the down stairs bedroom bed is like sleeping on concrete but the rest of the beds are fine and this home has a wonderful view

More beautiful in person than the pictures. That never happens. We are all mostly short people and so we were disappointed that we couldn’t find a step stool to get into the top cabinets. The house is in a great location with a nice bit of privacy.

We enjoyed our stay the beds were not very comfortable but we had a great time.

This property had everything we could ask for! Private beach access, incredible views of the ocean, plenty of space and games in the garage! We had a great long weekend here with guests ranging in age from 2-70. Everyone was happy!

Great place to stay if you want ocean views all day long! We got to see a storm blow through and it was amazing watching the waves come up as far as the deck! A few things I would mention, there are no spices (I assume this is a COVID precaution), no coffee filters, and in the pictures you see two couches downstairs when there is only one. Overall, I would stay over and over!

Beautiful house and location. We had a wonderful time. The towels/linens confused us at first, then we realized the laundry bags had all the clean ones. We would love to come back!

We love the house and the location, just what we were expecting, the house has a beautiful view and my kids enjoyed the play room. The house was nice but it was a little dusty and it has a non pleasant smell, the bathrooms were a little moldy, and floors not too cleaned, other than that was a nice house.

Great beach house on a private drive with private beach access. The deck leads right out to the sand, with an expansive beach area to play on. The house itself is well equipped with almost everything you would need during your stay. The game room was a big hit with all the kids, who loved being able to play a variety of table games at their leisure. The decor is modern and light, and the beds were very comfortable. The house located between Yachts and Waldport, both of which offer stores and restaurants for any needs that arise.

All was good, location & view awesome! Check in a little disorganized, and could not get an hour later check out.

We booked with Sweethomes through VRBO. The initial Seal Rock property #1542594 was sold and became unavailable to us. The property manager as an alternative offered us Sand Castle at Yachats. The beach house itself was not great, but was very good. The home is clearly going through some updating, but is not yet all the way there. However we needed a dog friendly house and Sand Castle was, making it perfect for us. The location is all you could ask for. The home is located on a beautiful sandy beach that stretches in both directions for ever. We had a great time and would totally go back.

Love the location 1. dishwasher wasn’t bolted in. Very dangerous for little ones. 2. kitchen door was broken at the bottom with about 2 inches eaten away. 3. my dogs found a bra under the bed from previous guest. 4. the downstairs bath has been updated nicely although there is no light for the shower 5. not all blinds worked and some window screens were missing 6. no floor molding at kitchen bar. Was a great place to relax with private beach access! The fireplace was UGLY AND OLD. Not one I would want to use.

Master bath leaked all over when showering. RAT turds ll over the games in the garage.. not just a few nice turds , but a lot of RAT TURDS . hot tub didn't work first day or two

We had a wonderful time at this home. The home decor was updated and comfortable. Beds and linens were very comfortable. The game room in the garage was a hit, although since we are in the middle of winter, it was very cold to be in there. We loved the views of the ocean from the table and upstairs sitting couch. Hot tub was hot and we enjoyed it. Everything we needed was there for the kitchen. We really enjoyed our time and are only sorry we wouldn't be able to afford it during the summer months (it is significantly more expensive although I understand why with the ocean at your feet). Something that I wish I would have known so I am mentioning (not sure what it would be like during the summer) is that the tide is almost all the way up during most of the day so we really could only go out and walk the beach from 3pm until dark (around 6pm). That was disappointing as I was really looking forward to my morning walk on the beach but overall, very pleased with the home and we had a great vacation!

The property was once beautiful. But we were disappointed with our stay on many levels and I am positive that this has been pointed out before - pages were ripped out of the guest book. I really have no interest in going into detail of the many failings of this property. The place is way past its prime. For the cost of this place for the week they could do some repairs and updating. I mean, really? My family and I go to a different beach every year and if this is what VBRO considers quality or whatever term you want to use, I won’t be using or recommending your service again. The property’s proximity to the beach was our favorite. The views are amazing from the house especially from the second floor. Our family loved the garage game room. Sadly, it seems the nightly rate was for the location and views. The house was quite filthy upon our arrival and the longer we stayed the more we discovered many items were not in working order including ceiling lights, small kitchen appliances, the BBQ grill, and the dryer. We spent our first evening cleaning the bathrooms and vacuuming the carpets/couches/beds with a vacuum on its last leg and a container of Clorox wipes. Most bigger dishes, like pans, pots, mixing bowls were dirty from previous use. Most places provide basic staple ingredients. This one did not. (We didn’t find the salt/pepper shakers until the last day and that was all that was provided). The 1st floor bathroom has been redone, but some of the improvements are nuisances. The shower door only slides open in a small space by the toilet and on the opposite end of the faucet and shower head. There are double sinks, but a glass shelf was installed a few inches above both sinks so when you try to bend down to spit you risk clanking your head. The towel hooks on the back of the door were completely broken off. Each time we turned on a light in the 1st floor bedroom the turn nob fell off and this we spent too much time searching for a broken light knob cover. The home needs extensive repairs. We love Yachats and we will likely visit again, but we won’t use this property again. It was hard to really relax and enjoy our time because of the condition we found the inside of the house.

