This house is large with plenty of beds. Love that it comes with sheets and towels for all beds. Lots of living space in kitchen - living area. Minus one star this trip as we had a terrible problem with flys this year. The outside trash bins had maggots when we arrived and stunk to high heavens, I'm sure due to previous occupant throwing away food on their last day and trash pick up was not until Monday, 2 days away. We stayed 1st week of Sept and the house definitely needs a through cleaning, that said I would still rent this house again.

You can't beat the short walk to the ocean, the decks overlooking the ocean were put to good use, very relaxing in the hot tub, The house was clean the open second floor was great for hanging with family and then being able to go to your own room for quiet time was nice with so many bathrooms no one had to wait ;) I would definitely rent again!

Everything was great about this home great location, great space, was able to have our own space for a little downtime. The only downfall was there was alot of stairs, so definitely not for anyone not able to walk the stairs mother in law of 75yrs old had some difficulty and the beds especially the ground level definitely need replaced or some kind of topper put on them as well as the upstairs rooms I have vascular disease so my legs were definitely in bad condition by fourth day in extremely swollen and in pain from blood vessels bursting from not being elevated properly. But all in all great location and lil ones had a good time would stay here again but would definitely take some of my comforts from home!

It was a great house with lots of added bonuses(crock pot, hand towels, beach toys, etc) I would recommend this house. Only downside was the beds on the first floor off of the Cameroon were not very comfortable.

This house was big enough for my family of 7 and more. Also there was plenty of bathrooms, which I loved! I would love to stay at the property again!

The property needs to be totally renovated. Mattresses need to be burned.

The location of this house, with the proximity to the beach, the pier, and nags head was wonderful. Unfortunately, that's where the pleasantry ended. We arrived on Saturday only to find that the air conditioner was broken. We reached out to maintenance via email and phone multiple times and did not hear anything until Sunday. Maintenance did tell us that the AC unit was waiting on parts and they did come onsite on Sunday to temporarily put a window AC unit in the bedrooms. The AC tech came out on Tuesday to fix the unit. We also called Maintenance to report that the refrigerator was leaking water, this was never completely fixed and the carpet around the refrigerator was wet all week and was unable to make ice. We also had to call maintenance on 3 different days to come out to fix 3 different toilets in this unit, a few multiple times. We also noted that plaster is falling off of the ceiling, the beds are uncomfortable, the upstairs shower curtain is simply sitting on the tile (not attached to anything), bathroom floor in the basement is uneven (literally feels like it is sinking) and there is a hole in the wall on the stairs. 4 of the smoke and CO2 detectors stopped working during the week. The walkway out to the beach was missing nails, causing a few cut toes and splinters, and rusted nails are exposed as well. I would NOT recommend this property to anyone until the owner puts some TLC into the unit.

Nothing fancy, just clean and comfortable. Queen sheets must have been irregulars, because none of them fit the beds securely.

Everything was great except we paid for a 1:00 check in but the cleaning service was just starting to clean when we arrived a little after 1:00. Besides that bump in the road, the stay was wonderful.

We were very disappointed in this house. Although the website described it as older & rustic, the house & furnishings were very outdated. The house did not appear very clean or sanitized. When we arrived, there was a terrible smell & it was coming from the infant high chair. Thank goodness one of our daughters & her family could not come so none of us had to stay on the 1st floor which we nicknamed the dungeon. The outdoor shower was not useable & there was trash & kids toys on the ground on Oceanside. The area between parking area & house was overgrown & needed mowing. We reported to maintenance & someone did come same day, but did not correct either situation. We saw & killed several roaches in the house. The upstairs deck even though recently replaced did not have dog gate reinstalled as described on website. We will not rent this house again.

Location is excellent but the condition of the property and furnishings were disappointing. We knew it was an older rental but thought it would be much cleaner. The kitchen was stocked very well I was surprised at the amount of culinary utensils available. This house has excellent bones but needs a lot of refurbishing. All in all we did enjoy our stay!

2nd time we have stayed at this house. It is not fancy or decadent like some houses but it is homey and comfortable and it worked great with the dog. We even met the owners who said they are going to redo the kitchen which would be good as it is pretty small. We had a great time with no issues at all.

This house was an enjoyable big family beach house for us - 8 adults, 8 children. It is an older facility- mirror image duplexes converted to become one larger home - and it’s showing it’s age, but we didn’t mind- except for the sliding doors upstairs which no longer seal and wind whistles through them - we had to wedge towels in cracks to be able to sleep. We let property mgmt know about spongey spots in the basement floor under the carpet and kitchen cabinet paint peeling which they say will be addressed in the off-season. Numerous loose and broken deck pickets were promptly repaired, which we appreciated it has lots of dinnerware and silverware which we were grateful for, and ample seating and tables for eating, games and puzzles, including two picnic tables on the covered deck. Boogie boards and sand toys were enjoyed and the full size spare fridge just inside the entrance door, was very helpful to hold large amounts of food for a big clan. We enjoyed the Aquarium, Scammell’s Ice Cream, Whalebone Park, Fort Raleigh, and hunkering down at the house during high wind days and teaching all the kids to play chess!

This was a great oceanfront property for the price! We had some trouble with the upstairs fridge but the staff was pleasantly responsive. Unfortunately we were 3 days without the kitchen fridge, but fortunately we had an extra one on the first floor. Overall great place and would stay again.

It is dated, could use some TLC but more than that it needs a deep cleaning. I spent the first 2 days cleaning. Not the way to start a vacation, much less your 60th birthday. That being said, the house is a typical old beach house, fairly well equipped (bring a corkscrew). You can see where they are upgrading items and working on it. It just needs to be cleaned. Would stay again if early arrival was included, just to clean. Putting yes I would recommend, but with a caveat, ask for free early arrival to clean.

The house needed a deep cleaning. Yes the toilets were clean but the floorboards and light fixtures were filthy. There are nails sticking up on the decks that several of us stepped on during the week. The fridge was leaking inside it and pooling in the bottom. A downstairs sink was also leaking badly underneath. The house needs painted all over in the inside as well. Grass was crazy on the walkways and yard as well as sand covering almost the whole boardwalk. Lamps didn't have bulbs or just didnt work in a few of the bedrooms as well. All three sliders are rusted and falling apart and very difficult to open because of that.

It was very nice to sit in the hot tub and listen to the music at night while watching the waves. the house itself could use some TLC... all of the sliding doors going to the patios were very hard to open/close...maybe some WD40.. One of the handles on a sliding glass door was loose. The bedroom furniture was a bit old, the drawers would fall out at times.. The walk from the house to the beach was a bit overgrown with plants and weeds. The game room downstairs with the game table was VERY nice! Shortly after we arrived, we noticed one of the AC units wasn't working. Someone came to repair this within a few hours of reporting it, no issues after that. I noticed a few reviews that mentioned bugs in the house, we saw none. Overall, it was very nice and relaxing.
