Our family has traveled to Ocean Isle for well over 30 years. Our children are now grown with children of their own. This house was by far the best we have ever rented. Two refrigerators and an additional ice maker were a plus. The beds were so comfy and we loved having sheets already on the beds. The bedrooms are large and easily accommodate a pack and play, two in some cases. Lots of beach and pool toys available as well. Missy quickly responded to an internet issue we had- so easy to work with!

The home was spacious well appointed. There were a few items that should be addressed. The toaster was from the dollar store..extremely small and the bottom was missing. A hand towel holder in one bathroom was hanging from the wall. It could be an extremely beautiful home given some extra attention. The pool and surrounding area was really nice and the walkway to the beach was super. Some of the mattresses need replaced. My husband and I had the queen bed attached to the Jack and Jill bath and you rolled into the middle. Really bad mattress!! Over all we had a pleasant stay.

For the price I thought the property was not as well-appointed as I had expected and some of the kitchen accoutrements were lacking. For example the pots and pans were in such poor shape that the property manager sent a new set of pots when we complained. The cookie sheets should all be thrown out as they are appalling—dirty and dented—resulting in poor cooking/baking results. The property overall looks to need some serious maintenance. Deck nails had popped up everywhere making walking without sandals hazardous at best. One mattress bed spring popped through and tore one of the linens—we managed to shove the spring back into place. There’s evidence of water damage on the ceiling in the lower level master bedroom—unsightly at best and suggestive of other underlying issues (structural as well as possible mold). The cooking burner next to the grill did not work. Unfortunate as we tend to cook a lot on vacation. Also for a property that sleeps 12, the dining room table only had nine chairs, odd. Although there were a number of stools that we ended up using. Also an odd agglomeration of old and worn beach equipment to say the least. In general a little TLC and some paint and cosmetic repair is definitely in order, especially for a property that charges as much as this one for a week. Please pass this message onto to owner and encourage him to step up.

This house has a wonderful location on the island.

We were so torn on how to rate this property as there are some aspects that were spectacular but also some notable drawbacks. Pros: -Beautiful views from the living area and both master bedrooms -Master bathrooms were suuuper luxurious -Layout of living space was perfect for our group (6 adults and one toddler) and had plenty of seating. Plenty of space all around actually and every bedroom has an en-suite bath (one is shared Jack and Jill w kids room) -Direct beach access was SO nice and it’s the ideal beach section on the west end -Pool gets sun all day so didn’t need heating -sheets and towels provided via linen service were great and plentiful -The house feels solid & sturdier than new construction materials; bedrooms were nice and quiet -Tons of beach chairs, towels, toys, etc Cons: -In a nutshell, it just doesn’t feel well maintained. Granted we were at the end of the season, but the cupboards and drawers were all stuffed full, disorganized, and had “ten spatulas but no cheese grater” syndrome. Not well thought out. Same with the beach chairs and toys - there are a ton, but they are just stacked/thrown in the inner stairwell. Some of the pool toys were so buried in the big bin they were disintegrating. -Many loose boards, spindles and nail pops on the outdoor stairs and walkway (wear shoes and watch kiddos). There was a paint can holding up the bed in one of the master suites, water stains and bowing in the ceiling, pictures just set on the ground -Beds uncomfortably soft -There was also a peculiar lack of outdoor furniture on the decks - only 2 rocking chairs (plus one for kids) and one small hightop. There wasn’t seating for us to all hang out outside together. There are 3 lawn chairs at the pool, and another round table with 3 chairs, one of which is broken. -On the other side of the empty lot (west of the house) is a wedding rental. This is not something the owners can help of course, but the music is loud and disrupts the tranquility; there was a wedding the day we arrived and another party moved in and we’re whooping it up the following Thurs & Fri. There is a noise ordinance requiring cut off at 11pm which was adhered to. -We called with a few maintenance issues: toilet running, sink backing up, exposed wiring from an outlet, etc. It took a few hours to get a response; someone did come out the next day and fixed the sink, left to get a part and never returned With some TLC this place could be great!!

Had a great time. Wished we could stay another week. House was ok. Needs some things fixed and the cleanliness could have been better

We have been taking this house for several years and always have a great time! Kevin and Missy make it all so easy. The house is a perfect beach place-it’s comfy and we love the location. Being oceanfront as well as having a pool are musts for us so this house is a great spot for us. We will be back!

The house is beautiful and the location perfect. Plenty of room for the 12 of us. Some nice surprises were the supply of books, games, and beach chairs. The property was clean but is beginning to show wear and tear. Hairdryers are not provided and the bed pillows (at least in our room) were horribly thin - even when new they were bad. Oh, and no crockpot. Even with these few deficits I would stay here again.

