Great house, pool and location! The house was very clean and spacious. The beds are very comfortable too! The location is perfect, close to grocery stores, restaurants and shopping. We loved having our coffee on the deck overlooking the ocean and the pool.

The condo was clean, spacious, and as presented online. The pool was AMAZING, and the view from the balcony, the condo, and high deck walkover to beach were so close, and beautiful. This was the first time our group stayed in Emerald Isle, but this place was so good, we're already booked for 2024. 350-ish days and counting!

This is our second year staying at Shangri La and we will definitely be returning for a 3rd. Let me be very clear, the house isn’t fully updated with stone countertops and stainless appliances. It is, however, clean and well maintained. We don’t spend much time inside so this fits our needs perfectly. The view is absolutely amazing as you are right on the beach. We have stayed at 3 other homes in Emerald Isle and none have a pool that’s even close in size to Shangri La…it’s huge! Communication with Don was easy and he responded quickly to a couple simple questions during our stay. Nothing but positives to say about this property.

This is our fourth summer renting this house, and it gets better every year. You can’t beat the location! The pool is fantastic. The house works great for our family with small kids and that there’s not a lot of breakable things in there but it’s very livable. The owner is awesome and easy to communicate with. Truly, you can’t find a better rental house on Emerald Isle!

This was the second year we stayed at Shangri-La. We came back because the property is perfect for us. The house is right on the ocean and has a nice heated swimming pool. The house has everything we need. This year the air was a bit cooler and the ocean temps were hovering around 70 degrees F. Not too bad for going in, but afterwards the warm 88-degree swimming pool was blissful. The location is close to the Swansboro end of the island for easy access to restaurants there. Trips to Harker's Island and Beaufort were also doable, with the 20-mile drive along the island road. We hope to come back again next year.

Enjoyed our stay at Shangri-la. It is a clean, comfortable, well equipped home and just the perfect size for four old friends. We loved the large deck and pool. Communication was confusing before our vacation began but upon our arrival the owner was very responsive .

House was clean and nice as it was described in ad. It was not a long walk to get on the beach which was nice. TV was outstanding.

This is the second year we have stayed here, my family rents out one side and my brother and his family rent out the other. We love the location on the Island and you cant beat the pool with the few steps to the beach. We will be returning next year!

Our family and friends had an amazing stay at the Shangri-La. It was perfectly located right on the beach within walking distance of the pier. The pool was huge and made a great second option when you wanted something different than the ocean. The property is accurately listed and is not a "luxury" home. That said, it is extremely clean and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable and linens were clean. Don was a great host and provided good checking/checkout instructions and was available when needed. Our entire group was 100% happy with the house and are already looking at dates for our return visit!

Great location, endless beach at our disposal, not than many people, shopping a minute away

This was our third or fourth year in a row renting this property and it never fails to be an amazing vacation. You can’t beat the location. The pool is fantastic especially with young kids. The house itself is well stocked and childproof which is clutch. The owner is easy to work with and fantastic. Truly, if you’re looking for an easy fun awesome family vacation this is your rental!

It was a little smaller than I thought it would be but turned out to be perfect for our group. First week with family and second week with old friends. Loved it. Pool is wonderful..

Shangri-la is a lovely vacation spot on the beach. Pool was an added plus. Cold nights prevented pool heater from keeping up. It is close to many good eateries and groceries. A glitch getting the key at checkin was the only downside. It was resolved pretty quickly.

The Pool and the views here are wonderful! And we were very satisfied with this house once again. The house was exceptionally clean this year. We rented both sides this year. The furniture and beds are all very comfortable. This is not a new house but it is well maintained and in good condition. There has been a number of updates here since our stay two years ago but we were happy with this house even then. The location is the best in our opinion. Don texted us on Monday just to check in and see if everything was OK which was very thoughtful. We mentioned that one of the deck chaise lounges was cracked and Don's maintenance guy came over the same day with a new one! Love the new washing machine with the clear lid that was delivered the day we arrived.

The best pool & heated with perfect view. Relaxing. Saw lots of dolphins, enjoyed the shrimp boats with the song, "The Shrimp Boats sre Coming, theres dancing tonight. Wont you hurry hurry home"! Washer wasnt repaired, part hadnt come in so we were low on clean laundry. Steps on outside werent too steep in this rental! Loved our week here.

