From the day we booked the unit, all through our trip, Verda was in communication with us and gave us lots of great information about the area, things to do, etc. The property is beautiful and the staff on site are all very nice and accommodating. The property is about a 10 minute drive into Coco where you can find grocery stores, restaurants and all other conveniences. The unit is as beautiful in person as you see in the pictures. We saw a humpback whale with her baby almost every day not far off the beach. You can hear howler monkeys in the mornings and evenings right on the property. We made great memories and can't wait for our next trip.

The home was amazing!! The listing was exactly as stated and much more… the owners were super helpful and informative. They provided great detail and care in our experience from arrival instructions to our departure. The home was beautifully decorated, in a great location on the resort and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This is a wonderful property with great owners! You really can’t beat the views from this property either and the interior is like brand new. There is a good restaurant right next door and the community pool is also right next door. The landscaping gives you the privacy from them but you still have the convenience! Everyone we encountered was nice and helpful!

Beautiful house and setting. Great view. Tons of stuff to do or just relax on beach or at the pool. House had everything you needed to do a little cooking at home if you wanted. Everything was clean and fresh.

This villa had everything that was advertised. The villa itself was absolutely gorgeous! The owners have renovated their home with bright new features including new furniture inside and out, lots of lighting throughout, and a beautiful kitchen. The villa is located in a quiet, secure community with ocean front views, and very close to one of the two community pools. The restaurant on-site has some of the best food that we had throughout the country. The presentation of the food and drink was amazing. The restaurant workers and office staff were some of the nicest people we have ever met. Everyone was so kind & pleasant, eager to please their guests. The were lucky to meet the owners. Neil & Verda are so nice & welcoming. They add special touches to make you feel welcome in their home. Prior to our vacation, Verda sent emails with information about car rentals/transportation, site seeing recommendations, and favorite restaurants nearby. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Read the reviews and book with confidence. We absolutely loved our stay at the Flying H Villa. This was our family’s first trip to Costa Rica and we’ll definitely be back and will stay here again. We loved the town, the people, the property management staff, location, wildlife and everything this place had to offer. Verda couldn’t have been more wonderful. She really helped make our vacation amazing! I’ve been booking places from VRBO for probably 15 years or more and this was one of the best experiences! We can’t wait to go back!!!

I cannot fully express into words how wonderful of a vacation me and my family had at the Flying H Villa! The villa is gorgeous and provides everything needed to ease right into vacation mode. Verda and Neil are wonderful hosts, very communicative and share so many helpful details. The staff at Bahia Pez Vela office and Maracuya restaurant were so professional, welcoming and simply wonderful. The food and drinks at the pool/restaurant are superb! We also tried many of the recommended nearby restaurants and all were very good - Santorini, Coconutz, Father Roosters, and suggest adding the new Numu Tap House (in Pacifico Village) to the list. We stocked up on fruits and breakfast items from the Auto Mercado. The rental car recommendation was perfect and so easy as they brought the car right to us at the airport. My family very much enjoyed the beautiful black sand beach and all of the beautiful natural surroundings. A highlight was hearing and seeing the howler monkeys in the trees right by the villa. I can go on and on! I also see my myself making several return trips to Flying H Villa! Thank you! Pura Vida!!!!!!!

The Flying H Villa was the perfect location for our anniversary vacation. Located right on the beach, the villa has beautiful views and access to the private beach at Bahia Pez Vela. It is also just steps away from restaurant and pools without sacrificing any privacy because of landscaping and design. We enjoyed several couples massages right on the back porch with with beach breezes and cool shade. The villa itself has lovely renovated kitchen and bathrooms. The furnishings are comfortable and as mentioned previously, the back porch is awesome. The Flying H Villa would also be great for a large family or three couples since it has three bedrooms and two and a half baths. We hope to return soon with the family!

