So many great things to say about Le Valle. Leading up to our stay, Barry and Jody were frequent contact, providing detailed information about the house and surrounding area. They were quick to respond to any question and gave well informed recommendations for restaurants, wineries, activities, and even parking in Florence! On the day of arrival, Santiago and Lucia, the property caretakers were there to meet us and give us the grand tour. A welcome dinner provided by chef Fabrizio was the perfect finish to our arrival day as he is both affable and a skilled chef. The property itself is located about 30 minutes from Florence and within approximately an hour of many notable towns like Siena and Volterra. The house is away from the hustle and bustle of Florence and basically in the countryside near Strada in Chianti. The house and guest house are as advertised and depicted in the listing. There entire property was ours and included a fantastic pool and multiple outdoor areas to relax. Wood burning pizza oven? Yep. Garden with countless tomatoes, basil, lettuce available to pick and eat? Yep. Plum tree with tasty fruit? Of course. The kitchen is well equipped including a top of the line espresso maker to provide the best espresso you could ask for. All the bed rooms have air conditioners and the guest house living room is also air conditioned. The main house living areas were cool enough even in the middle of the summer heat wave if you strategically kept the doors and windows closed during the middle of the day and opened the windows in the evenings. Santiago and Lucia were super friendly and always available for any issues. They provided basic cleaning and trash removal on most days. If you want to truly immerse yourself in storybook Tuscany, this is the place to go. Thanks to Barry and Jody for sharing their incredible estate!

When we rented La Valle we had high expectations based on the property description and it’s multiple 5 star reviews. But as we drove through the imposing gates and down the long winding driveway we knew that this property was going to vastly exceed our expectations. As we got out of our cars we were met by the “welcoming committee” who gave us refreshments and introduced us to the property. We were literally without words. The house and gardens were impeccable maintained and they are jaw dropping gorgeous. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating. The housekeeper, Valeria, was such a pleasure to be around she was so helpful. Fabricio the chef, who cooked our welcome meal, was nothing short of a exceptional. In fact that meal was so delicious and the experience so wonderful that we hired him to come back to cook for us later in the week. While at the property we were kept busy swimming in the beautiful marble-lined swimming pool, at the pizza oven, playing ping-pong, and taking hikes. The information that the owners left for us was so helpful. We were able to take wonderful day trips throughout the Chianti region, we visited several wineries and the cities of Pisa, Luca, Siena and Florence. But the best part was always coming back home to La Valle. And e e plan to come back again soon. We give this very special property our highest recommendation!!

My family and I had a truly special experience at La Valle. The house is beautiful and provided an ideal "home base" for all and the guest cottage was perfect for my cousin and her family - affording us all a bit of privacy when desired. The pool and gardens are gorgeous. We spent two weeks at the property, with many side trips to the charming villages and markets nearby. The house is in an ideal location for action-packed day trips to Sienna, Florence, wineries, etc. or for a quick trip to a local market for a picnic and relaxing day by the pool. The hosts are extraordinarily generous with information about things nearby to do and see. Suffice to say: The wonders of La Valle defy complete description - you'll just have to go and experience this magical place for yourself!

We had the most terrific time at this villa. The property managers were so lovely and we had great visits with them. The villa was so special because Fabrizio and Valeria made it so special. We had a heat wave but the pool made it bearable.

