We loved having space for four families to meet and play, the kids loved the game room, and everyone loved playing in the water using the provided paddle boards and other toys. The glassed-in deck was perfect for morning coffee and many chats with family. Thank you for a memorable week!

Pop Castle is a hidden gem in the NN. It is a great place for a wedding. We had about 40 people there and everything was as advertised. Plenty of amenities and space. We loved it. The cleaning fee was hefty but Pop Castle was everything we wanted and needed. Walid was a good host and we may come back for a anniversary.

We booked Pop Castle for our wedding and and everything was nice. The house was perfect and the area is so peaceful. We couldn't have chosen a better place . Everything about Pop Castle was amazing. The owners are so sweet and helpful. I highly recommend staying there . You won't be disappointed.

We stayed at Pop Castle for our wedding weekend and it was one of the best decisions we could have made! The property is absolutely beautiful with an incredible view of the river, and the home itself is wonderful and full of history. Walid was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. I would recommend Pop Castle to anyone wanting to explore this underrated part of Virginia.

This is an amazing house and we had a great time. We were having a family reunion there, and we had 4 families with many little kids. This house was big enough to hold all 16 of us comfortably. Even the kitchen and dining spaces were big enough to allow us to cook for everyone which is often not the case in other houses we've rented. And we loved the huge screened in porch. We spent tons of time there. The kids loved the game room and the adults loved how quiet the house was when the kids were in the game room. Walid was a great host and we really enjoyed our stay. It was very hot while we were there (in July) but the AC in the house (and game room) worked great. The yard and private beach are also fantastic. The beach is great, mostly shaded by trees, and a great place to sit in the chairs or hammock. The kids had a great time and spent hours making sandcastles. Unfortunately several of the days we couldn't swim because there were too many jellyfish in the water. But there were lots of other fun things to do including kayaking, paddleboarding and having water fights. One of the days we took the kids to Williamsburg which was a lot of fun. The yard/grounds are huge and we had some epic hide and seek games there and the kids just loved exploring. There are also tons of outdoor games in the game room. The house is well stocked with many activities and even in a week we didn't come close to trying everything. Overall it is a wonderful house and we had a great time. We really appreciated that the house could hold our whole extended family comfortably with plenty of space for everyone. It made for a wonderful family reunion. Thank you Walid!

We had a group of 16 — 8 adults and 8 kids(ages from 8 to 16) We all had a great time— the house and grounds are loaded with all the games and activities we needed. We had a family Olympics with pickle ball, basketball and campus golf included— Kitchen had all the equipment we needed and more! I would consider renting again!

I can't decide what to rate higher--the owners or the actual property. The owners were delightful and very accommodating. I feel like they are friends and all of us want to remain friends with them. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt completely at home in their gorgeous home. The property is absolutely stunning. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience.

This property was perfect for a family gathering. We had several catered meals by the Car Wash Cafe. A memorial celebration of Life at St Marys White Chapel. The elders stayed at Pop Castle and others stayed near by at a Best Western. The house had plenty of room to relax and everyone had a wonderful time. Beds are comfortable and the house decor is very interesting. The location is a bit over an hour from Richmond Va airport. Thank you for a perfect weekend.

When we opened the door and entered the house for the first time, we all commented on how extraordinarily clean it was! The heaters on the porch provided enough heat for all of us to spend the majority of time there playing games or eating meals, if we weren’t on the dock or roasting oysters over the fire-pit at night. Being able to bring our fur-babies was an extra bonus. Walid was a very responsive host even checking in with me mid-way through our stay to see if we needed anything. Pop Castle was an amazing place to spend the 4th of July week! The home and grounds were absolutely stunning!

We had a very nice 10 day family reunion at Pop Castle and would have stayed longer if it had been available. The grounds were like a park with enormous magnolia, oak, and pine trees, and amazing boxwoods & flowers. Outside and inside the house was a delight. The owners thought of everything to make it a relaxing stay. The view from the back porch between two large oak trees (one with a very long swing) was wonderful. An oak tree out the kitchen side door might be about 18 feet around at the narrowest part of the trunk. The historical house was charmingly decorated and had a wonderful kitchen that was well stocked. We enjoyed fresh seafood, produce, and baked goods from town. The outbuildings were relocated to across the driveway from the boxwoods and provided an atmosphere of the historical period when the kitchens, workshops, and utility buildings were not in the main house. The largest one now includes ping pong, other games, and another tv. One was the original tiny school house. Pop Castle was like having our own private resort to celebrate being together with our family. We enjoyed the stay very much and would like to visit again.

This is our second time at this house. We love this place an we'll be back.

It's immediately apparent that Pop Castle is a joyous place. The decor is both sophisticated and whimsical, an eclectic collection of art and found treasures from around the world tastefully displayed both interesting and fun, what more could you ask for? The home is fully equipped, everything in its place, functional and functioning. The grounds are expansive and gorgeous with multiple and diverse sitting and lounging areas. Two of our favorite spots were the fire pit at sunset and the longest traditional rope swing hanging from a mammoth red oak on the back lawn that slopes to the river. I could go on and on, but simply put... we loved it and hope to return.

We got married at Pop Castle this weekend. The house was absolutely perfect for entertaining and the grounds are just gorgeous. The house is fully stocked with any kitchen item you could imagine. The rooms are spacious are gorgeous. The owner and his wife are absolutely wonderful and we can not wait to return.
