The view was amazing and we really enjoyed our stay!

ABSOLUTELY my favorite place we have ever stayed on any of our Caribbean adventures! I would like to tell you all everything we loved about this place but I don't have two weeks to spare. Lol. Location? OMG!!!! Breath taking! Very convenient to Cruz Bay also. Owner was AWESOME and Johnny on the spot with answers to any of our questions. You could tell he had done a ton of remodeling and stated he had other improvements on the way in the next month or two but honestly.....It doesn't need a thing now. We WILL be back and wouldn't even think about staying anywhere else. PARADISE!

Such a cool spot, right over the Chocolate Hole bay, we loved it.

I would certainly reserve this property again! The location couldn't be beat and the views are AMAZING! The pool hit the spot after beachin' it all day and beach towels and chairs were provided, which made the packing easier. I do wish they had a small cooler for guests to take to beach, but cannot complain. The grocery store was just a short trip away!

We had a really wonderful time at Southern Cross. The location is great, the updates to the house were very comfortable (new appliances/vanities and furniture) we had everything there that we needed. We have a 3 year old and we felt very comfortable with her in the upstairs bedroom, which is a great set up if you want your little ones bedroom close to the master-the bedrooms downstairs seem perfect for a bigger group or older kids as they would have their own space. We had a really wonderful time…always love St. John and we were sad to leave! Spent over a week at Benjamin’s and will definitely return! He mentioned new kitchen cabinets are going in but honestly that will just make all that much better, we were very happy with everything as it was! You won’t be disappointed!

Good property close to town with excellent views of Chocolate Hole. Will be great once the new owner completes all the renovations underway. Will definitely stay again!

Southern Cross is a stunning home! The views of Chocolate Hole and Cruz Bay are so beautiful! The new owners have updated all the appliances and furniture . The house had everything we needed for our family of five. The owner is so communicative and incredibly nice! We will definitely be back!

We have stayed at numerous Villa’s on St. John’s. All of them have been around the same price point. However, this Villa was in poor condition. The oven did not work, the refrigerator only got to about 50 degrees - anything you put in there would not stay cold, one of the bedrooms ac units did not work, the screens to the doors in the living room were loose which let mosquitos in, the deck was so unsafe (nails were popped up, boards were high/low/loose - just walking on the deck was dangerous, it was hard to get a shower as the last pressure was so low - I get it that it is on a pump system - but this was bad. I messaged the owner who did not respond, but sent a message to the property mgmt company. They called the next day and showed up. The oven and fridge were shot. They were going to work on replacing then. Didjnt help us - just that we were screwed. The got the ac to turn on, but then we could not shut it off and the room was still not usable as it was too cold. The deck and the screens they were aware of. They stated that they have been telling the owner about these issues and “that he did not want to fix anything now and just wanted to keep turning it over”. When spending this kind of $ on a Villa, you except average accommodations . This was well below being acceptable. I feel sorry for the next guest that will be staying here.

Had amazing views and location is perfect for getting back and forth to the beaches and ferry .

This is our 2nd time to Southern Cross and it was even better than the first! The house was clean and spacious and the views are UNBELIEVABLE!!! The proximity to town and the beaches is also incredible. The Master bedroom and shower are incredible. The ONLY downside was not having air conditioning in the main living/dining/kitchen area but the bedrooms were all plenty cool with ac units. We loved it and hope to be back!!!

We had a great time on our recent stay at Southern Cross Villa. The views are amazing, we loved the pool at the end of the day and enjoyed the breezy mornings and evenings on the porch. I understand there are some upgrades planned, but overall it's a wonderful and relaxing place to be. The house has many amenities and we didn't need anything not already there. Plenty of showers, beds, and space to have some quiet time and breathtaking views. Tori and Katja were fantastic with instant communication when we needed it, helpful with information and recommendations. Our host Benjamin, was also great to deal with, responsive, reactive and helpful. They all made us feel welcome and important as their guests. The location is very convenient as well, a quick 5 min ride to Cruz Bay. We rented a car, but used a taxi service one time that picked us up at the house and brought us to the short hike trail to Honeymoon Beach for $35 for 5 of us, so there are reasonable options to get around. We loved our trip and would repeat it in the future at Southern Cross.

It was by total accident that we rented a house in St. John, but I’ve never been so happy to make a mistake. The view is better than the pictures, the house is set perfectly to never need the AC, and the management was kind enough to leave us a map with some “must see” suggestions at check-in. My wife and I have found our little slice of heaven, and are in the process of planning our return trip before the end of the year. This home will be on the top of our list when we get settled on a return date!

We absolutely enjoyed our time at this property. It is located close to Cruz Bay, is secluded and the views are breathtaking. They house is very unique and has a ton of space. The pool was a great place to start and end our day. Katja was easily accessible for any and all questions. They were able to stock our kitchen with the provisions we asked for abs gave us some recommendations on different places to eat and charter companies to book with. When we come back to St. John we will definitely stay here again.

