Good experience quick and easy

Came here with 7 friends. Had a great time and a good stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Lovely sun porch area has no coffee table despite one depicted in,listing photos so no place to put your feet or your drink. Beds and bathrooms were comfortable so if you need a place for two or three people, this might be a lower cost option. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be room for more people to sit and watch tv.

The location made it easy for *all* of us to walk to the resort across the street and swim in and lounge by the pools with cocktails in hand, use the large hot tub, and play on the beautiful, wide beach. The just house just needs one more (sleeper) sofa in the main living area and some fresh carpet to be perfect. Wild Dunes and the IOP are the absolute best for family time and relaxation.

Since we booked last minute, we couldn't be choosy about the location. The house was a little further from beach than we would have preferred. An LSV (golf cart) rental would be a must in the future.

Elevator, although nice, had a terrible musty odor. The range hood didn't work, bathtub didn't drain well and had a few palmetto bugs. Otherwise, place was very clean and well furnished. Would recommend it with the above stated caveats.

The house needs to be sprayed inside and out for spiders - lots of webs covering the outside eaves and windows, and we had a number of small spiders inside the house - a visit from pest control should take care of the problem.

Reviewer Comments: The rental was relatively clean and a good size for our group. The A/C did not work properly and it took a very long time to cool off when we first arrived. The technician came out and said it was a problem with the location of the unit under the house. Also, a lot of unused space in the middle of the house and the furniture should be updated. There were a few spiders found in the house.

Reviewer Comments: When we arrived to the property, we were greeted by animal feces by the front door on the porch, and underwear and a trash bag near the side of the the house. When we entered the property we noted a dead lizard by the air vent under the window that had clearly been there for a while. We did have to do some cleaning of our own and removed more than one dead lizard from the inside of the house during our stay. It was clear from the start the property had not had a thorough cleaning in a while.
After the first night we noticed many house spiders in the bedroom. While we understand the occasional spider getting in the house, as it happens to everyone, we killed more than 15 spiders in the bedroom alone in a single sitting. That’s obviously an issue and further indicates that the property has not been properly maintained in regards to bug and pest management. Other issues we noted were an infestation of ants around the front door, completely clogged gutters causing a flood of water on the porch, and the status of the water filter on the fridge was red indicating it needed to be changed.
Overall we would not recommend this property unless the above issues are resolved, as there are many other places in Wild Dunes to stay. We would love to return and rent a different property in the future

Extremely quiet home and neighbors and great access to walking/running/biking trails. Easy drive to restaurants and other services. Awesome seafood for purchase at Simmons or Harris Teeter. Kayaking available for private rentals, but we did not avail at this time. (we have in the past.) Island Realty-easy check in and out. Highly recommend.

Reviewer Comments: W e had a great week staying in this house in spite of the following drawbacks; the construction site nearby made for a longer walk to the beach (our grandsons did love seeing the large tower crane at work), the elevator is great but the kitchen and bathrooms are NOT wheelchair accessible, parking space is limited unless you have compact cars as driveway is very narrow, tub & sink drains in both bathrooms backed up and house could have been cleaner.

We rented the property in April for a vacation in July and a vacationer noted that in May the property needed a deep cleaning which was not done. The carpets and furniture needed a steam cleaning. Island Realty was great and moved us to another property on 43 Ave 15 which was fantastic. Great place with a beautiful pool. We will definitely use Island Realty again!

There were too many steps to climb daily and the elevator did not look like something we should get in. It had unfinished plywood walls and was a dark hole.

The house was livable. In other words, the floors, toilets, appliances were clean but the upholstery was filthy. Sofa looked as though someone had been walking all over it. Cobwebs were in almost all of the windows and the elevator smelled like feet. It was very bad. The exterior of the home needs to be pressure washed. I told the check our staff this upon leaving so, hopefully for the next guests, it will be cleaned. The proximity to the beach and the access to the pavilion are a major plus for the property. We enjoyed the front sunroom although not a single TV worked in the entire home and the WiFi password was incorrect. I had to contact maintenance for the new password.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Worst rental, period. An Island Reality property disguised as a VRBO. Rotten deck furniture. Rotten siding. Soiled slip covers. Overall neglected appearance inside. The worst part was the pile driving operation within 100 yards that began at 0730. island Reality knew this but chose to keep mum. Not a good thing with a baby. The foundation is not reinforced so expect the flooring to rock with people walking in the living area or deck while you are trying to sleep. Leaves along the driveway are a slip hazard. Clearly Island Reality focused on their commission at the expense of the customer.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great place to rent. We would definitely rent this house again. We had 3 adults and 4 kids - two 4yr / 2.5yr / 3mo. Was a great setup for us. The walk to the beach wasn't bad even with the toddlers but highly recommend bringing a wagon or something else to take things to and from the beach. We had a BOB stroller for the 3mo old which worked fine because there are no stairs to get to the beach.

The stairs were a bit slippery when wet - take care to hold on or just use the elevator.

The only negative is there isn't an official pool option - but the pool nearby at the Village was accessible and they didn't check to make sure you were staying there.

The house was just as the pictures were on your internet listing. Everything was clean and comfortable! The only item that needs some attention are the drains in the bathrooms. Very slow and you are standing in water that hasn’t drained. Maybe some Liquid Plummer would fix this.
