This is our second year at Black Bear, last year we rented the "biggest" townhouse in the community and we did not want to rent it again. Bigger is not always better. We were very pleased with this year's townhouse. It was very well equipped and clean. The two king sized beds were very comfortable, which was a nice change from last year's experience. The on-demand shuttle is wonderful for the skiers in the group, and it was also appreciated by our non skiers because it was easy for them to join us for lunch. Other reviews complained about the carpet. It is true is looks a bit worn, but then it is a rental property and unfortunately people are not always as responsible as they should be, so there are stains. That did not bother us at all. My greatest compliment is I will be renting this townhouse next season.

But other than that the rooms and bathrooms were clean and well decorated. The neighborhood was really cute and there is a cute lake down the road. Lots of great hiking trails nearby. We never did figure out where the hot tub and pool were. I thought they were nearby because of the pictures but we never found them. We never asked though. We had our dog with us and It worked out really good. There was a nice long tiled hallway in the entryway that was a great place for a bed and food for him.

The house was very clean and well prepared for our stay. I felt like we could contact the property manager easily, in case we needed anything (not that we did). It is a bit of a ways from Durango, but right across the street from Purgatory. It worked well for our family vacation.

We stayed four nights. The location is awesome, though it is about .8 mile to the base of the beginner area, so not walkable with young children carrying skis. The on-demand shuttle was prompt (within 10 minutes of calling), picked up right at the front door, and dropped off at whichever location at Purgatory Resort we wanted, which was awesome for the grandmother and young kids who wanted abbreviated ski days. Nice to know things for future guests: the garage was deep enough for us to park our Honda Pilot with hitch carrier attached. There is a rack on the wall for 4 sets of skis, and plenty of space for our boots to stay in the garage to dry out after skiing. The kitchen has everything you would need, except for sandwich bags, which would have been nice for packing our lunches. Coffee filters are provided for the coffee maker. There are foam pads for the fold-out sleepers, and plenty of sheets and towels. Just a tip for travelers, or a suggestion for the owner: One thing we brought ourselves, which might be a helpful addition for the owner to provide, were over-the-door hooks. Since we have skied with kids before and know that their outerwear tends to get scattered when they take it off after skiing, we brought our own hooks to keep their gear organized and hung right in the entryway/exit to the garage. There is a coat rack in the entryway, but we liked having additional room to hang our kids' ski clothing. The only issue we had was that the washer and dryer were not working, but an email to the owner resolved this quickly and we were able to use the washer and dryer the next day.

My boyfriend, dog, and I enjoyed our stay in Durango at this awesome ski condo. We were there for three weeks and were able to walk our dog around the pond every morning and hike or mountain bike every evening. Would love to return one day!

Beautiful location, tons to do. The third “bedroom” is not really a bedroom at all but the pull out couch downstairs worked out fine to accommodate is. Otherwise a fantastic condo.

The home is very nice, clean, and well-stocked with plenty of cooking supplies. The location was perfect for a quick walk around Twilight Lake or a longer hike on Purgatory Flats. I would definitely recommend staying there to others. My family had a great time!

Our family of four, had a fabulous four-Day weekend at this lovely property! Our two girls, ages 8 & 10 LOVED being able to walk to the little lake and have picnics and play for hours. The condo is clean, well furnished and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The management company took care of both of the request we had, quickly and efficiently! If you have a Jeep or other 4x4 vehicle, don’t miss the “LimeCreek Road” drive to Silverton (though not for the faint of heart!) Easy drive to the Four Corners Monument, ShipRock and Mesa Verde! If staying in is your thing.......this is a beautiful place to do that too! We’ll be back!

Sofa couch was comfortable and the king bed and the single beds(2) but the third love seat/bed was not ideal at all and the room wasn't even a real room like its claimed to be it's more like a study room. The person that was gonna stay in this "room" ended up sleeping on the floor because it was more comfortable than the loveseat/bed. For a family this place works great, for 2 couples not so much because the other couples bed is the sofa couch by the living room and kitchen. For a group of single friends this place would work too but no more than 5 and that would be sharing beds . If guests aren't picky you can definitely have more people. Location is great right in front of the moutain.

It was nice to have a garage to park in. The kitchen was a nice size kitchen to be able to cook with more than one person.The appliances were updated and clean as well as the nice size fridge/freezer. Living room space was nice and the balcony was amazing. I just wish the outdoor furniture was clean enough to enjoy sitting instead of standing to enjoy the view and coffee in the mornings.Upstairs bedrooms were nice size and the master bathroom was amazing. Loved it! The only real negative thing I have to say is that it was probably the worst night sleep we (family of 4) have ever gotten. Being from Texas we're used to the heat and while there's no AC in most places in Colorado you open a window which is perfectly fine with us... There are NO ceiling fans which makes no air circulating throughout the entire upstairs. We had every window open. We did find a box fan but put in the kids room because they could only open 1 window because one of the screens was on the ground.The road noise at night was AWFUL.. after finally falling asleep we would wake up to the big trucks breaking around the corner and other cars speeding by. That being said.... we did like this place and if we rented again we would bring our own fans.

Overall location was great but this particular unit was along the highway and with windows and doorwalll open the car noise was obnoxious and with no A/C there was no other option in summer. Also garbage was left behind from prior guests and unit needs a good cleaning and or carpet replacement as it was very dirty. Bathroom drains also seem to be very slow.

The App for check in didn't work, but someone was available by phone to give me the code. The unit was not clean when we got there but the management company gave me a discount off of the cleaning to make up for it.