You can’t beat the location of this home, it’s sits right on the beach and has a wonderful pool. Our family rented out both sides and couldn’t have been happier. We will definitely come back next year!!

This was such a nice getaway.. we couldn’t have asked for a better week! The beautiful weather permitted a lot of visits to the pool, which was absolutely beautiful!! The house was clean and kitchen stocked as stated. A good time was had by all!

The property was how it had been listed, no surprises. Due to problems with cleaning, we were late getting in and had to end up making our own beds. The fridge was not very cold, and my Grandson got to find out about emptying ice trays which he enjoyed. BUT the pool and the beach was wonderful and made up for everything.

Had a great family vacation. The location/beach/pool/view were amazing. The home is a beach house, it is not fancy but has everything you would need for a terrific holiday. Don is super attentive, and the few minor issues that occurred were quickly resolved. Would happily go back.

Wonderful, wonderful vacation! The condo was great. It was very clean and in a wonderful location. The view of the beach from the condo was super super amazing. We saw the most awesome sunrises. The pool is heated and was very clean. The landlord is easy to deal with and easy to contact. I would truly love to return.

Very nice location. Heated pool was nice because the water remained comfortable even during a few cooler nights.

The unit was not clean. The downstairs shower curtain liner was moldy; the backs of both bathroom doors were pretty dirty; the vents in the bathrooms had black mold; there were dead bugs and a strong odor under the kitchen sink; the ceiling fan blades appear to have never been dusted; and the sofa & loveseat need scrubbed or steam cleaned. There was a moldy sippy cup in living room, and a dirty sock in the downstairs twin bedroom (making me question whether anyone even cleaned the unit after the last guest). There was some sort of pest trap under the twin bed upstairs, which caused some concern. There are some outlets that didn’t work, and the upstairs queen bedroom ceiling light doesn’t work (although that could just be a bulb). At one point the furnace froze, causing it to automatically heat & blow hot air so as to defrost itself (which made for a less than comfortable interior); and the laundry room flooded twice with the rain, which was particularly dangerous given the higher voltage wires that were openly exposed. The refrigerator may need recharged, as the meat we had in it spoiled, and it never truly got cold (even if we didn’t open it). The ceiling had significant water damage, and there were several nails (rusty and of different sizes) in the gravel driveway - tires beware! On a positive note, the pool and the beach were gorgeous.

The property was some what dated and could us some updates. However the ocean front view and the pool were amazing. Air conditioning was an issue, not cooling properly the lowest it was in the house all week was 78 degrees.

This location is ideal, and the heated pool is an extra bonus. This was close to grocery store and other amenities on the isle. The kitchen was stocked well, and with the fresh seafood markets it made more sense to grill there than go out to eat every night.

Our vacation was awesome once again at Shangrala!!! The property is exactly as advertised. Everything you need is at this place to enjoy, relax and truly create memories. Thanks Don!!

We've been renting beach houses for 20 years and I'm here to say this was the best yet! Perfect location, oceanfront with it's own private pool!! It was clean and came with bed linens! So nice not to have to take all of that and have to bring it back to wash. The stairs to the beach weren't too much for my parents, who are in their 70's. It's close to restaurants, ice cream shoppes and grocery stores. The owner, Don, was super nice and responded very quickly to all questions. Even checked in the day we arrived to make sure all was ok. We would definitely consider renting again!!!

Our stay could not have gone better. The house had everything that we could have wanted. The pool was definitely a wonderful bonus that made our experience more pleasant. I would highly recommend this property for your stay on Emerald Isle. Thanks Don!

We absolutely loved the Shangri La on Emerald Isle. We rented both sides of the duplex to accommodate us, our 3 children, and grandchildren. We couldn’t have found a better place. The set up was perfect. Better than anywhere we have stayed before and we will definitely be coming back to this home. Everyone loved the large private heated pool and the beautiful beach only steps away. The views were spectacular any part of the day or evening. Don, the owner, checked in on us to make sure everything was as we expected. All the years we have been taking our children (and now grandchildren) on vacation they told us this was best place we have ever stayed at.
