mins away with shops, restaurants and bars. Several beaches are close by and anywhere is drivable.
From Cliffhanger, we saw a pod of whales watched the yachts racing, and watched birds big and small soaring and flitting about the beautiful garden. We also loved Jasper the cat. We would love to return!

First visit to Antigua (but definitely not the last)!!
When we made the reservation we weren’t sure what to expect but it more than exceeded our expectations! It was exactly what we needed. T’mara was so helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was most enjoyable. The views, the food, the people were all amazing!!

This property is unique in its stye and position.
We had a wonderful experience at this property. The views are unbeatable. The area is quiet. The garden is lovely and a delight to anyone enjoying watching birds. The property is well managed. Love to Jasper.

Relaxing epic-view retreat
No amount of words or photos do justice to explain how epic the views at cliffhanger really are. And how cozy those hammocks are.
From the open-shutter shower to the epic balconies. From the path to the ocean and beach where butterflies float in waves as you walk to adventuresome road to get there. From the Crab Hole rum options to Sweet-T’s milkshakes and plaintain chips down the street. From the details and care T’mara adds as a host to Jasper the house cats hospitality during the stay. We have never been anywhere quite so inspiring, relaxing and uplifting. We had difficulty leaving the house we enjoyed the view so much.
Would highly recommend Cliffhanger for a couple (perfect romantic retreat to focus on each other and nature) or four. Would also recommend a 4x4 vehicle and buying groceries Saturday as Sunday/Monday can be harder. But if you are on the edge of considering Cliffhanger, go for it. It’s unique and amazing and an experience you will not get elsewhere.

In a beautiful position but slightly Showing it’s age now.
We really enjoyed staying at Cliffhanger, the best view in Antigua! Parts of the house are getting tired but we had a lovely stay. T’Mara looked after us very well.

Beautiful tranquility
Fourth visit for my husband and I, and we are returning next year! The stunning views from Cliffhangers decks fill us with peace and tranquility. Soaring above the ocean with the harbour, mountains, sky and gorgeous gardens below is a truly an amazing experience. We look forward to our return visit all year long. The house is perfect as well. Very comfortable, well appointed and even the shower is open to the views! Katherine , the caretaker is available and very helpful. We love Cliffhanger!

Perfect Vantage Point to Watch the Classic Yacht Regatta!
Cliffhanger has a spectacular view, even from the shower! We were here during the Classic Yacht Regatta and it was the perfect spot to relax and watch the races. Katherine was very helpful with car rental arrangements and getting us situated with provisions when we first arrived. The unit was well equipped for our stay. As we are comfortable with mountain roads and cats, Cliffhanger was a calm oasis to come back to after touring other areas of the island. Antigua is a special place and we have wonderful memories of our peaceful time enjoying the view from the Cliffhanger deck.

Spectacular house in idyllic location!
We had a wonderful stay at the cliffhanger house. Words cannot describe how beautiful the view truly is. The large expanse of ocean and mountains (free of buildings) is breathtaking. We got lost in the view every morning and afternoon. The wrap around deck is expansive and also offers views of the harbor. There are places to lounge in the sun and in the shade. The house was very comfortable. We chose to stay in the master bedroom upstairs and enjoyed the breeze each night. We did not feel like we needed AC because of the cool breeze. The house has nice security as well; an outside hate that is locked precedes the locked doors the the house. The shower was spectacular. Kitchen was equipped enough to cook any meal. We rented a car and easily explored the many beaches of the island from the house and close to delicious restaurants. We hiked twice from the house to the nearby beautiful and secluded Rendezvous Bay. Hike was fun and a great workout! Lastly, Jasper the cat was so sweet and cuddly. I am not or was not a cat person, but I fell in love with Jasper. He is an outdoor cat happy to keep to himself but also friendly and adorable.
Overall, could not recommend this house enough as a private, updated oasis of vacation splendor!

Relax and unwind
Cliffhanger is exactly that....it is perched on the mountainside with stunning views in every direction! The most beautiful views that my husband and I have ever seen. The deck is our favorite place to relax and unwind. It is so peaceful first thing in the morning with the sun rising over Falmouth Harbour, a gentle breeze and the sound of the waves below. We feel embraced by the vast ocean all around us and the mountains in the horizon. The gardens below are filled with colorful flowers and birds. The house itself is perfect. Open air, lovely decor, small but well equipped kitchen, and a lovely master with four poster bed. The bathroom is one of my husbands favorite spots. He loves to shower with the view of the ocean and mountains. We could stay there all day. But, we do venture out. We love the hikes in the area. They travel along the ocean and go through forts with gorgeous views below. We are beach lovers and this is the island for beaches. All of them gorgeous! Evenings are also amazing with the sunset, the boats lit in the harbour, the star filled sky and the chirp of the tree frogs. There are numerous restaurants in the area. We enjoyed many delicious meals. Katherine, the property manager was available, helpful, and always willing to give suggestions for activities and restaurants. This was our third visit to Cliffhanger and we are planning to return next year!

Caribbean delight
This was a return visit for us as the house has everything we wanted. The appeal being: the views, the decks, the location, the privacy, the breeze, the adventure of getting to one of the best beaches on the island and having it to ourselves, the sunsets, star gazing, the hammock, all the little extras, having Katherine close by to answer any question or give tips, watching hummingbirds while we had breakfast, a range of restaurants close by and the chance to chill and live outside all the time.
Three bits of advice if you go for a visit; you need to be okay with cats, bring trainers for the walk to the beach, but it's worth the walk and hire a 4x4 car.
It's definately a wonderful spot. Enjoy.

