We stay in many VRBO properties and just loved the uniqueness of a houseboat. The hosts' suggestions of local flare was dead on. Highly recommend.

Jon and Karen were so accommodating, allowing us to check in early. Jon gave us several food recommendations all of which were amazing. The place was clean and perfectly located.

My wife and I were heading to Boston to spend the weekend with our daughter who is attending Emerson and this was a fantastic option instead of staying in the heart of the city. Jon is fantastic! The place was fantastic and so unique! Can't say enough about the weekend, we've been talking about it to everyone - first place I'll check the next time we're heading into Boston for a stay!

My friend and I booked this stay fairly last minute, but from start to finish, Jon and Karen were the perfect hosts :) Karen’s homemade banana bread waiting for us was just an extra bonus. As soon as I arrived, Jon was there to help me carry our luggage and gave us all of the recommendations on what to see in Boston. Downtown is a close ferry ride or public transit stop away, and Jon also gave me lots of good food suggestions (devoured our Modern cannolis as Jon suggested- delicious!). Would definitely stay here again or reccomend to family and friends. Would be perfect for a weekend getaway too- lovely dock chairs for a glass of wine or coffee with a book 😊 overall, it was a perfect introduction to Boston! Thanks, Jon and Karen.

Man!! Where to begin. Beautiful views of the Marina and Skyline. We enjoyed our time spent in Jon’s wonderful houseboat. Jon was more than helpful and knowledgeable about everything in the area. We only stayed one night and it was the most relaxing time. Everything we needed was provided in our room. I’ve never had blueberry muffins so moist. Thank you for a time well spent.

The whole experience at the Green Turtle exceeded all of our expectations. Jon is the perfect host! We were greeted as though we were already friends—we so appreciated that! It was the perfect way for us to celebrate our anniversary!

Our host Jon greeted us at the dock and was so helpful in getting us settled in. He had numerous tips on low cost or free transportation and all the best insider info on places to eat the best food without tourist prices. A perfect getaway place to stay for couples and so peaceful. We will be back!

Jon’s advice was spot on and we did exactly what he recommended. Thanks Jon. I’m a boat person and this is a houseboat, maybe not for everyone, but the experience I was looking for. I loved watching the boats come in and out of the harbor. The location was perfect for what we wanted to do. We road out a tropical storm the first night, which was rocking, but the second night was smooth floating. We had a great time.

Our hosts, Jon and Karen, are such lovely people. Jon provided us with very helpful information on where to go for great food and how to get there. Karen provided us with yummy baked items for our breakfast. We wanted for nothing. Our bed was comfy and the houseboat was very welcoming. My only criticism was that there were huge yachts parked on both sides of the dock which obstructed our views of the water. A big draw to this particular location was being on the water and its views. This was something that Jon and Karen could not help so I cannot fault them for it. Overall, it was unique and winderful experience.

We stayed here the last two nights of our honeymoon and it was our first time in Boston. The accommodations were awesome! The unit was very clean and includes absolutely everything you need. The hosts are very accommodating, enthusiastic and informative providing detailed information on how to most easily navigate the city. They have answers to any question you may have. Its evident they love hosting others and genuinely care about you having the best visit possible. We cannot say enough good things about this place and the hosts.

It’ll be hard to ever beat this vrbo experience staying on the Green Turtle and Jon and Karen’s warm hospitality! We had the most perfect visit to Boston! The boat is in a “gated community” in the harbor—what a unique experience to stay on a boat! Everything was within walking distance (the ferry/shuttle/trolley). Jon gave us an orientation, map and all, of places to eat and other local faves. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful time staying on the water. Jon welcomed us even though our flight was 3 hours delayed due to severe weather in Boston. We were to thankful to arrive and find homemade banana bread, waters and other snacks. The location was perfect for what we wanted to do. Thank you Jon! We really enjoyed our time there!

We enjoyed our stay at the Green Turtle. Jon was helpful in every way from helping with our luggage to suggestions for getting around and places to eat. Staying on the houseboat was a unique experience which we would highly recommend!