We had an amazing time in Costa Rica, and I have to say it was all because of the wonderfully detailed guidance from Verda!!! From the restaurant list, to the excursion recommendations, and directions to everything - we couldn't have asked for better suggestions!! And the accommodations were so much better than expected! The condo is in a prime location - steps to the pool and beach - sunsets every night! It is beautifully decorated, so well-stocked, and ocean views from 2 of the bedrooms!! I highly recommend renting a car - there is so much to visit and see within an hour or two of the condo. We had the best time exploring! Thank you again Verda for everything!! Safe, scenic, beautiful property with close proximity to all Guanacaste has to offer. Enjoyed beautiful sunsets on the property, the lovely common pool, and restaurant at Bahia Pez Vela.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were in awe of this property. Leading up to our arrival communication with the owner was superb. The staff at Bahia Pez Vela make your check in a breeze. They make you feel welcome. The home is immaculate inside and out. The kitchen is very well equipped. We had everything we could want for preparation of meals. The living room is well appointed with comfortable furniture and our family of four had ample seating indoors and out. The gas grill was nice to have for grilled meats and seafoods. The bedrooms were all very inviting with their comfortable mattresses. The bathrooms were clean and modern. The covered car port right outside your front door adds convenience and peace of mind, plus protection from the elements. The grounds surrounding the home are luxurious. I always felt safe on the property. The swimming pool next to your villa is just steps away and offers an amazing view of the ocean while you swim in the clean, comfortable water. Service at the beach club is exceptional. All of the staff were so friendly and personal. The food offerings were some of the best we had while in Costa Rica. The black sand beach was incredible. The sand is so soft and pleasurable to walk on barefoot. The views from the beach at sunrise and sunset will always have a special place in my memory. The wildlife was abundant. From the howler monkeys in the surrounding treetops to the lorikeets and hummingbirds that would entertain us in the trees and flower bushes right off the patio. We were even lucky enough to witness a sea turtle lay her eggs right on the beach under the light of the moon one night. We kept our distance so as not to disturb her, it was a wonder of nature to witness the event .We will definitely book again for our next trip to Costa Rica.

The location of this house couldn't be better. We LOVED everything about the location, and the house is very comfortable. The owners are SUPER responsive to any issues, and they even had a Christmas Tree and stockings with our names on them in the house b/c we were here for Christmas!!! They are the best. I highly recommend this location, and the owners, and we will be back for sure:)

This is our second time at Neil & Verda’s beautiful home. We love the location and view. The pool is wonderful and restaurant is fantastic. Very peaceful and relaxing!!!

We had the best time. Location is unbeatable right off the beach. Relaxed at the beach and on patio. Snorkeled off the beach. Kayaked to near by beaches. Villa was wonderful with the best kitchen island in CR. Resort staff was wonderful and answered all questions and booked all our excursions and food was great. Best VRBO experience yet.

After a rough start in Costa Rica, where the previous VRBO location my wife and I had booked and paid for months earlier to celebrate our 28th anniversary, left us homeless on arrival, we were ultimately left on our own to find a new location to stay. We found Neil and Verda’s villa “The Flying H” located in the beautiful Bahia Pez Vela, and reached our to the owners to see if we could book their home. Thankfully, Neil and Verda responded within minutes and made the arrangements for us to stay in their beautiful beachfront Villa. I can’t express how helpful these two were in getting our vacation back on track! The home is beautifully decorated down to the last detail. The l.e.d. lit kitchen island was an amazing touch. The kitchen was stocked with every kitchen item necessary to prepare our own meals at home, after we went to the local grocery store and fruit stands nearby. We loved watching and listening to the ocean right off the back of the home. We spent a great deal of time on the back patio, where we were entertained by a variety of birds, howler monkeys, iguanas, and a very friendly mapache “raccoon “. The Macuya restaurant next door was another spot that we were able to sit and relax with a cold drink and tasty food. The staff was friendly and helpful , and the chef even came out to give me his recipe for their salsa picante (not on the menu). The entire Bahi Pez Vela location and the Flying H Villa were safe, beautiful and relaxing. I would highly recommend this spot as a great choice to stay.

This house is the best location on the property. I called and spoke to the owner for an hour before renting. She’s from the US and was very helpful. The office was great about booking excursions and Covid tests and last minute activities for us. On the property we saw white squirrels, raccoons, and birds. We snorkeled in the water out the back door and saw eagle rays and all kinds of fish. The owner provided boogie boards and floaties. You can walk out to playa ocotal, just one beach over when the ride is low. We are at Father Roosters right on the beach at playa ocotal. The location of the property was great for what we wanted to do. We drove to rincon de la vieja, did horseback riding on playa conchal, did a half day fishing trip and they picked us up from our beach. We drove into the town of Coco daily for groceries or restaurants. We had a great trip. Hope to return soon!

Villa #1 in Bahia Pez Vela is a beautiful condo right on the beach. It is decorated to perfection and has all the amenities you need for your Costa Rican vacation. Verda is an excellent host with up to date information about Costa Rica and timely responses. You can snorkel right off the beach (spotted rays, octopus, starfish, sea turtle and a multitude of fish). Howler monkeys frequent the trees around the property. A friendly raccoon loved to stop by almost daily. I wouldn’t change a thing and would love to stay here again!

Our family loved our stay in our beachfront villa. The villa is steps away from a private black sand beach. The black sand beach had softer sand than black sand beaches in Hawaii and Saint Lucia!! We loved sitting on our patio each morning and watching the amazing wildlife- from howler monkeys, to beautiful and colorful birds!! The villa was beautifully maintained and the owners were so easy to work with. The owners gave many helpful tips on places to visit and fun excursions. The property managers, Cesar and Jackie, were incredibly helpful. We loved that the villa was steps from the beach and loved hearing the ocean from our villa. We had the lead chef, Rodrigo, cook the most delicious breakfast for us two mornings in our villa. We loved everything about our stay and can't wait to return!!