We had a great time staying here. We had 10 adults and 2 children. Plenty of room for all of us. The living room had enough seating for us all to sit there together. The kitchen was roomy and had Appliances needed ( only thing was it has a 2 slice toaster, a bigger toaster would have been more convenient). Beds were very comfortable. The air conditioner upstairs broke early evening on Saturday I text the management and they said they would have someone there on Sunday. They did and it was fixed. Very happy with the efficiency of fixing it. The house location is great. The beach is beautiful and peaceful. The pool was great and roomy. We all really enjoyed our stay and was very comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at this house. A great spot for a big family reunion with lots of kids. There were a few issues, but nothing we couldn’t handle. A big problem was that one of the beds had no sheets and when we realized it, it was late at night so no one answered our call for some. That was really problematic... It was resolved the next morning but I think there needs to be a plan B set up with the property manager for someone to be in town in case there are issues at night like this. Other than that, all was great. The location is actually perfect, the beach was pretty empty and the pool was lovely. We would definitely return.

Beautiful home! Wonderful location on the beach. This was our 1st time in 30 years staying on the West End and we loved it

We had a wonderful two weeks in this home. Would have extended another week if it had the availability. Don’t have a single complaint. The location was perfect. We never left the house, just split our time between the beach and the pool. We drove 17 hours with three teenagers to get there and wouldn’t hesitate to do it again!

We loved the house/pool. The only reason gave a 4 for over all was no elevator or lift for getting things in the house. It was alot on us older group. The most beautiful views that we have had in a long time. The pool looked small but was fine for the 6 of us. The yard area around the pool was very nice. We did find using the inside steps going in and out was better than the front steps because they were very narrow. If there was an elevator or lift it would be our go too house always. The owner and Missy were great to work with. Thanks for sharing your beach house with others !

Perfect location. Layout of this home worked well for the 10 of us. Dishwasher, washer, dryer worked great! Great family memories made!

Was an amazing week at our gorgeous beach house. We had family visiting from across the pond and they loved the house and location. My only regret is the house did not have an elevator and the kitchen was not stocked with appropriate pots and pans(for those of us who like to prepare meals at the beach)

This house was perfect for three families with children of varying ages. Loved being right on the beach! Kitchen was nicely stocked. Bar area with an extra refrigerator and ice maker was a bonus.

Excellent experience with this property owner and the house

Everything was as expected and better. After unpacking on Saturday, I attempted to get online using the local wifi, but it and cable were both down. PM was very responsive the issue and even though it was our fault (someone accidentally unplugged a key item in one of the guest rooms) PM stuck with me to resolve the issue. Leave your beach chairs at home, this place has all you need. Very happy with the rental.

We had a fantastic week. The property was exactly as promised. Our family loved the spaciousness, plenty of room for all of us. Loved having private access to the beach and our own pool to cool off in after our beach time. We enjoyed using the gas grill- steaks, burgers, brats, shrimp, hot dogs! Location is perfect, very quiet street. Wifi was on point, ceiling fans were a plus. are going to re- book for 2020!!

The house is very well maintained and beautiful. Minor questions were quickly answered. The gazebo is perfect for beach watching and getting some shade. Very impressive rental.

It was absolutely beautiful weekend and house served us perfectly. Everything about this property is outstanding, thought thru and beautiful. House is well maintained, stock up and clean ! Thank you so much to allow us rent it for our wedding! We were happy there!

My family and I usually rent a house on Holden Beach, but we waited too long, and there were no houses available. We enjoyed our first stay at Ocean Isle. The beach is very similar to Holden. Clean sand, waves aren't too rough and very little undertow. This is very important to my wife and I since we have four kids ages 7-16. There are more people on the beaches as compared to Holden, but it's not crowded. Kids enjoyed buying Italian ice from the vendor that rolled his cart down the beach every day around noon. The house was spacious and comfortable. It was nice having a little yard around the pool. We had a couple of maintenance issues the day we checked in, but they were addressed the next day. House is equipped with a good selection of beach chairs and toys. We would definitely rent this house again!

The house checks all of our boxes: private pool, no public beach access on either side, pretty decor and great location. The owners make the whole process seamless. We will come back to this house.

This is our second year in a row staying in this beautiful house (thanks for the cookies and treats Kevin everyone loved them). And once again we had a tremendous time and at the pool and on the beach. It definitely has everything you would need to enjoy a week at the beach. Spacious enough for 3 families with 6 adults and 7 kids. Was pleasantly surprised with the abundance of beach chairs this year. Thanks again for providing this house as always
