Such a beautiful location and property. Jim was very responsive and helpful any time I had a question. Check in and out was perfect . Everything one could want on vacation was available in the condo. And the snacks , wow!! We felt so comfortable and happy, truly did not want to leave. The sunrises and sunsets are stunning. I love Sugar Beach and now I love #131 at SBR too.

The VRBO is amazing! It was extremely clean and well kept! It is so nice to stay at a place that people care about what they own. This location is a walk out with ocean view which was so beautiful to just walk right out the patio door and right to the ocean. The kitchen and amenities is fantastic. All the details of what they have is so nice instead of looking and trying to find all the stuff. Also having a washer and dryer in the VRBO is a huge seller for me! We will be back to this spot again! I highly recommend it.

My wife and I had a most enjoyable though briefed 5 night stay at #131. Jim’s and Carol’s #131 was so well stocked and appointed, was on the 1st floor, was near parking, and was - compared to our time share in Ka’anapali - quiet. And again compared to the highly congested road to and from Ka’anapali, the roads in the Kihei and Wailea areas were much easier to traverse. We were gratified with Jim’s and Carol’s attentiveness in answering our inquiries quickly and graciously. We will definitely plan on returning to #131. So high praises to the McCauleys!

Condo was very nice, clean, and we loved the central location in Kihei. It was right on the water, with the beach access just a few steps away, including a shower to rinse off. Very well appointed, including beach equipment, washer/dryer, everything you could imagine in the kitchen, and plenty of supplies (paper products, ziplock bags, trash bags, etc), including incredible welcome baskets and treats in the refrigerator. Owners were very responsive and kind. We were provided with a full list of everything in the condo so that we knew what we needed to bring or buy. Owners also provided restaurant recommendations for the area. We would definitely stay here again!

Simply the best

Jim and Carol’s place was perfect. It’s right on the water where you can watch the sunset, take walks on the beach and see the whales. They were incredibly attentive and welcoming. They had a lovely note for my husband’s birthday and amazing gift baskets. The only bad thing is we only spent two nights there. It’s a great central location to get all over the island. We would love to come back here!

This condo is beautiful and more well-stocked than any property I've ever stayed at. The water on the beach outside isn't the most blue (I was told due to a recent storm) but the sand was lovely and it was centrally located to be a great launching pad for everything else to do on the island. The hosts were amazing. I hope to stay here again!

This condo is definitely a home away from home! Jim and Carol are the most accommodating, responsive, thoughtful and gracious hosts. They made us feel very welcome as soon as we walked in! Everything that a guest could need is provided…we’ve never experienced such a well-stocked unit. And it is very clean. The beach is just steps away and the view from the lanai is amazing! The location is perfect and convenient to shopping, restaurants and fun! You will not regret staying at this condo and we will definitely be returning!

10 stars! A lovely condo that is so well-equipped, it feels a home away from home. Although close to an important road and with a parking spot just yards from our door, it is soooo quiet! I very much appreciated how meticulously clean it is. And the view from the wall of windows and lanai! Especially at sunset. Wow. To top it off, you're steps from the long sands of the beach. The location is perfect for Kihei fun (we loved the beaches) and conveniences, as well as reasonable drives to West Maui, Up Country, the airport, and even the Road to Hana and the summit of Haleakala. (We experienced them all.) The hosts are among the most thoughtful we've encountered. We recommend this stay! Have fun! (And mahalo.)

Just To Say My Wife And I Loved This Rental Feels Like An Understatement! This Property Was Everything & More. Location Was Perfect. Centrally Located With Few Minute Drive To Anywhere. No Touristy Issues That You’d Seem To Get Everywhere Else. Private Beach Was Beautiful & Locals Were Super Nice. Resort Had Clean Private Pool & Hot Tub For Days We Wanted To Relax There. Sitting On The Back Patio Watching The Island Wake Up And Go To Sleep Was A Peacefulness Like We Haven’t Experienced Before. The Rental Was Super Clean And Could Tell Is Well Taken Care Of! Jim & Carol Were Probably The Most Accommodating Hosts That We’ve Ever Rented From! Also Very Easy To Communicate With! We Loved Our Welcome Package 🙌 Definitely Would Rent Again! You Will Not Regret Renting Here! Just Do It!

The owners thoughtfully and carefully provided everything that a guest could possibly need including sunscreen, bandaids, umbrella, rain ponchos…etc, etc, etc. In particular, we enjoyed ice cream bars stocked in the freezer, along with welcome baskets filled with bottles of water, individual snack bars, Hawaiian cookies and more…. We were told we could use anything there because it was to feel like our home. The refrigerator had catsup, mayonnaise and mustard and other assorted items, things we didn’t need to buy and would never consume even in a month. (We stayed 10 days.). We thank the owners…for our 10 days in Hawaii, we felt at home…this was a pleasant experience.

Unit was in a great location, the beach was 20 feet from the lanai. Groceries etc were not far away in central Kihei. Supplies were very well stocked with all the basics and more. Unit was very clean and well kept. Received very clear instructions on how to check in, contact owners etc. We arrived about 11pm and had no problems finding the unit and getting in.

And we will definitely stay here again just simply amazing.