Paradise
We love Antigua & have been many times but this is the our first visit to Cliffhanger. It is a wonderful house with an amazing 180 degree view of the bay, including Falmouth Harbour. A perfect place to watch the yachts during Race Week. We love the cats, Tom & Jasper. Lovely boys & very soft & they enjoyed being with us & sleeping on the verandah. Katherine ensured that we had everything we needed & looked after us during our holiday. Cliffhanger is a very special place & we look forward to returning for another holiday soon.

Stunning views and so peaceful!
My husband and I feel in love with Cliffhanger Cottage, very appropriately named, from the moment we arrived. It was late and Katherine, the caretaker, was patiently awaiting our arrival. She had the cottage open and we walked out onto the deck and had the most breathtaking view of the star filled sky. It was so peaceful. The next morning was even better, with views in all directions, Falmouth Harbor, Montserrat, the gorgeous ocean and her beautifully maintained gardens. It was so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck drinking our coffee and reading. The temperatures were perfect 75-80 degrees F. with gentle breezes. It was such a gift! The cottage itself, is small but perfect and very well done. Very comfortable, clean, well maintained and equipped with everything you might need. We loved the open shower with the view of the ocean. The entire cottage was so open that we felt like we were hanging on the cliff. We enjoyed the cottage so much we were never in a hurry to leave. We did rent a car and needed it to drive to the beach every day. There are several to choose from and they are all beautiful! Our favorite is Valley Church, it is gorgeous and not crowded unless a cruise ship is in that day. We also enjoyed the hike to Rendezvous. It is a challenging 40 minute hike but worth the journey. We drove into Falmouth every night for dinner and had great meals. Our favorites were Catherines and Sunra. Katherine, the caretaker, is available, very helpful and a pleasure to know. We enjoyed our time at Cliffhanger so much we are returning next year!

fabulous views
This is a lovely property, with incredible views of both sunsets and sunrises. My husband and I love the beauty of the Caribbean, and this place really shows it off. It was great to relax and adjust to the simple pleasures. Although there's no wi-fi at the house, we enjoyed a morning coffee at the Sea Breeze Cafe, which was very pleasant. I only wish we'd been able to try their homemade gelato.
Katherine, the caretaker at Cliffhanger, was most helpful.
Our one piece of advise is to get a good map of the island, though the street signs are few and far between, if you want to venture away from this beautiful property.
On the other hand, we enjoyed cooking at Cliffhanger, and having dinner on the deck. And waking up to a beautiful orange sunrise was amazing!!

Restful and Romantic
What a beautiful place this is. We could not believe it. We arrived in the middle of a hard New England winter and ready for a deep rest. We rested and relaxed and watched the boats and the water for hours from all the various decks. The sunsets were spectacular. Mosquito netting so romantic. We loved the shower room overlooking the ocean. Everything was just as it is pictured, and Katherine is such a wonderful host. She knows everything and pointed us to just the right places to explore. Highly recommended.

Absolutely the vest views!
We were fortunate enough to holiday here earlier this month and had the MOST relaxing island vacation. Katherine was so very helpful and pleasant in every question we had regarding our time there. The home was perfect, complete with the two cats. There were wonderful deck areas for every time of the day, whether you wanted sun or not. The home is well equipped with everything needed, and the kitchen even has many staples and spices. Watching the sailboats and yachts comes into the harbor was fun. There is a wonderful 45 minute hiking path right from the back yard to a deserted beach that you must not miss. Truly, the home and Katherine are a treasure!

So relaxing you won't want to leave
My husband and I stayed at this wonderful place this past December. The house brought on such a state of total relaxation that we had to get motivated to leave. The house is charming, sparsely and elegantly decorated, a comfortable blend of luxury and simplicity. We really like the flow of the house; it is small-ish but feels spacious and the energy flows nicely. We basically lived outdoors on the decks, moving from hammock to yoga deck to sun chairs to outdoor dining table. The place is high enough on the mountain that the views are amazing—you can see the plumes of smoke from the Montserrat volcano and once we saw the lights of Guadeloupe. The house is close enough to the sea that you hear the waves breaking, as well as lots of birds, and tree frogs at night. Bring your binoculars (or use the owners’) because there are always boats or birds to watch from the deck. The night sky was spectacular—we saw shooting stars several times. We ended up lying on the sun chairs late into the evening just watching the sky.
We arrived to find some basic cooking supplies, and we recommend making a big grocery run on the way from the airport. We were happy cooking most of our meals and tried some of the local vegetables at nearby Bailey's Market—the local avocado, spinach and arugula were delicious. We explored Nelson's Dockyard, the Slipway with internet cafe and the Yacht Club restaurant. We almost signed up for sailing lessons there but were too lazy. Our favorite memory is hiking from the house to Rendez-Vous Beach first thing in the morning and being the only ones on the whole beach. It is a picture-perfect beach. The sand is classic soft and the surf is perfect for having fun but not working too hard against the waves.
In the interests of full disclosure, we know the owner, who invited us to stay as a trial run before renting it out this time. She designed the house and really loves it, and it shows in lots of little details. Tips we would give: renting a car is a must and a 4x4 is recommended; the road is a bit bumpy and steep (well, it is on a Caribbean mountain.) You buy your own drinking water in gallons. Katherine, the manager, lives right nearby and is wonderful and has lots of good suggestions for restaurants and things to do. When my husband needed some minor medical care for his eye, Katherine directed us right to a very good specialist and even offered to drive us. Highly recommended for hikers, lovers of sailing, beaches, views.
