We stayed at casa Porvenir and el nido to celebrate new years. Luis and I stayed at casa porvenir and enjoyed the sound of the ocean, the gorgeous sunsets, it is a magical place. The kids stayed at la casita and they love it. We made arrangements with the staff to buy the groceries and cook for us, it was so delicious that we didnt go to any restaurant! Gladys the cook, made everything from scratch, healthy and delicious, and every day she prepared hand made tortillas. The rest of the staff is very atentive and the house is in very good shape. The owners worked for months with us making the arrengements and were very kind with us. We would love to go back for a romantic getaway or again with the kids. It was a great experience , i highly recomend the house

Our family of 4 (myself, husband, son (20) and daughter (18)) just returned from Troncones and loved every minute. The house was perfect in size, function, and was beautiful. We rented both houses which worked out well with the 2 older children. The kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable. Because of the road work there was no wifi but it was a true blessing. We played cards every night and reconnected as a family. I could easily return to the day of no internet or cell phones. Our kids were able to find wifi at café in town when the absolutely needed it which become less and less. My favorite part of the trip was the quality time we spent together as a family and meeting the wonderful locals in Troncones. Such nice friendly people. All the restaurants that were recommended by Jolene were fantastic. We ate at 2 of them twice because they were so good. We felt safe (never locked up anything!!) and very welcomed by the local. My husband and son went fishing with Samba and caught so much fish we had to give it away. They surfed right outside of the house which was very wonderful. We had no problems with anyone getting sick even though we ate out every night. The house was kept spotless by Gladys and she had dinner waiting for us on arrival. The beach was so beautiful and the water crystal clear (and warm !!) The whole family rated this trip as one of our top family vacations. My wife and I just returned for a weeklong stay at Casa Porvenir. We had the best time there. This is our third time staying there, and we are already itching to return. The home itself is so well-kept. The space is gorgeous. And it's right up against the beach. So we could hear the ocean 24/7, which is incredibly relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, plates, etc. All we needed to do was purchase food at the market in Zihuat on the way from the airport to Troncones. The house is well-kept by a woman who cleans the place daily and a gardener who is taking care of the beautiful gardens. We will be back.

My husband and I stayed at Casa Porvenir for two weeks back in March. One would think it's odd to write a review six months after the fact, however, the truth is, Casa Porvenir is unforgettable! So much so, that my husband and I have booked 2 additional stays for November and another for March of 2015. This place is a piece of heaven. Its location is perfect for long walks on the beach and a quick jaunt to Manzanillo Bay in for 'Big Boy' margaritas (the best I have ever had!). The house is very private despite the open air concept throughout and oozes authentic Mexican charm. There isn't an amenity you require as the home is fully stocked with every cooking utensil and appliance you could need. If you enjoy cooking, I'd be sure to take advantage of the fish and vegetable truck that passes every day. The selection of fish and sea food is caught the night before and deliciously fresh and the produce is perfect for giving Mexican cuisine a try. Be sure to ask the housekeeper to cook you a meal or two, she's a wonderful cook. The staff respects your privacy while providing for your every need and they keep the house and property immaculate. Wayne and Jolene, the owners, are wonderfully accommodating and go out of their way to make your stay relaxing and special. My only warning is 'be careful, you could fall in love with Casa Porvenir and Troncones', we certainly have.