Karen&Jon we’re absolutely amazing. Jon is full of information. Helped us find the best pizza, where the water taxis are and the best restaurants. He even assisted us with a returning taxi to the airport. He was available during our stay with a quick text because we forgot one of the restaurants name. Karen made the best banana bread I’ve ever tasted. They think of everything. They also put up an anniversary banner on our door. We’ve talked to a couple of permanent residents at the marina. Even got to tour one of the residents boathouse. Boston people are genuine and lively. This has to be one of my favorite places to visit.

The House Boat was very clean and charming. John was very responsive as we had a lot of questions concerning transportation options. The view was beautiful. However, on our last day a very large yacht docked on the dock in front of the house boat. I thought this was temporary but apparently the yacht rents the space right in front of the house boat. This yacht took up the entire space of the dock and completely blocked our view, all we could see was the boat docked right in our face. It is not mentioned anywhere that a boat could dock and you would not have any view at all. If I knew this ahead of time I would not have booked this house boat. It was very disappointing and the reason I wouldn’t give this property a higher rating.

We enjoyed all the comforts of home right down to the delicious muffins and fridge stocked with choices of juices, etc. Our host Jon was so informative and friendly, it added to the enjoyment of our houseboat experience. Something to check off of your bucket list.

Most everything was great, Jon was very friendly and helpful and the location was great. My only complaint was that our entire view of the boston harbor was blocked by a gigantic yaht for almost all of our stay.

The propert is exactly as described. Great location and very relaxing. If I ever go back to Boston this is where will stay again. Jon is so informative and kind and available for anything you need. Fantastic property!!

This was a great overnight surprise stay for my wife. The boat was clean and cost and had everything you need for a easy stay in Charlestown and walking distance to Boston. Jon was super friendly and the check in/out process was very easy. Would stay again for sure.

We loved celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary as the guests of Jon and Karen at the Green Turtle. They immediately made us feel welcome and gave us all the inside information we needed to spend a wonderful five days in Boston. The location was great. Outside of the hustle and bustle, but just a relatively short walk to historic Boston, which we did a couple of times, or an even quicker Uber. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, and hope to return.

Wonderful location. I've always wanted to sleep on a houseboat. I would definitely do it again. Such a friendly visit, hosts and neighbors. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

It was nice. Check in was very easy. Only down fall was weather but that of course was not there problem.

Property is neat and clean in a good neighborhood. Check-in was well communicated and easy. Beds were comfortable. Property listed as sleeps 5. No bedding for a 5th person although property listed as sleeps 5. Host asks for private feedback rather than providing feedback on VRBO sight. Clearly, this is an advantage to host and disadvantage to potential guests who won’t see all valid feedback. Also, host asks guest to tip cleaner. Seems like host could use the more than adequate cleaning fee to fairly compensate the cleaners for their work.

If you're looking for an out of the box B&B experience, this is it. The hosts were so accommodating and gave great recommendations. My 7-year-old son and I had a great time staying on the boat. It's a short walk to the freedom trail, coffee shop, playgrounds, and a few restaurants. Hope to be back soon!

This was such a fun way to see Boston! The house boat was cute, clean, and had everything you need. It felt very safe and secure. It was located close to the ferry, restaurants, and other forms of transportation. Jon was such an attentive host and gave great recommendations. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Jon and Karen are great hosts, very easy to communicate with and very quick.
Jon spent time to explain how to get to and from the city and the best places to eat, which we did try out, and they were great.
When I first looked at the location I was worried but there was no need as it is easy and quick to get to the attractions.
We loved it as we could get to where we needed quick but when we wanted to get our heads down it was peaceful and quiet.

I booked as a surprise for my boyfriend’s birthday. I had no idea staying on a house boat was on his bucket list! The stay did not disappoint. This was our first visit to Boston and we wanted a unique experience. Staying at the Green Turtle was the best decision! Jon and Karen are wonderful, and Jon’s recommendations for great food, trolley tours, etc., were incredibly helpful. The marina is beautiful and the views from the boat are amazing. The suite has everything you need for a great stay. It is clean, comfortable, and very safe at the marina. Just a wonderful first visit to Boston. Thank you, Jon and Karen!