This property was perfect for our Christmas 2016. We had 12 people, ages 4 to 77. Where else can you celebrate opening gifts but up on the second floor and overlooking the beautiful Oregon Coast. The home was very clean, well furnished.

This home was vey nice, clean and had lights and TVs set music playing when we arrived, this was welcoming and a nice touch. We were asked to contact property manager prior to arrival and we did this, no problem. She arrived and went over some general details and rules about the home which I initialed on a contract. Some thought the beds very soft with the foam toppers, I found this very comfortable. The beds had a lot of pillows and soft sheets. Lastly we did run out of TP after 2 of our 3 night stay. There were no tissue boxes for backup. The soap in the bathrooms was basically water, watered down soap that wouldn't lather. Otherwise the hot tub was clean and hot and there were plenty of supplies in kitchen and game garage. The trail to the beach was eroded from weather, but we were advised we could use the neighbors access which was great. This home is right on the ocean and the views are beautiful, lots of windows!

Great home for families; certainly the location, private surroundings, and view are spectacular. However, it was billed as Luxury, and after 30 years of renting Oregon beach homes, it's my opinion that it's overpriced by about 1/3. At a lower price, I'd rate it much higher, but there were too may shortfalls and near misses for that price.

We have rented many homes in Yachats (one of our favorite coastal towns), but The Sand Castle is by far the nicest we have stayed at. Not only was the property manager so nice to work with, but we did not have to stay and wash all the linen, towels and clean the entire home. This made the vacation truly a vacation. The garage full of games was also an added treat. The upstairs was like a separate retreat when my daughters family wanted some alone time. The home was costly, but well worth the price. We would like to stay again.

This house is a great place to unwind and enjoy the wonderful ocean view! We saw whales, a bald eagle, rabbits and of course lots of seagulls. The house has very comfortable beds, we slept like babies. The game room was happening on the rainy, stormy days. A perfect beach house. We will definetly be back!!!!!

We truly fell in love with this house! having rented other properties down the beach this house was by far the best! We couldn't find a single thing that we didn't like! We enjoyed watching some surfers the first night and seeing some whales the next. Loved the ocean front hot tub and game room! They also have flat screen HD tv's with extended cable and tons of DVD's! Our family has been coming here every summer for almost 20 years and I'm sure there are many more vacations to come! Now that we've fallen in love with this house we'll be back!

We just returned from 5 days at the Sand Castle in Yachats. It was my husband, another couple and two dogs. This home was so comfortable, had the most amazing views, and the owner was a pleasure to work with, as was the property manager, Wendy. The property is in a very private setting, and directly Ocean front, the best sunsets I have seen since Jamaica! There are two bdr upstairs, that share the bathroom, with one door adjoing the twin bedroom. The bedroom downstairs has the queen bed and bath, and the bath is also accessed from the hallway. It was so roomy and comfortable, the fireplace was a treat on the cool mornings, and the sitting area upstairs has even more breathtaking views than downstairs. There is also a brand new washer/dryer in the spacious laundry room, along with a large utility sink. The Hot tub was a must in my search for a home, and this one was perfect, you could watch the sunset while relaxing after a long day, or try the game room in the garage, brand new ping pong table and paddles, pool table, air hockey, foosball, darts, etc. There are kites to fly on the beach hanging in there as well. Kitchen was well equipped, but bring yoru own foil, baggies, and extra paper towels, otherwise everything was there ready for you. The stairs to the beach are to the left of the house, and currently leaning a little, but that's what happens in the fall/winter with the ocean waves! The owners rebuild them every spring. We had no trouble accessing the beach from the boardwalk in front of the home via the natural steps and rope tied to the deck. We have stayed at 6 homes from Neskowin to Yachats over the last two years, and would rank this one #2. You cannot get more private or amazing ocean front views for the special price the owners are giving right now on this web site. We loved our stay and would not hesitate to come back!
