This cottage was perfect for relaxing with our family & dog after exploring Harbor Country! Quiet location yet close to restaurants & shopping by foot, & a short drive to New Buffalo, wineries & beach. Would definitely stay again!

Kelly was wonderful updating me on the weather before we came into town. The home was cozy with lots of space for a family of 5. Our 3 kiddos loved the loft room and we enjoyed taking walks and playing board games. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

It was perfect. Loved the renovations and the rustic aspects of the house they were able to keep. Plenty of space, had everything we needed. Nice huge side yard with tons of privacy.

This house is tucked into the most charming neighborhood. Every morning and evening I walked my dog and admired the homes and their classic gardens. The children loved the loft bedroom with the ladder and the yard was perfect for running around. Really enjoyed having the whole family around the big farm table for meals we prepared on the AGA stove. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. I usually bring extra things along like sheets and towels, but this house was fully stocked. Even with 10 people in the house, everyone was able to find their own favorite little spot. The adults spent most of the time in the little window room off of the kitchen, drinking our coffee and watching the rabbits and birds. The host left us a welcome basket with everything about Three Oaks village and the local wineries, such a nice touch. We spent one afternoon in the village, we enjoyed pizza from Patellis, whiskey from Journeyman, fresh bologna from the butcher shop, and the kids enjoyed the antique stores. We came for the dunes and beach, but Three Oaks and Mod Cottage gave us a home away from home.

My family had a great stay at the Mod Cottage in Three Oaks, Michigan. The cottage was clean, well-decorated, and located on a quiet street. It’s in walking distance to downtown Three Oaks and a short drive to wineries, New Buffalo, and Warren State Park. We highly recommend for those looking to bike, golf, and shop.

Pet friendly, brought the entire family - three boys under 10. Just as described. Kelly was easy to work with and very communicative. Huge yard , plenty of place to relax. Cozy and spacious at the same time. Would recommend.

This place was great. The inside of the home was decorated beautifully, it was close to an adorable town and close to so many attractions. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a pleasant stay. A bottle of wine and a note wishing us a Happy New Year was a nice touch. Kitchen was fully equipped. Some dishes however, we’re not very clean. And, just like other reviewer/s noted, we were not fans of separate hot and cold water faucets in the downstairs bathroom. We ended up forgetting a bag in the fridge full of unopened bottles of alcohol and food. Even though it was our fault, it would have been nice if somebody had contacted us to acknowledge left items behind, that did not happen.

The house was perfect for our family. We attended a wedding at the Journeymen Distillery which was only about a half mile from the home. It was clean, plenty of linen, pillows and space. Kelly was a quick responder to any questions throughout the process.

My parents, my spouse and our two kids spent Thanksgiving weekend at the house. The kitchen and dining room worked out very well in preparing and enjoying our meal. The house was very comfortable and the bed rooms were great. My parents used the first floor master, our kids used the loft, our dog used the small guest bedroom upstairs 😀, and my wife and I used the larger upstairs bedroom. The house was very comfortable and cozy in the right ways. It was very easy to communicate with the host and the cute little town of Three Oaks is in easy walking distance of the house. Definitely recommend this place.

My family and I rented the house for a wedding we where attending Amin Three oats. The how was very cute and clean. The kids loved the loft with their bed!! We will definitely stay again.

My husband and I stayed in this home for a beautiful fall weekend. Very comfortable stay in a great location near the town of Three Oaks. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely time staying in Three Oaks. The house was very cozy and just what we needed to relax.

First of all, the host was great. She would get back to me immediately whenever I contacted her. The property, however, was not what I would have expected. I've never stayed at a VRBO so maybe my expectations were higher than they should have been. There was no soap in the house so we had to go out and buy some. The sink in the primary bedroom and two faucets, one for hot and one for cold so there was no way to get warm water! The bed was like a rock and very uncomfortable. The sheet on the bed has a stain. All in all, it was okay, but I would not stay there again.

Beautiful house and large yard for family fun. The house was immaculate and very comfortable for our family spanning ages 80- 3 year old. Able to grill outside and enjoy large yard. Quick walk to downtown Three Oaks for ice cream and shopping. Pretty drive using the backroads to beaches. Enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and being away from it all. Highly recommend! The owner was responsive and gracious to all of our questions and needs.

Our entire group was very impressed with this property. Plenty of room for all of us to spread out comfortably. Our younger kids loved the cozy loft and trundle bed! No problems at all. Check in was easy, communication with the owner was clear and concise. Would rent this again if we ever find ourselves back in the area! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Kelley, property manager and owner, was responsive to all questions and did a lot of leg work when she learned that a big storm had knocked out power to all surrounding areas including the cottage. She was in constant communication to ensure that lights were on and the the home was comfortable when we arrived. We were in town for 4 days to celebrate my cousins wedding at The Journeyman Distillery. The home was complete and comfortable. Thank you.

The "Mod Cottage" has lots of charm! Friendly and cozy inside. Nice mix of maintaining the origins of the house and creating a modern setting for a family to call headquarters while in the area for a big family gathering/Celebration of Life. The nearby village of Three Oaks is charming, with some great cafes, vintage and upscale shops. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much. The main "less than optimal" aspect was a serious lack of lighting! Kitchen, living room and bedrooms were not adequately outfitted with lighting. We had to borrow lamps from family members so that we could read at night! The lighting in the kitchen was minimal, dull and not conducive to fun with cooking. There were only 4 dinner knives for "place setting for 10 guests"..... And one frying pan, which was wobbly and not nearly big enough to cook anything for the 7 of us. The owner was prompt in returning calls when we had issues with operating the wonderful stove/oven and the DVD player (which didn't work). So it was a mixed bag. But...fix the things that we found inadequte and we would happily return for another stay!

Froelich’s and Journeyman’s distillery were favorites. Only 10 minutes to New Buffalo beaches and shops and 25 mins to wineries. Great location. Very roomy. Excellent hosts. Close to downtown three oaks. Loft was extra fun for the kiddos. Probably for the future could have used a few extra towels/washcloths/hand towels based on number of folks staying and length of time we were there. Very well stocked kitchen. Enjoyed the book of house renovations to see how far the house had come. Owners did a great job with renovation. Ceiling of loft and outside could both use repainting but thats purely cosmetic. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

We had a lovely time in this beautifully restored and comfortably decorated cottage. Nice large yard. Walkable neighborhood and such a close walk to the shops and restaurants in Three Oaks. A very easy and short drive to the beach in New Buffalo and not a far drive to Warren Dunes beach, among others. On our first night there, unfortunately the power was going on and off for several hours and, though it was out of her control, Kelly was very responsive to my texts regarding the issue and made some great suggestions for getting out and exploring while we waited for the power to come back and stay on.

The only thing that would've made our stay perfect would be smart TVs. At the end of the day we would've liked to be able to log into Netflix or a similar streaming service to zone out to before bed. But even without that option we loved our stay immensely.

My friends and I absolutely love staying in this home! It's a 4-minute drive from Journeyman's Distillery and it's very spacious and clean. The design is so beautiful. I would definitely stay here again!

My family and I were looking for a place to stay for a few weeks around the New Buffalo/Three Oaks area to get away from Chicago. The property provided a large yard for our kids to play, a cottage with enough living space that we weren't on top of each other, and an extremely responsive owner. We could ask for much more.