We had a wonderful experience here at Sugar Beach! Our host was very warm and welcoming. She welcomed us with a welcome pack of essentials (e.g. coffee, snack foods & water), which we found very helpful because we couldn’t get groceries until the day after we arrived. She also had a well-stocked supply of things like Q-tips, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, beach towels, and anything needed to make us feel right at home! We loved watching the sunset each evening on the lanai and we appreciated having our own laundry machines, AC, and a king size bed to help us relax and for convenience. The pool and beach were used almost daily; having them at our finger tips was so convenient to cool off after a day of hiking/sightseeing. The unit was very clean. We liked the updated appliances and decor. Carol & Jim left instructions for everything, which made it super easy to find things and to problem-solve. The only disappointment was the wifi in the evening - it was very slow most of the time. Overall, we loved our Maui vacation and we would definitely stay here again!

We had a fantastic stay. The owners are so very nice and helpful! The condo was beautiful and extremely well equipped. We would recommend this unit to anyone who wants to visit Maui! We would stay here again if we return to Maui.

Our stay at #131 was SO GREAT! Jim and Carol go above and beyond in every aspect! They provide literally everything you will ever need on your vacation. Upon booking, they send you a welcome email with an inventory list of everything that’s in their condo and location of each item. A map of the resort is also provided. Upon arrival you are greeted with a beautiful view and snacks set up in baskets. Jim and Carol are available within minutes in the case you need to contact them. Prior to our vacation I reached out to them for dinner suggestions and they provided a great list of options!The condo itself is beautifully decorated and nicely kept. It looks directly out to the ocean and just a few steps away from the beach! Each morning was so beautiful having breakfast looking out to the ocean. We even had a few roosters pay us a visit right in front of the lanai. Even with other families staying next door, we never had a noise issue. Everyone was very friendly.Boogie boards, towels, beach chairs, and a small cooler are provided. I forgot my hairspray at home and was so excited to find that Jim and Carol had even that under the bathroom sink! They have extra everything! Extra towels, extra blankets, comforter, extra Dove shampoo/conditioner/body wash.The condo is pretty centrally located to food/stores/gas stations. You won’t regret staying here! Do it!!!Thanks again Jim and Carol, we look forward to coming back one day

This condo is gorgeous! We loved how beautifully decorated it was and it was 50 ft from the beach. This is truly an upscale condo. The owners are wonderful and caring people. We truly loved our stay and appreciated all the sweet touches to make guests feel at home. We had snacks, water and candy provided for us. Everything we could have needed was there. Also there was a possibility of high waves and not only did they bring sandbags over but they also had another place lined up for us if the waves flooded the condo. You can't beat this place if you tried!! Thank you to the McCauley's!

We had a great time. The location of the property was even better that what we expected from the description. The host was very helpful. The condo had everything we needed and more. We needed a small cooler for a day trip and could not find one. We called the Jim to see if there was one... and within few hour Jim dropped one at the door. Also Jim was very considerate to extend the checkout time since our flight was later in the day.

Beautiful condo that offers everything you could think of and more. Owners were very easy to get ahold of if we needed anything, great communication! The location of this condo was perfect, just a quick drive to most places we went.

When you stay at the This property, the owners, Jim and Carol, say their home is your home. They really meant well. The home is clean and very well organized. It is fully stocked with all the things you need, with the extra goodies! You’re getting to the island and it’s hot, you really appreciate the well stocked refrigerator with water and some other drinks. You cannot beat the location as it is just literally few steps to the beach once you’re out of your patio. Parking is infront of the building and locker is fully stocked with whatever you need outdoor, chairs, fishing stuff, boogie boards, anything you need! Will come back again! Couldn’t thank the owners enough💕

This was just a wonderful stay!!! We got to meet Carol on our way out and she was just lovely! So thoughtful, kind, and intentional about making sure we enjoyed our stay. We had a great time! It's a great central location to the rest of the island and there's yummy shave ice just up the street!

Having breakfast each morning on the patio 20 yards from the ocean after a 3 mile walk on a pure sand beach, what can be better! This unit is beautiful. The owners are local and take excellent care of the unit. It's hard to believe it is a rental. They have a storage locker full of beach items for anyone from 1 to 100. They have wonderful baskets with hawaiian treats, crackers and granola bars and a fridge with water cheese and condiments and some ice cream treats in the freezer waiting for your arrival. The unit is beautifully decorated and bed very comfortable. We enjoyed many meals on the patio enjoying that view. The pool area is very large although we spent much more time on the beach. Our best meals were nights we grilled and enjoyed dinner on the patio. I have been to Maui many times staying in very nice resorts and condos but for location and owner care this is at the top of the list.

We had our whole family staying in properties at sugar beach and our unit was the base for all get togethers as it was so well stocked ! Jim and Carol have thought of everything to make your vacation a home away from home ! Thank you for a perfect Christmas getaway !

The condo is on the first floor of the building, making it extremely convenient if you are looking to spend as much time on the beach as possible. You literally walk across the grass and a lovely, smooth, sandy beach stretches a good ways in both directions. Jim and Carol were quite friendly and kind and their unit is clearly stocked with the guests comfort in mind. Location is great, I’ve found Kihei to be a great spot on Maui as it’s easy to get food and groceries, but not as crowded as Lahaina or Wailea. Would definitely stay again!!
