I can’t say enough about the helpfulness and communication of the property owner. We could hear the ocean and it was so easy to just take a short walk down to the beach. We didn’t swim but happily walked in the sand taking pictures and looking for shells. Local restaurants were fantastic without exception. The drive into San Diego was fairly easy but we were always happy to get back “home” which is cozy and welcoming. It is not a fancy place but we aren’t fancy folk. Clean and comfortable was what we wanted and that’s what we got. Our visit was too short for sure.

This is a great place for families - walkable neighborhood, lots of stores and shops close by; designated parking spot, and one block from the beautiful beach! A fully equipped kitchen, great for preparing family meals. Only 20 minutes to San Diego attractions.

We were in San Diego to visit family. Traveling with family can be difficult. This VRBO makes it easier, the penthouse has tons of room so we could each have our own space. Each room has a TV and the Internet was plenty fast. Coffee shop across the street, restaurants 1 minute walk in any direction and a private staircase to the private parking makes getting and easy. Check out was a breeze and the hosts were super accommodating to our check in after a flight with a daughter who got sick. Cheers

I booked this property for my birthday in October and should've read more reviews before booking. Upon arrival at the property, my guest and I were informed that the home had three SMART keys. The home had two physical keys, which; were left under the doormat. The parking spot to the penthouse was extremely tight, making it hard for us to load and unload our belongings, let alone get into the vehicle. The private staircase brought you into a back bathroom which was interesting. The bathrooms were not the cleanest- the faucets in the bathrooms; had very heavy and prevalent calcium build-up, and the shower walls looked as if the dirt from the past occupants was still there. When we went to use the ironing board, it was rusted and broken, so we were left to use the dryer to knock wrinkles out of our clothes. The morning after our first night, my friend let out a loud "OH NO" as a rodent scurried across the floor. There were visible droppings; present in the kitchen sink and by the private staircase in the back. The neighbood felt safe, and there were many resturants in walking distance. While the host worked with us to reslove issues that arose during our visit, if I had the option to book again, I wouldn't chose to stay at this property.

Location was wonderful. Right by the beach so we could walk to it to watch the sunset. Across from the candy store and several restaurants in walking distance. Only thing about the neighborhood was a few people who appeared to be homeless, but we didn't have much trouble with them. Property could use a few minor cosmetic repairs but otherwise was perfect for our needs.

This trip was planned for my mother and her friends. SO of course you want to make sure that your parents have a good time in a fantastic spot. This spot on Imperial beach was perfect. The location is prime as was the living quarters as well. The host, Emilia and John, are great to interact with, cool personalities, quick to respond, and super-accommodating. In taking care of my mother and her friends... they went above and beyond. I thank them for their kindness. Overall, all in my mother's group as well as myself highly recommend this home!!!! Again, thank you for everything John and Emilia.

The parking spot was extremely tight even though we rented a Ford Mustang convertible so I would recommend not bringing a car bigger than that. The check-in instructions said the front door would be unlocked and that the keys would be on the coffee table, but the door was locked and my husband found the keys under the mat at the front door. The back door leads right into the second bathroom, which was odd. The bathrooms were dirty - faucets looked like they hadn’t been cleaned or they were rotting. One of the shower walls had a brown tinge to it. The kitchen had a foul odor and the cabinets felt sticky to the touch so we didn’t cook during our stay and just ate all of our meals out. The view was fantastic and the entire reason we chose this property was the location, so we could have easily overlooked these issues. However, the water at Imperial Beach is contaminated with sewage from the Tijuana River, so we didn’t go in the water there at all. There were signs posted on the beach that the water may contain sewage. All of the negatives would have been worth it. However, since we couldn’t go in the water, the location didn’t end up being good for us at all. The neighborhood was safe and there were good restaurants in walking distance. However, it got very loud at night - and into the middle of the night - noisy cars and loud people. If you’re a light sleeper, you won’t get much sleep. I would not recommend staying in Imperial Beach if you actually want to go in the water. I would not return to Imperial Beach for that reason. Granted, the sewage is not the fault of the property owner, but we paid a lot to stay here due to the close proximity to the beach, which we would only look at.

Loved this place. Definately will sta again. Privacy, perfect location to beach, restaurants etc. Could walk to all. Private deck was amazing to have!!

Overall our stay was fine. The location is fantastic, if you want to be close to the beach and that's pretty much all you care about then you can't beat this. Communication with the host was hit and miss, there are some inaccuracies in the listing information, but it's all small stuff. I'd probably stay here again.

The condo came equipped with everything we needed. There was plenty of space for our group. The beds and sofas were comfortable. The kitchen came equipped with all the dishes, pots, pans, and utensils needed, and there was also a gas grill on the patio. There are tvs with premium channels in all three bedrooms as well as the livingroom . Communication with the owners was really great. Check in and check out was very easy. They are great hosts, very responsive, and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely book another stay at the Imperial Beach condo.

This location has amazing views of the ocean from the back deck. But for viewing 4th of July fireworks, it was a spectacular view of IB, Coronado, and San Diego proper. This home is a real treasure, and with John & Emilia, communication is swift and always kind.

We enjoyed our time in San Diego and this location was great. The close proximity to the beach and sitting on the patio watching sunrise and sunset were amazing. Thank you John and Emilia for sharing your home with us.

Our family of 7 stayed at this property for a week. Lots of space, well stocked kitchen, great location, amazing selection of beach toys/chairs/accessories and the private deck was used a ton! Only complaint was the parking space is very tight! Property manager was very communicative and check-in/checkout was easy peasy!

Our family of 8 recently stayed at this property for 4 days. We enjoyed the views, the easy access to the beach, and the atmosphere. We appreciated the fact that this site had a washer and dryer. Since we had 3 kids with us, this was a necessary amenity. We would recommend this property considering having a k-cup coffee pot (instead or in addition to the regular coffee pot, which it did have onsite) as those are more popular. We were able to quickly grab one from the local CVS. There are many delicious restaurants near by. We tried a new one every night, and were not disappointed.

This was a great value property for the location. Fabulous family room and deck to gather on with a great view. Property could use some updating as the bedrooms were starting to show wear and tear.

There was some miscommunication with the check in but it was quickly fixed. The location is in Brest proximity to the beach, the house was clean and comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked.
