Great location! We had five adult couples enjoying the house, yard and dock for a long weekend. Everything we needed was available. Loved the card and board games indoors, as well as the paddle board out on the water. Fire pit was perfect and the patio/grill area makes a nice space to hang outdoors in nice weather. The beds were SO comfy. Checkin and communication were quick and easy.

Perfection! Perfect location and home! Well stocked. Great furnishings. Even nicer than the pictures. Made day trips to Petoskey, Charlevoix, Mackinaw and Pictured Rock National Park. Chose to stay home one day just to enjoy the beautiful view of Burt Lake. Dining table so big we were able to play cards with seven people and still had room at the other end to keep a huge puzzle going. Made our trip!

We spend a week each summer in northern Michigan with family. This rental is a favorite, for many reasons! The house is spacious, updated and well thought out. We enjoyed boating, tubing, biking, fishing and swimming. Playing croquet in the back yard was a great activity for all of us, from grandpa to the younger kids. We played all week! There were games and movies for evenings and rainy days. The open floor plan worked out really well for our group. The long kitchen table was perfect for meals and game nights. We enjoyed the spacious and well supplied kitchen. The bedrooms and bathrooms were updated and nice. The teens loved walking or biking down to Hoppy’s for Cokes, while the younger kids enjoyed frog hunting and relaxing in the hammock. We had s’mores by the camp fire most nights while watching the beautiful beachfront sunsets. None of us wanted to go home! We would love to come back and create more wonderful memories.

Lovely home. All necessary amenities. Great pontoon. Slippery stone lake bottom, is our only negative. Owners were super.

This house is gorgeous. It is set up perfectly for families. Lots of private spaces and lots of open space to gather inside and out. This house has everything you need. We loved having the pontoon boat that the whole family could enjoy. Thanks to Jenna and Matt for sharing the little piece of heaven!

We had a great time at this spacious lake house. The lay-out worked perfectly for 4 families. We appreciated the large kitchen, ample counter space, and extra-long dining table. Kitchen was well-stocked. We enjoyed the dock, pontoon, kayaks, and fire pit. Neighborhood was nice for walks and quiet overall. Would definitely stay here again!

Burts Hideaway was just awesome. Absolutely awesome home with all the appointments we needed for our group of 10. The pontoon boat, amazing dock and grassy area with picnic tables gave us space to play and spread out. And the huge dinner table allowed all TEN of us to eat together every night—That doesn’t happen often at home. Thanks to Jenna and Matt who are absolutely amazing hosts. Very responsive when contacted. Huge thank you to you both for letting us enjoy a week at your lake home. We are so excited to come again next year!

Beautiful property. Our family of 7 adults had plenty of room

This lakehouse was beautiful and spotless and had everything we needed for our family vacation. The kitchen was well stocked and plenty big for us to prepare meals for 9 every day. The dining table was perfect for seating up to 10 and transformed into our place for board games. The variety of bedrooms and bathrooms accommodates young and old in multiple arrangements as your group needs. The dock was new and sturdy with plenty of room. The lake is shallow near the dock which allowed our 4-6-year-olds a safe place to swim. We made good use of the 2 kayaks, paddleboards, and some other items kept in the garage including croquet, pool noodles, and fishing poles. There is new outdoor furniture for picnics and relaxing. These hosts have not forgotten the small stuff, like a first aid kit and coffee grinder. The only items we did not find were an air pump for the bicycles and hair dryers. We highly recommend Burt’s Hideaway and look forward to returning with our family.

Very nice home with all the amenities! Matt and Jenna were very helpful, and everything was as expected with a home like this. Beautiful view of the lake and easy access. Great location on a side road near a nice restaurant. Excellent!

Beautiful location. Wonderful accommodations. We had enough beds and chairs at the table for 8 adults and 4 littles. Big kitchen helped a lot. We had everything we needed to enjoy great weather in the fall. Great hiking and places to visit are close by. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. highly recommended.

Walleye and perch were biting every morning. Pontoon is a great option. House is top notch and very comfortable for 10+. Fun places to eat nearby. Brian

We all had a great week! 4 adults and 5 children 5 and under and the house was absolutely perfect for us! Everything was exactly as stated and communication was fast and easy. Location is amazing both for being on the lake and for getting around to neighboring towns/cities. High praise all around!!

Overall excellent accommodations. There were eight adults and one two year old and no one ever felt crowded. Great fully stocked kitchen which is the most spacious we have ever seen. Great place to kick back and relax or take day trips to Mackinac or Petoskey. A definite repeat location!

We had 3 generations of family meet for a reunion at this property (11 total). It was the perfect home to accommodate all of us. We enjoyed the large dining room table where we shared meals every evening. The large kitchen had absolutely everything we needed to make and grill our own meals each day. The owners were very responsive and went above and beyond to work with us on renting a pontoon boat elsewhere when there's was unexpectedly unavailable. The location was perfect - beautiful sunsets and campfires along the lake and close to Mackinac City to catch the ferry. Can't thank you enough for sharing your beautiful property with us.

This house and the location was just perfect for our family to enjoy peace and quiet on the lake, yet close enough to visit Mackinac Island a few times during our stay! The accommodations at the house were plenty for us to enjoy through the week. Kayaking, pontoon, firepit, cornhole and the most beautiful sunsets to enjoy! We highly recommend staying here, and we truly hope to get back to this little piece of heavan someday.

The property was as advertised if not better. The view of the lake is terrific the house was tastefully decorated, clean and well appointed. A very beautiful place and location.

What a lovely getaway!! This home is gorgeous and perfect for a family vacation. If we could give it more than 5 stars, we would.

It was the perfect place to meet in the middle for my family and we had a great time. The house easily accommodated the family and we were much happier eating real food instead of having to get pizza because we stayed in a hotel. We made snowmen in the yard and watched the storm make great waves. The kids were much happier having real space to play and we all had a great time.

1. Exceeded expectations. 2. Bedroom by living room should have privacy shades on windows to living room. 3. Literature said charcoal grill but does have propane grill. 4. Literature said no A/C. (maybe it didn't work but there was a unit there.)

We’ve stayed at multiple VRBOs and this one had us book our next trip at the same place! I was amazed at how nice the property was and all the items in the home that we were able to use. Can’t wait to come back!

Perfect for the whole family. We had a party of 12 ranging from 2 to 75. Fully stocked home including kitchen and garage full of activities. Highly recommend renting the pontoon for days of swimming and sunset evenings.

Our group of 10 consisted of my family of 4 (2 adults/2 teens), my sister, brother in law and their 5 year old, my parents and my mother in law. Immediately upon arrival, our 15 year old son looked back at his grandma and said, "Grandma, this place is soooo clean". We have had some not so great experiences with cleanliness, but Matt and Jenna's house was immaculate. Everything that was stated in the listing was accurate. There were numerous pantry items, laundry supplies, kitchen supplies and an extra refrigerator in the garage, which is so nice with a large group. The grandparents each had their own master suite/bathroom on the main floor, which worked out perfect. The upstairs bathroom is so functional with 3 separate rooms for shower, toilet and sink area. We had a couple of days that were chilly and rainy, but visited Topinabee and Indian River and also finished a 750 piece puzzle that another renter had left. We had a few nice days to use the pontoon, which was also immaculate and a big hit with the kids for tubing. All in all, one of the best properties we've stayed at, with great communication from the owners. Thank you for an amazing stay - we hope to return one day!

This is the 2nd time we stayed with our family at Burt’s Hideway! Wonderful location, super clean and so much room for all of us to reconnect. Always love having the pontoon so we can cruise around as well. Thank you!
