The house is well furnished, plenty kitchen stuff and very clean!! We enjoyed the dock and kayaks. Location was great!

We absolutely loved the Otters Pub. Just big enough that all the kids have room but not 4 flights of stairs to climb. Grandma had her own little place downstairs for the kids to visit. A wonderdul porch to get of the sun. The teens loved the kayaks that was there. Unfortunately if youre wanting to fish it's not that good but didn't stop the kids from hand lining crabs right from the backyard. Everything we forgot they had there for us. We will certainty try to book this house again. There's no beach or direct sound access that was public in the development but the neighbors didnt complain about the teen boys trying their luck fishing in there backyards.

Although we have rented on Hatteras for many years, this was our first stay in this house and in this area. We enjoyed the peaceful streets for bike rides. We loved being right on the canal to watch the birds and fish. The house was very clean, and the kitchen contained everything we needed for the many meals we cooked. The house is a very nice size.

We enjoyed our stay at Otter’s Pub. There were a few issues. No coffee pot in the lower level. The lower level shower has NO pressure. Both smoke detectors had to have the batteries replaced. Broken glass found under the living room coffee table. No kitchen linens. Kitchen chairs need felt pads on the bottom of the legs; the noise in the lower level from the chairs being moved across the floor was annoying. Those issues aside, we loved the separate in law suite on the lower level. The upper deck with the dog gate was fabulous. The lower level decks offer plenty of seating options. We had a great time fishing the canal. Information that the canal was only about 4 feet deep would have been helpful. We brought surf rods, had to buy smaller rods for the canal.

We enjoyed our stay. The deck area could have been enjoyed more if the large table was not there. The cabin sleeps 4 but the table is for 8. The deck is not large enough to accommodate a table that size. We could only enjoy the two high top chairs and table to sit outside. It would be better to have more comfortable chairs there instead of large table. Location was fantastic.

Stay was wonderful! Beautiful house and location! House was everything I could have hoped for, very well stocked kitchen, quite private neighborhood. Owners where easy to communicate with and very quick on responses. Highly recommend this property!

Great place! We love staying at the otters pub. We have great access to everything we want to do, the water access is unbeatable, and the peace and quiet is what we always need. We recommend this home and the property management company highly!

We loved staying at Otter's Pub. My husband fished off the peer. We traveled to Ocracoke and local sights, having a great time. The local seafood was the best. The restaurants are all excellent! The accommodations were perfect for us. Overall, a wonderful vacation!

We really enjoyed our stay! John and Cheryl had perfect communication throughout the booking. Location was perfect for what we did, we enjoyed the kayaks and the dock in the canal right in the back yard,, and of course mostly enjoyed the mighty Atlantic Ocean! The main house with kitchen, large living room, and master bedroom combined with the smaller separate suite downstairs made for a perfect location for two couples to vacation together and still enjoy their privacy. Property was a very convenient location for a family wedding and provided enough space for a toddler to move around.

Otter’s Pub was a perfect getaway for my husband and I while visiting the OBX! The house was clean, well appointed and charming. Everything functioned as advertised. The neighborhood is quiet with very nice residents but also many other VRBO rentals. Being away from the beaches catered to a mature crowd, there were no loud parties around us. Nearby access to shops and beaches was nice, it’s in a good location on the island. It was very serene and suited us perfectly. Our only complaints were minor things to us. You cannot access the upper story of the house through the ground floor; you have to walk up the outdoor stairway which is a pain when it’s raining. Anyone staying downstairs is completely separated from the upstairs guests, which Was not a problem for us but might be for people with kids who need supervision. The South side of the house which overlooks the canal has a beautiful view from the balcony but gets full sun without shade all day long so it gets brutally hot in the summer. We would have enjoyed sitting out on the balcony more often but it was only tolerable in the morning and late evening. Which was fine since we were not there much of the day anyway. If you bring your own boat you should be aware that at low tide you may not be able to leave the canal and get into the Sound due to the very shallow water. At some point it is less than one foot deep! Bring new to the area, the learning curve for navigating the canal and Sound was pretty steep. We managed to get out and catch some fish which was fun. Overall Otter’s Pub was a wonderful place to stay. Communication with the owners was pleasant and prompt when we had a question. We’d stay again in the future!

We enjoyed our week at the Otter’s Pub. A quiet relaxing neighborhood with canal access right in the backyard. My parents and our daughter stayed upstairs while my husband and I slept downstairs. Plenty of space for 5. Only negative is the downstairs is way hotter than upstairs. The people upstairs freeze while trying to keep it somewhat comfortable downstairs. Communication with the owner was excellent. I highly recommend the Otter’s Pub 😊

Nice little 2/1 house in a great waterfront neighborhood. The 1/1 apartment downstairs was perfect for our 17 year old son. We enjoyed fishing from the dock in the evenings. Our primary issues with this house were the lack of any closets in any room and the lack of any cabinets to store groceries. The place was clean and well-appointed, but the upstairs bathroom smelled horrible. We smelled it the minute we entered the house. No amount of Frebreze helped, and we had to keep the door closed to keep it from stinking up the house. Would stay again next summer, but checking the rent, we're officially out-priced. Sad, because it was perfect for us.

We go to OBX yearly and first time staying on sound side. We loved the quiet neighborhood. The house was very clean and decorated nicely. Would love to stay here again. My husband and adult son loved being able to fish right off the back deck.

We loved our time at Otter's Pub. The house has everything you need, it's comfortable and cozy. It's also super convenient to be able to drop your kayak, paddle board, etc. in the canal and start paddling out into the sound.

Set in a quiet neighborhood on lovely canal. Property was clean and well maintained. Every amenity was provided. Do not have any reservations with this property or owner. We will stay at this property if available on our next visit.
