This house is absolutely breath taking. The photos do not serve justice to the layout of the home and the amazing view of every. You can tell the owners once lived there because of the attention to detail, commodities and decor throughout. A major plus to the house was Marina and Juan, together they severed the home and made it feel safe. Marina lives up the hill and was ready to help in anything needed. She would open the gate for us, when we stepped out, helped us unload if needed, cleaned the entire house daily and even offered to cook. I notice no one mentioned jet-skies service are available. Marina just has to call the company and they come right to the pier of the lake (this was so much fun and so convenient, not free but not expensive) same company offered us a boat tour around the lake. Come to find out the presidential vacation home is a few houses down along with many other important figures (that should tell you the standard of the house and it’s location) Each room has its own full bathroom with hot water, towels, extra linens, AC units and very spacious. The beds were extremely comfortable and comes with many pillows!! The pool is heated and cleaned every morning by Juan and lights up at night. They are very strict that only 14people sleep in house, but its a understandable rule. More than that, would change the experience of your stay. Getting to the home is a-bit tricky but Marina contact information was provided, we gave her a call and she walked us through the process. It was just such a pleasant stay that I keep going. Overall, this was the best vacation home my family and I have stayed. Definitely recommend!

Words cannot describe what a wonderful experience my family and I had at Vistalago. There is so much attention to detail on the property, our vacation could have not been any better. Service was impeccable. Marina knows how to treat her guests with the utmost attention. A true paradise. We look forward to returning again soon.

This place is amazing. The scenery is speechless! Unfortunately the property manager decided to charge an extra $200 because his employees told him there were more people than the reservation stated. Never provided any proof even though I asked, he said his employees are his ears and eyes. At this point he finds random excuses for charging unnecessary unexplained “deposit” fee. Will be reporting him to VRBO

Beautiful family home. Marina (care taker) is extremely attentive and became part of the family quickly. It’s unfortunate the sin of the owner, who manages the stays is a jerk. I would have Highly recommend this house for a large groups , but because of the host, I will not. .

The property was excellent, we stayed there with a group of friends from many different countries as we were there for a wedding at Cardedeu and everything was great, the house condition, amenities and cleanliness are perfect and they have staff at the house to help you with anything you need, Marina, Patty and Mauricio really made our stay much better. The dock is algo amazing for spending a good time at the lake, definitely recommended and would love to come back sometime.

We were impressed with the property and the house helpers. Everything was up to the most demanding standards. The house was cleaned, well maintained and beautiful. The décor is with an excellent taste and very comfortable. The helpers in the house were discreet, willing to help and to even guess, what my needs were. Excellent communication with owner and a great flexibility that is truly appreciated. Definitely, a place to visit more than once. Looking forward our next stay there. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy such a beautiful place.

Vistalago is a charming house on a breathtaking lake, the house was very spacious and had incredible views, as a photographer it was heaven on earth every photo I took came out perfect. One night was not enough to take in all the beauty this property has to offer all the rooms were very clean and the beds were super comfortable, the master bedroom is very spacious with a big bathroom. The property has a-lot of green vegetation that makes it look even more gorgeous. Also Ricardo the owner is a real gentleman he replied to all my questions in a kind and prompt way, when we met for the payment of the rental everything went smooth and in a friendly manner. he also included the directions of the house in a very detailed way it was super easy to get there, he was an excellent host and a very sweet person. I would highly recommend this property to any person wanting to have a peaceful and relaxing stay in one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. I hope to come back very soon.

As ever, the entire stay at Vistalago was fantastic. Ricardo was super helpful throughout the process and the property is one of the nicest you can stay at in El Salvador. It was lovely to see that the dock had been repaired and there were new hammocks since my last stay and everything is catered for. The kitchen is a good size and has everything you could possibly need, the inside areas are expansive and comfortable, the bedrooms very comfy and air conditioned, a heated pool and the best view out over the lake. Thoroughly recommended.

This is an update to an earlier positive review that I posted at the owner's request. This was our second time staying at the property and was likely our last. There is nothing wrong with house itself, which is beautiful, spacious and well-appointed. Most of my interactions with the owner were really positive and I find it disappointing that things soured so suddenly because we would have liked to return. A couple items were broken by small children in our group, which the owner informed me he would be charging us for. I apologized and accepted all charges without question. Later, after my earlier post, the owner sent me a strongly-worded message when he found out that someone in our group had allowed their dog to eat out of a couple of the bowls in the house. He said he would be throwing them away and withholding another amount from our deposit. Even this, I would have taken in stride without question because he was nice enough to make an exception for us to bring the dog in the first place and in the end, it is his right to assess damages as he sees fit. However, he did not simply inform me that he would be charging me, he also told me that I have "incredibly bad taste," which I find somewhat insulting because I think I have pretty okay taste. Basically, the owner personally insulted me for something that happened without my knowledge. I fully acknowledged that I am responsible for everything that happens while I am renting the property, whether it is my doing or not, but the owner made this unnecessarily personal in a very unprofessional way. Perhaps it is a difference in cultural norms, but no one that I spoke to subsequently thought it was a big deal for a dog to eat out of a bowl that could then later be washed. I would be worried to stay here again not knowing what else might provoke a rude response from the owner.

Beautiful place on earth if you really want to relax and have an awesome time with family and friends. Comfy bedrooms, different areas in the house where you can find your own spot to relax. And also great help from Marina ! There is nothing to worry about but to enjoy the beautiful view.

Stayed at Vistalago for the weekend. Rented a jetski for the day on Saturday, grilled on the bar-b-q. Stayed with 3 other familys and there was plenty of room for all with out being on top of each other. We had kids with us from the age of 3 to 15 and they all had fun. Whole house was clean, bedrooms and bathrooms we lovely and the lady that helped us was wonderful. Always love to stay at the lake, is the most relaxing place in El Salvador. Would stay again.

Great experience at a huge property. After arriving, we joked it was more like renting a resort than a house. We were a group of 13 people and had a couple empty beds even with everyone having their own place. The living area was amazingly spacious, with a gorgeous balcony overlooking the lake. Everything you need is there! Private dock, nice grassy yard, heated swimming pool for when the lake gets a bit chilly. Beds were super comfortable, comfortable rooms at a comfortable temperature. Great stay. Hope to return again!
