Very clean and comfortable. Stunning location, even with the odd fog horn. Really helped to have laundry available. Efficient checkin.

Being right on the point of the narrows was amazing. The view was breathtaking. The assistant light keepers house was perfect. Big windows facing the lighthouse and the water. A beautiful sight all day long. The home was cozy, comfortable and clean. I would definitely stay there again.

Property managers were a great help & very responsive. The location and accommodations are second to none! We'll definitely come back!

What a unique and special stay at The Asst. Lightkeeper's House. The space is so well appointed and cozy and it was a pleasure to walk out every morning and see such a magnificent view. Communication with the owners was very easy and we would absolutely encourage others to stay here if you're looking for a not-so-average getaway in St. John's.

Best most interesting place to stay ever! No need to look elsewhere. Clean, cozy, well equipped, fantastic views and authentic coastal lookout experience. Will stay here whenever we return hands down. Can’t wait 👍😎

First time to the Rock. Used the assistant lighthouse cabin as our base for 5 days of exploring the Avalon Peninsula!! Great location at the entrance to the harbour fun seeing all the boat traffic coming and going. Fabulous sunrises every morning!!

What an amazing property and a fantastic view of St John’s harbour. Definitely the highlight of our family vacation to Newfoundland

I would 200% recommend to all my friends visiting St. Johns. The views are incredible! I did not want to leave the house for fear of missing out the views. The sunrise is epic! The first rays of light look pristine and the rays come right into our bed. I had a streak of good weather. I could spend hours on the deck searching for whales. Or we could watch the ships sail by or just watch signal hill from the window. It was thoughtful that the owners provided binoculars and hat to help with whale watching. In the night, the views of the city are pretty. Indoors, the house provided everything we could hope for. We were living in a piece of history. The beds are comfortable and washroom has hot water. Everything was clean. There were fun things to do in the city nearby but we wouldn't leave the place.

Arriving at the property we were excited because it was such an unusual and interesting approach up the hill and alongside St John’s harbour. The view is spectacular and the property was close to everything - the city, Signal Hill and Cape Spear. It was fun to see whales in the distance from the deck and watch the boats in and around the harbour. Fantastic sunrise and sunsets from two different decks. Our hosts were very responsive and great to deal with. Have already booked for next year. Thanks Peter and Nicole for a fabulous few days!

This property was the perfect coastal retreat for our family. The location is simply stunning! The narrow, winding road leading to the property takes you past the local marina and offers views of landmarks including the Battery, Cabot Tower, and Cape Spear. From the front room of the home you can sit and watch the waves lap the rocks as gulls soar overhead and boats enter and leave the harbour. The beauty and serenity of the property is second to none. The home was well-appointed and very comfortable for our family of 4. The location is convenient and close to downtown. It was a wonderful getaway in our own back yard. We will return in a heart beat.

Absolutely stunning

House was extremely comfortable with all amenities needed and some. 2 great porches with views to sit and soak in the one of a kind view travellers seek and renters get to enjoy for days. Very short drive to St. John’s downtown and 30 minutes to north and south tourist sites and activities a plenty including golf. Hosts were great in sharing local info and assuring our stay was great. Extra bonus was the opportunities to meet so many other travellers and locals whom visit the site to take in the lighthouse and views. Whale and boat activity was frequent and binoculars in house made viewing activities even better. We are fortunate that people rent theses unique types of properties. The lighthouse is active including a fog horn to warn of incoming and active fog and added to the experience.

This is the perfect location to experience St. John’s and the surrounding area. The views from the cottage are stunning and if you time it right the whales pass by daily. The drive into the city is just a few minutes and the East Coast trail is on your doorstep if you don’t want to drive. The cottage has everything you need and your hosts are readily available if you have a question. Overall an excellent place to stay!!
