We really enjoyed being close enough to the ocean to hear the soothing soubds of the ocean. The upstairs deck was perfect gor us. If we lived closer we would want to have a cabanna just like yours. Thanks

Perfect size and distance from beach

Overall, I would rate our stay as 3.5 stars. The amenities that we enjoyed: The community of Hatteras overall is very lovely; small, remote, family-oriented, and we would visit again. We enjoyed the lighthouses and highly recommend Sonny's restaurant. In addition, we enjoyed having the beach within a very short walking distance from the Cabana. The price point for the property is also very reasonable. The square space was adequately advertised for the Cabana, however, for more than one person we would suggest more space for bags, groceries, etc. The main factor that reduces the rating below 5 stars is the cleanliness of the Cabana at check -in. The shower has stains/black mold in it, the glassware above the sink needed a good dusting along with the ceiling fan. The lamp beside the bed was stained with what appeared to be soda (lots of brown dots??), the bathroom shelving was old and rusted. The kitchen was overly stocked with cookware (junky) and took away from grocery storage. Lastly, the cabana should have a landline for emergencies.

The cabana is in a nice area, close to the beach, and the property was clean. With that being said, if you choose to book this property MAKE SURE YOU VIDEO YOUR ENTIRE CHECK IN PROCESS. When I arrived on vacation the last thing I was worried about was videoing every cosmetic imperfection with the property which turned out to be a mistake when having Terri as a host. The microwave had a burn mark on a plastic piece when I arrived, but it worked perfect without smoke/odor. Shortly after my trip was over Terri, without contacting me beforehand, attempted to charge me $500 for a brand new microwave. He then proceeded to get upset/rude when I explained the situation and how it was like that when I arrived. I did not complain about the microwave simply because it worked and the issue was cosmetic. I personally would suggest paying a little bit more or finding any other host than someone who will try to find every little thing wrong to charge you extra.

Well maintained property. Very clean. Bed was a little soft but was all good. Had all the cooking essentials and then some. Very quite, peaceful cabana.

Cute little cabana with easy access to the beach, the Ocracoke Ferry and a variety of restaurants. Plenty of supplies for cooking and the host was clear about what other supplies were included as well as what we needed to bring. We felt very prepared. Bedding is soft and comfortable, though I recommend bringing your own pillows if you are picky because the ones provided are pretty flat. Only complaint, and it’s a small one, is that the shower doesn’t get very hot- the kitchen sink does so we know it’s possible- but not the shower.

Location was fantastic. Walk to beach. Bed was sagging in center and was too high. From floor to bed was 36” which is same height as most kitchen counters. Hard to get in and out of bed. Bathroom has almost no storage. Some strong wall hooks rather than decorative ones would have helped. No DVD player, at least not that we could find. Pillows were pretty bad, and the sheets were hot. Probably not 100% cotton. I would bring your own sheets and pillows. I was surprised that we had to provide our own bath towels. I was not prepared for that, which was my own fault for not reading carefully. The flooring was great, but cleaning service could have done a better job. Toekick area in kitchen was pretty unsightly, and a scrub brush in the shower would have been helpful. Overall we had a great week, and the inconveniences were not that serious, though the mattress could be replaced, perhaps with a foam one that is not as tall! Thankful for the great week we had.

My husband and I got married at Kill Devil Hills 5 years ago and came here to celebrate our anniversary. We wanted something more remote and less busy…..this was the PERFECT location. We absolutely loved our stay.

Very good experience staying here. Good location, right next to the beach, and a short drive from food and things to do. Loved the deck on the roof.

Overall a good experience

We enjoyed our stay here. The bed was comfortable and we liked being just steps away from the beach. We liked the rooftop deck area but it was too cold and windy during our stay to use it much. The bathroom was very small, but worked fine. Be aware the water heater is small and only has enough hot water for 1 longer shower, or a couple of quick ones. We would stay here again!

Enjoyed the total quiet other than ocean waves in February 2023. Weather was warm most of the week 60-70 degrees. One day rain and 40. Very few neighbors so very quiet and relaxed. Thank you for a wonderful week.

Amazing experience! Studio was super cozy, clean, and easy to get around/take the ferry/etc.; walked on the beach every day and enjoyed a beautiful sunset from the balcony. Would stay here again!

We had a great, fun, and most of all relaxing time. Property was clean and everything needed was at hand. My only "complaint" or really observation if you will was the fact that the photos taken online was of a cabana that with an unobstructed view of the ocean. Don't get me wrong. The view we had was fantastic but we didn't realize that would also be seen rooftops but not a big deal really. As I said it was more of an observation and I complaint. Again, the cabana was super clean, spacious enough for just the two of us. ❤️ We can't wait to come back!

Everything was great. This is the first time w VRBO and it was a good experience.

1st time staying in Hatteras. It was the perfect vacation. Fishing was great. The small cottage was just right for us. It had all that we needed for a relaxing vacation. Really enjoyed the rooftop deck at night. Will definitely stay there again.

Nice place close to beach

Loved lots of things about the rental. Would suggest to have a few dish rags and hand towels for the kitchen and bathroom. We are expected to clean up after ourselves and did not have anything to use. My only concern. Everything else was great!

If you are looking for a beach getaway to just relax and take in the sun, this is your place. Small, but really has everything you need. We spent our time walking and reading on the beach. Enjoyed coffee on the upper observation deck watching the waves roll in endlessly, and enjoyed drinks up there in the evening. We cooked simple meals. Made breakfast. Ate out a few times, but mostly relaxed. Very short walk over the dune to the beach, which is breath taking. Short enough to walk back to use the bathroom if needed. Less than 100 yards, I would guess. Easy communication with the cleaning staff as our rugs were a bit soiled when we arrived, so we called and they came and replaced them right away and replaced a few light bulbs. Bed was very comfortable and shower was very nice. We brought all our own towels. Had all the utensils and pans we needed to cook with. I brought seasonings, oil, and all our food. Only drawback, which really isn't a negative was the TV. We do not stream TV much and are not very savvy at it. TV is not your focus when you go to the beach, but in the morning while making breakfast, we like to listen to morning news and weather. We could not find just simple local stations. We could stream Netflix, but it cut out a lot. Maybe just some simple directions for those of us that usually have cable and a guide to choose from would be helpful. Again, not a negative. If you are the type of person who needs a TV at the beach, then don't go. The stores around Hatteras have everything you need. The trip to Okracoke was a nice ferry ride, but the island was extremely touristy. Thank you for a nice place in a beautiful area.

Sea la Vie was the coziest of cabanas we probably could have rented for our week on OBX. Very clean! Terri, and the group at Hatteras Helping Hands were very communicative when we needed them. Would recommend to any other couple looking for a small getaway from the hustle and bustle of the crowded areas of OBX.