I am not a travel trailblazer so when I found this property on a recommendation from a local friend I was very excited to speak with Verda about her Villa. The Villa is absolutely gorgeous! Verda and Neil left us a very thoughtful welcome bag with some items to get us started. It was a great start to our trip as I love the little details! It's in a gated, safe resort community and it's oceanfront! Maracuya Beach Club is right next door and the pools are fantastic and clean and the food is some of the best we found. The entire staff works so hard every day to keep the area clean and tidy. We had howler monkeys right in front of our patio in the tree - it was amazing! I was lucky enough to celebrate my birthday in CR and Verda and Neil sent me a cake and a bottle of wine! I felt like the luckiest woman! We loved our stay and we can't wait to go back! This Villa is perfect for couples and families! There are 3 bedrooms: 2 kings and 1 room with twin beds. Book it - you will have the best time!!

Communication with Verda and Neil before our stay was wonderful - very thorough and helpful, we felt very well informed. They connected us with suggested excursions and a rental car. We loved the villa and had a great vacation with our family in Costa Rica! The villa has been recently updated and is very tastefully decorated. Villa right on the beach with a nice swimming pool next to the villa. Great weather, lots of fun. We did find driving in Costa Rica more challenging than expected (use Waze not Google Maps!). All the locals we met were very friendly and accommodating. Local restaurants were delicious. Our favorite excursion was a snorkeling/fishing boat trip that picked us up on the beach in front of the villa in the morning. Thank you Verda and Neil for loaning us your home, our trip was just what we needed to bond with our adult children.

We broke our unwritten rule of never vacationing in the same place twice - that’s how much we loved staying at this property! And we weren’t disappointed. Weather was perfect, villa was comfortable, location was ideal, and Neal and Verda were as attentive as ever. The staff at Bahia Pez Vela are courteous and accommodating. The restaurant food was much improved this year too! My highest recommendation both for visiting Costa Rica and for staying in Neal and Verda’s villa!

This was the most wonderful way to spend Thanksgiving. Verda and Neil are just so welcoming and their home was amazing. Super clean and the two king size bedrooms with ocean view were perfect for us. The on-site restaurant had spectacular food and the staff was so accommodating and friendly. Caesar was so helpful. We had a private chef to serve us a fabulous breakfast with ocean views. We also had Chef Maykel prepare us a wonderful dinner. This was a great relaxing vacation for all of us. Thank you for sharing your beautiful Villa. We will be back.

We celebrated our 20th anniversary here and it was unforgettable in the best possible way. I am almost a year late with this review, but better late than never! There were three of us ( we brought our teen son), and we had so much room to spare. We loved the little community. The chef prepared some Maui Maui for us that we had caught, and it was fabulous. The beach was perfect. The sailing trip planned by the concierge on site was simply breathtaking. We snorkeled in the crystal blue waters and enjoyed every moment. We did experience some red tide but that’s out of anyone’s control and we found other activities. This location was perfect, the villa was very, very clean, had everything we needed, and was just perfect. There is a grocer close by and restaurants close by, as well, though we enjoyed the restaurant on property the most. We would stay here again and we highly recommend! Oh, and GET the massage in your villa - it was perfect. Our teenage son loved it, too.

This was a dream vacation. The villa was beautifully decorated and the layout was very comfortable for our group of 5. The owners were great about communicating details for our stay and the villa amenities as well as recommendations for our trip. The location could not have been better. Walking out the back door to a view of the black sand beach and crashing waves, plus a 20 step walk to the main pool and Maracuya beach club. Bahia per vela is very private. We were often the only people on the beach or in the pool/ocean. A short drive into playas del coco brings you to shops, restaurants and a busier beach area. We drove to all of the local attractions, had wonderful local Costa Rican meals and became regulars with the local staff at Maracuya. We would definitely come back again for another visit and would recommend this property highly!

The house was absolutely gorgeous and upscale, with blue decor matching water color, with everything you need to cook a meal and comfortable beds to sleep with the sounds of waves. The setting cannot be better - right on the beach with beautiful calm and clean water, great for swimming and snorkeling. The manager on property was very helpful organizing trips to the rainforest, the tropical river and many more. A week wasn’t enough to see it all - just to get a taste of this beautiful country with warm hearted people. Verda was special - her attention to details and prompt response to my abundant emails was exceptional. The house was spacious (and sparkling clean!) for a family of 5.
