This well appointed cabin is both comfortable and beautiful on the inside and out. From the luscious potted plants that greet you on the elevated walkway, to the antique stove that had seen generations of lovingly prepared meals, to the comfy bed and linens, this cabin has everything you need. Although this cabin could be child friendly for a summer getaway to the Frio river, we enjoyed the quiet evenings on the perched porch. The birdwatching was exceptional. I imagine that this cabin would be a wonderful getaway any month of the year. It has air conditioning, but also a real wood burning stove! You can tell that this cabin was built with love by the owners, and it is decorated with sentimental pieces of the family’s history. My recommendation is to bring plenty of food to cook at the cabin and maximize your time there. The drive from Austin is gorgeous if you avoid San Antonio traffic. Best to bring folding chairs if you decide to head to one of the state parks. The owners are politely accessible. They live next door in this slice of Heaven on Earth. There is a television, but we never even turned it on. The view was too magnificent to look away from. We can’t wait to return. Bill and Amelia

We ended our summer with a trip to the Frio and stayed at La Casita. This is our second visit to this cabin that has everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The breathtaking views are are great way to start and end the day.

An excellent getaway. The owners and Sharon (the cat) were fabulous. The time and effort they have put into this property is amazing. Very well kept.

Beautiful view of the canyon. We unfortunately didn't see as many colorful birds this year. Maybe next year!

This place is ADORABLE! We had the most amazing trip to the river with our family. It was so magical. The view is breathtaking and the river is as well. The owners are also the sweetest people ever! We loved everything about our stay and plan to definitely come back. Also even though we were in the middle of a drought there were still a ton of different places on the river to go swim!

By far the best place we’ve stayed in the area of Concan. The views were amazing, beautiful cabin, and the host was great! I recommend and definitely will return in the near future!

Our stay at La Casita was wonderful. We woke up to spectacular sunrises and birdsong. The variety of birds is incredible. The area is quiet, peaceful and the cabin is beautifully decorated and very well maintained. The owners next door are friendly and helpful. We were visiting family for a reunion and this was the perfect place to get away for some quiet time and recharge.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Casita. The wildlife and birds were lovely.

It was a unique experience to stay at this cabin. The outdoor activities were amazing (bird watching on the back porch, stepping out to take a walk and hike, visiting the Frio, gazing at the stars). The indoor activities were relaxing (cooking on an antique stove, catching up with family). Bring a couple of lounge chairs and some thin mattress pads for all out comfort (but you might want to stay forever).

We loved staying at LaCasita! The images of the property are exactly what you see. Not all locations come with everything, but this place really does. This is a peaceful, secluded location with amazing views of the hill country and countless birds. The check in proceed and communication was exceptional and we would stay there again. Highly recommend

Amazing place with amazing hosts.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay. I spent all morning drinking my coffee and enjoying the birds and other wildlife on the balcony. The view was amazing. This may become are recurring home away from home when we visit the area. Thank you Mike for showing us around and making us feel welcomed.

This cottage is magical. We loved watching all the varieties of birds at the feeders and the armadillo rooting around down below in the evening. Owners were next door and very helpful.

The cabin was perfect for a winter getaway from city life. The kitchen is well equipped and the cabin was spotless. The view from the patio is the perfect place to watch the sunset. In the morning, drinking coffee and watching all the birds come to feed was very peaceful. I’m native to Texas, but saw birds I’d never seen previously. The owners are next door, friendly and helpful. If you need a quiet break, book your stay!

Beautiful location, rustic hilltop setting overlooking a valley, beautiful house made from the native rock, flowers and trees surrounded the home and inside accommodations were calling us to stop and stay a while, which we did much to our delight.

This property was perfect for my family of 4. It had everything we needed for our stay. The view is so much better in person than in pictures. The oven is from the 1940s and so you need to light the pilot light to use it. It worked just fine and we had no problems. The check-in process was easy. It did require us to visit a different location than the property but it was on the way and didn't really impact us. I called the property manager and she didn't answer but she called me back within seconds. She was very responsive. The neighborhood was very quiet and we were able to see wildlife from the porch. I'm so happy we found this place. It was a great stay.