The house is in a great location and the views are amazing! As others have said, updates are needed throughout house but especially to doors/windows. The wind blows through upstairs rooms with everything shut; be prepared for mosquitos. We rented Jeeps and if you want to do much exploring you will need a vehicle. We were able to get a taxi to pickup and drop off at end of the road one evening.

Four of us stayed at this property. The property is spacious and each of the four bedrooms with an ensuite. As others have indicated, many of the screens could use replacing and at certain times of day the mosquitos were out and about indoors. I'd recommend having some DEET for those senstive to bites. Yes, the kitchen could use some updates, but all the appliances were in good order with lots of cooking tools and plenty of filtered ice for cocktails. Benjamin, the owner, was fantastic to speak with and had helpful advice. He recently acquired the property and is planning a full update to the space-- which I'm sure will be fanstastic. The pool was perfectly sized and comfortable for cooling dips with nearly full day sun exposure. The views are postcard worthy and the location quiet to watch boats coming in and out of chocolate hole. Tori, the on-island property manager is truly the best I've ever had and not only met us there, but gave us a quick drive the grocery store for extra supplies. Overall-- I'd be interested in staying again and am terribly curious to see what the villa looks like once the renovations are complete.

There were 8 adults in our group and we we never felt too crowded. Great location for enjoying St. John...close enough to town, groceries, beaches, everything. The house needs a little updating/love, but it had what we needed for a fantastic week with friends and family. If you want to hire a chef, highly recommend Chef Ted/Ted's Supper Club. One of the best meals we've ever had! And we love to eat!

The views could not be equaled. The house still needs updated. I know the ownership and management has just changed, and believe that will make a difference. The new owner needs to purchase a sun blanket for the pool - electricity being too expensive, and update the beach chairs - I would add an inexpensive sentient as well. Overall would rent again.

Great place, could use some renovations/upgrading in the kitchen, also lots of screens needed replacing - but other than that it was wonderful!

The view and home layout make it a winner. The home needs updating and maintenance(mainly all the sliding doors in bad shape, several things not working 100%) If you can get past that it's a great place to stay..and we did. It recently changed property management companies so hopefully the needed repairs will be done and maintenance improved. We were met at the dock in Cruz bay and led to the property by Nick and his awesome shirt, a very short, easy drive. Quiet, private location. Spacious, comfortable rooms/beds, great views from the deck and pool. Wouldn't take much to be 5 star.

Most beautiful view ever! Quiet and private. Pool was amazing! We had the best time! St. John never disappoints and the view from the house and swimming at night added to the fun!

The view from this property is unreal. I would frequently wake up early to watch the sun rise over the mountains. So beautiful. There is A/C in the bedrooms, and the rest of the house gets plenty of sea breeze to cool it down. The pool was a great lounging area, also with a good view. Be mindful that you’re on an island near the water, which means you will encounter bugs, especially mosquitoes. The home was very clean apart from the occasional insects that would come in from outside. The home fit 8 people comfortably, and we were able to enjoy various parts of the house with plenty of space and even solitude if one needed that. Christine was very helpful and responds to texts emails within the hour, even as promptly as within minutes. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely return.

Great property, private with easy ride to downtown Cruz Bay. Views and breeze made a relaxing outdoor experience.

We loved everything about Southern Cross! The house was better than we expected, the view was ridiculous, and the location was close to everything. We can’t wait to return!

Everything was awesome

This is a lovely, spacious, well-equipped home. Everything functioned well, including steady, reasonably quick internet. The property owner is very easy to reach and always had a ready answer and advice.

Our family had a wonderful trip staying at the estate. What a beautiful property with an even better view. Spent may afternoons and evenings by the pool or cooking and eating on the pool deck. We look forward to our next trip to St. John and would stay again!

Southern Cross sits out on the edge of a hill facing the southeast side of Chocolate Hole with stunning sunrises, ocean breezes and cerulean blue water. The villa was very spacious as it was just three of us, and we only occupied the upstairs bedrooms. We enjoyed the pool and numerous decks with sitting areas overlooking the ocean and the villas around Chocolate Hole. The neighborhood is quiet and within a short drive to Cruz Bay. This was our 4th stay on St John and our first time since April 2017. We were pleasantly surprised as to how well the island has recovered overall. We usually stay in Coral Bay because we enjoy snorkeling at all the numerous beaches scattered on the north shores and east shores of the island. We enjoyed our stay at Southern across and I recommend it for those that like to hang out and enjoy a pool with a beautiful view. Christine was very prompt responding to my questions and a complete pleasure to correspond with while booking our trip.

We really enjoyed our stay. We are a family of 5 with 3 teenage daughters. Having a master bedroom for each was great! The villa is very convenient and the view is amazing
