The view from the outside is amazing. We loved spending the day by the pool and the evening under the covered patio playing games. The home is spacious and all the furniture is lovely and comfortable. The steam room and cold plunge pool was a delight we've never experienced. Being able to pick fresh fruit in the backyard was such a treat! We loved our stay!

Nearly everything about La Perla was great. Comfortable beds, spacious throughout, all the appliances needed for the kitchen. The patio and pool area was where we spent lots of our time while at the property, and the geckos were lovely in the evenings. Wonderful pool. The only downside, totally out of the control of management, were the flying ants. They were in other parts of town as well. We did determine that keeping the lights off helped with them not coming in, but made it tricky to do much but use our electronics at times. Other wildlife around the property was fascinating - toucans, iguanas, many species of birds. Wonderful overall!

La Perla never disappoints. This was our third stay here and it was fabulous as always. It was the first time we brought extended family with us and the hosts accommodated every need for the diverse group. The house is perfect since each room has it's own bathroom so everyone can have their own private space to get ready. We loved our chill time by the pool and late night spa time after a group home cooked dinner in the great kitchen. Everyone loved the house and we have amazing memories that will last a lifetime. We can't thank Sandra and Marco enough for all that they did (and put up with) for this group. Already looking forward to next year!

Awesome! Resort style stay, Beautiful views and landscaping; Coffee every morning on the patio, the patio was the place to be to take in the view, breeze, birds, etc. We would walk into town in the mornings but taxi back (up hill is tough). Sauna, Pool and Hot Tub was an every day visit. Kitchen had everything needed for cooking meals, the BBQ pit was great. Sandra was amazing, quick to respond to any question or concern with lots of recommendations for taxi drivers, things to do, etc. We Highly recommend for people to stay here if you are in need of some R&R and not the touristy hustle and bustle.

Outstanding property!

The pearl of Atenas is beautiful, the pictures do not do it enough justice. The house the layout is spectacular. more than enough room for a family or serval couples… the separate living room vs TV room is huge. The deck , pool, hot tub & cold plunge pool are excellent. The sauna steam room is a added bonus. You will see birds , and critters around. I will go back in a second. The property mangers answered quickly and were great with info and suggestions. Don’t hesitate book ASAP

The pictures don’t do this amazing home justice. Very clean, very comfortable, everything you need is there. It’s very peaceful and relaxing. The views are amazing, especially after taking a hot steam shower, jumping into the cold plunge pool, then relaxing in the regular pool or the hot tub. Very safe neighborhood and property and close the all of the Atenas amenities. It had the hottest and most constant hot water of any house we’ve ever stayed at in CR (6 other houses). Excellent and very responsive hosts was a huge plus. This would be our dream house to purchase in CR!!!!

Awesome, awesome stay. I have never had a vacation that was so relaxing and fun at the same time. My wife and I because it was her Birthday really enjoyed ourselves. We hope to return in the future.

Six of us thoroughly enjoyed this spacious and beautiful house. There is so much beauty all around that we purposely selected several "free" days during our stay (no tours or scheduled activities) to just enjoy the environment and the lovely outdoor living space and pools. We have stayed in many VRBO accommodations before and never found a management team as enjoyable to work with as PMA and Bunkitours! Sandra and Marco have become our favorite Dutch Costa Ricans :). This was our second stay in Atenas with the same team and it will surely not be our last.

The property is beautiful and views most excellent. Property managers were responsive to the few issues we had and corrected in a timely fashion.

The villa was a fantastic choice for us. Very convenient to the town of Atenas and San Jose airport. Sandra, Klaas and Marco were all wonderful to work with. It was a smooth process from booking all the way to check out. Very easy to work with and communicated everything throughout the stay. We also booked several tours with them. Top notch service. Our two week stay in Atenas was wonderful. This was our third trip to Costa Rica, and second time in the Atenas area. The weather was nearly perfect every day, and the house was as described - beautiful and well designed for guests. The grounds were immaculately kept, and the views of the surrounding mountains and the town of Atenas were amazing. We made several hikes into town, a nice 30 minute walk, for stops to a well stocked grocery store as well as to explore the local restaurants and shops. Sandra, Marcus, and Klaus were very helpful in planning some enjoyable day trips for us, and having them provide transportation to and from the airport in San Jose (a 30 minute trip) eliminated the need for a car. Overall a very relaxing two weeks!

The property and the pictures were an exact match. The beds were comfortable, the house was spacious. We enjoyed evenings in the media room and hot tubbing. The hosts were extremely helpful from stock the fridge to helping to plan our excursions. Wonderful trip!!!

This is my second time staying at this property in the last 6 months everything is " PERFECT ".. i come every other month and if this property is open i will always stay here...

Communication before our stay was outstanding. The home is beautiful, very clean, kitchen is stocked like a luxury home. with everything you need to cook, and serve. The bedrooms all have king size beds with extremely comfortable mattresses, large bathrooms and showers, that are stocked with more towels than you could use in a month. Pool area is beautiful with a heated jacuzzi and quality patio furniture. Other amenities are new Stainless steel BBQ, Steam shower, large washer and dryer, separate media room with a new large screen TV with working Netflix and Amazon prime. Wi-Fi worked good for us download speeds were about 18mbps. Home is in a guarded neighborhood, very safe, good roads, only 3 minutes to Atenas. The view from the pool area is majestic. Highly recommend.