This property is nothing short of breathtaking. From the moment you pull up to this majestic place with it’s regal gateway, you are instantly transported to a Tuscan dream! The house is impeccably kept, and perfectly located near all the best wineries and restaurants. The interior design of the house is perfect for the setting. Waking up to a coffee overlooking the hills, hiking the scenic grounds, or sitting near the pool with a glass of wine—these are experiences you’ll never forget! I could write a whole separate review on the outdoor wood fire pizza oven, but suffice it to say, one of the very best parts of our trip! I would stay at this property over and over again, and strongly recommend it to anyone who wants an authentic and memorable Tuscan experience :)

We had wonderful stay at Le Valle. It has stunning views of the Tuscan countryside along with a breathtaking pool setting, relaxing porches and a beautiful gardens. The inside of the villa has been completely renovated with the finest materials and touches. The staff is second to none and couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. Peter and Maggie are wonderful care takers that made sure we were comfortable. they were always happy to answer questions and help us with daily plans. Valeria, the house keeper, couldn't have been more friendly. She went out of her way to help make our stay more than we could have ever hoped for. Fabrizio, the chef is an absolute gem. We have not had better meals anywhere in the world. If you are staying at this property, you need to utilize Fabrizio. The property is also very close to Florence and Sienna making day trips very easy. There are multiple little villages/towns with restaurants and grocery options nearby as well. Our trip to Le Valle was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we engaged Barry and Jody on the planning, the level of detail, professionalism and personal touch was second to none. When we arrived at Le Valle, we were greeted by Peter and Magi who not only run the property with an unmatched level of service and attention, they quickly became dear friends. The same is true for Valeria who kept the villa immactulate and the amazing chef, Fabrizio, whose creations we are still drearming about on a daily basis. We cannot say enough about the incredible service and support. The villa was everything we imagined and more....so beautifully restored and the furnishings were stunning. The property itselfis a slice of heaven on earth...private, serene and incredible views of the rolling hills of Tuscany. The location was perfect, far enough out for privacy yet close enough for excurions to nearby villages and of course Florence! We loved every minute and the only issue is that our stay was too short. We hope to have the opportunity to visit again one day. For our last family holiday before the kids went off to college, this is one that will have a permanent place in our hearts. We had a wonderful stay at Le Valle! The property and location are fabulous, as well as all of the people that you have involved. The kids loved the gardens and fruit trees around the property! And of course the pool. We also really enjoyed our pizza making w/ Fabrizio the Chef. Thank you for the various recommendations in the area! We spent a great day having a wine tour in Montalcino. We also spent a beautiful afternoon in San Gimignano, as well as a nice bike ride in Lucca on our way from Portofino. The dinner recommendation was super in Lamole and the lunch was fantastic in Greve. Florence was only a 30 min drive, which we did on 2 occasions. Great 1 ½ hr. private tour to the Academia and a trip to the top of the Duomo that the kids enjoyed.

Beautiful villa with amazing views of Tuscany! It was hot and the pool was a perfect way to cool off plus had very comfortable lounge chairs. We stayed in the guest house, which was very comfortable and also had a/c. The main house did not have a/c but did stay comfortable considering the summer heat. The people that took care of the villa during our stay were also very nice and helpful in guiding us.

The Villa was extraordinary. Amazing old house perfectly renovated with all modern amenities on an American standard - large washer, dryer, fridge, freezer, alarm system, stereo and TV. Beautiful views of vineyards and olive groves. Gorgeous landscaping. Antique furniture. Amazing pool perfect for relaxation at end of a day trip. Only 15 miles outside of Florence - about 45 minute drive including parking. Perfectly situated for wonderful day trip sightseeing. Daily maid service delivered by a charming housekeeper. Only problem is that many rooms are not air-conditioned but the pool more than made up for that. More than what we had even hoped for.

We spent a week long vacation with extended family at Le Valle. We were greeted by Peter and Magi, who immediately made us feel at home. The property is absolutely amazing, no detail is overlooked, and everything is maintained to the highest standards. The grounds are manicured to perfection and the saltwater pool is great. The villa is very modern and comfortable all while preserving the character and charm of Tuscany. It is conveniently and centrally located for exploring Tuscany. We rented a car and went on day trips/wine tours every day. On shorter days, it was so nice to come home and relax by the pool and dine on the outdoor patio. Fabrizio, the chef, is such a treat. He is so gracious and accommodating, and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is satisfied. He came to the villa 3 times, and cooked for us some unforgettable meals, and those were the most relaxed evenings. Finally, Valeria, the housekeeper, is also very kind and warm, and makes sure the house clean and organized, without being intrusive. We will for sure be back!!