The house is amazing! It has everything you need and the view is amazing. I'll definitely be back whenever I visit Costa Rica again. The property manager made us feel welcome the moment we ment her. Thank you Costa Rica for the wonderful memories. Pura Vida!

Our second stay at La Perla. A beautiful comfortable well equipped house with everything you could possibly need. Sandra was great and went out of her way to get a forgotten item sent to us. If you are looking for privacy, views and luxury all within close range to the city of Atenas, grocery stores, and many things to see and do, La Perla is the place! Highly recommend!

We had a marvelous stay in Atenas. The hot tub, pool, kitchen, and surrounding gardens were a wonderful escape. We saw toucans almost daily and awoke to birds in the morning. We hosted a lovely Thanksgiving dinner in a well stocked kitchen. The staff were helpful and very responsive. We requested to be able to watch the World Cup and Sandra and her team went above and beyond to provide a new TV complete with a full Fubo subscription so we would never miss a game. We had an awesome time. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms large and well laid out, and the sauna and cold dipping pool a real treat! We'll be back soon.

We came to this beautiful home last year and fell in love with the surroundings and the group that manages the home. Our friends arrived a few days after my husband and I. Upon their arrival, they realized they had left one of their backpacks containing their prescriptions at the airport. Marco was kind enough to drive our friend back to the airport immediately so the backpack could be retrieved. At one point there was an issue with the coffee pot and when we let Sandra know, she immediately (within 10 minutes) came back with a replacement. It was beyond believe the customer service that was provided. There were some small problems with the washing machine and dishwasher and they had someone out to take a look at it the very next day. They are definitely on top of their game and want to ensure that you have everything you need during your stay. They coordinated all of the excursions we wanted to do with transportation, made amazing restaurant suggestions, came on various days to transport us to our multiple departing times at the airport and were just as helpful as can be. We love La Perla and look forward to our next adventure there.

We enjoyed our stay at the Villa. We did feel that there are some things that need attention such as holes in screen and most of the doors don't lock so you have to put poles across the bottom of them. The media room was definately not as expected and the TV is very old. My guys look forward to watching movies at night and also playing video games and the internet was not good in that room. The TV really needs to be upgraded. A coat of paint could also be used in some areas as the walls are quite dirty in the Butlers Pantry and a few other areas in particular. The dishes in the cupboard were not very clean and I quickly realized it's because the dishwasher doesn't clean at all. We handwashed everything for the whole stay including before we left. Coffee machine needs to be replaced as it doesn't filter through very well and we had to stand there and keep lifting the filter up as the water passed through. I think a good walk through to see what needs updating and cleaning would be very good. We loved the stay and the outside area was perfect for us. Beds were probably the most comfortable I have ever had at any VRBO. We had the chef come in one night and all the excursions planned were perfect and Sandra or Marco were on time for everything. They made everything go flawless for us. All in all a good vacation and the villa is beautiful.

We arrived at night and walked through the courtyard into this grand home, our eyes wide. We felt so lucky to be staying there! The views from the back patio the next morning renewed our sense of wonder. This is a splendid property, exquisitely equipped. On our five-stop, nearly monthlong tour of Costa Rica in July-August 2022, we relished our week at La Perla de Atenas, not least the underwater colors that lit the pool after dark. Some tips for potential guests: * Keep at least the screen doors closed at all times. Unwelcome appearances are unlikely — so we heard — but there are at least six sets of sliding doors, and it doesn’t take long for a creature to slither in somewhere. Familiarize yourself with the local fauna to know how to respond. If you speak Spanish, Ulises, the groundskeeper, is a wealth of information. * Be very careful with the décor. Ornaments abound. Our son broke a glass bowl on the coffee table, we reported the damage, and a property manager told us not to worry. A few days later, she said the bowl was more valuable than she’d realized, and another property manager, explaining that the owners had granted a reduction in the replacement cost, charged us $250 through VRBO. * Prepare to sleep in the tropics. Atenas promotes its climate as the best in the world, and it is very nice, but the nights are still warm and humid. Ceiling and floor fans help but don’t take the stickiness out of the air quite like AC. And the birdsong starts quite early, but you’ll find many white noise machines throughout the house. * Look around (beyond Atenas). For tremendous views, trek up the steep hills of the exclusive gated community where this house is located. Check out the local farmers’ market on a Thursday (more vendors). Go for breakfast or lunch at La Casita del Café. The town of Atenas has beautiful scenery and several appetizing restaurants (we also liked Parrillada Androvetto), but Costa Rica’s main tourist attractions are hours away.

Can't say enough good things about this property and the property management. The house is gorgeous and very clean. The yard is full of fruit trees that we enjoyed eating from -- and that attracted plenty of parrots, toucans, hummingbirds, and iguanas during our stay. The location was a perfect base of operations to explore the nearby area, from the volcano to waterfall hikes and coffee farms. The property management team was very responsive to our messages. We'd absolutely stay here again!