The property was absolutely gorgeous. The villa and the guest house had Italian character mixed with modern amenities. The view was stunning. There is plenty to do in and around the property. There is a pool, ping pong table, trails to hike, and many nearby towns to visit. There is also a collection of movies to watch. The house itself is comfortable, spacious, and luxurious. There are many bedrooms which all have extremely comfortable beds. The water was high, hot pressured, and clean. It's a wonderful experience staying at the villa. Highly recommended for all ages. Our family of 4 (14 and 16 year old children) found the villa to be perfectly located. Being in the wine country allowed us to take day trips to nearby towns and then have a perfect home and swimming pool to enjoy and discuss our daily adventures. Our trip started in Rome for 5 days, then went to Le Valle for a week, and then concluded in Venice for 3 days. No question about it, everyone in my family loved our time at Le Valle by far the best. We will definitely come back soon. Barry and Jody took very good care setting everything up for us. Once we arrived, we were met by the local property managers (Peter and Maggi) and they were always available within minutes if we needed anything. The housekeeper (Valeria) was amazing. She came every morning and took great care of us. One thing that I would highly recommend for anyone staying at the villa would be to hire Barry's chef (Fabrizio) for an additional night and have him give you a cooking lesson. Cooking isn't my thing but I have to admit, it was an amazing evening and my wife and kids loved it as well. Thanks for everything Barry and Jody - we had a great time! La Valle exceeded all our expectations. The property is magnificent - it really does look just like the pictures. It's also located in the middle of spectacular wine country just a short drive from Florence. Our group of 8 (spanning ages 18 to 78) utilized both the main house and the guest house and were very comfortable in the accommodations. The setting is perfect for a family vacation. You can be as laid back or as active as you want to be. You can spend hours touring the charming local villages and vineyards or going to the designer outlet mall for bargain shopping. It's all very close. But you can also spend the day relaxing by the pool and making pizza in the outdoor pizza oven. There's also table tennis, a large collection of games and videos, a beautifully equipped kitchen and an espresso machine to die for. Although we enjoyed trying various local restaurants and eating at a couple hot spots in Florence, our fondest memories will be of dining at the property on the outdoor patios. You simply can't beat the setting. For anyone seeking an unforgettable trip to Chianti, Le Valle is the place to be.

This is a lovely property with a most magnificent, uninterrupted view over the Chianti Hills, just 25 mins south of Florence. You are in the countryside, yet just a stones throw from the art, culture and metro buzz of Firenze. We had a fabulous week. A family of five with three early teens, we knew the area well but found the house just perfect for us. Plenty to do for the kids; table tennis, swimming, great tv and video room and a super kitchen with all you could need to rustle up delicious dinners from the great food producers so renowned in this Tuscan region of Italy. The wood-fired pizza oven was a massive hit and often used as were the many thoughtfully placed wining and dining spots dotted around the property. The pool area is just gorgeous, tranquil and nicely positioned away, but not too far, from the house. The interior of the property is decorated in a traditional manner with antiques and carefully chosen furniture and art pieces. The bathrooms are nicely appointed and, unusually for Italy, everything works impeccably well! Le Valle is well laid out and has a separate guest villa which we used for a visiting family of three for a couple of nights. This is a great addition if you like your friends but love your space! Peter and Magi, as has been mentioned below are a super couple who look after the property for the owners. Peter's enthusiasm for the region is infectious and he is on hand with some thoughtful recommendations for winery tours and days out. We had a great time, we really did and, like so many others, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone. Thank you Barry and Jody.

We stayed at Le Valle to celebrate our 60th Birthday the week of July 23, 2016. We brought our adult children and their spouses too. To say the property is luxurious is an understatement. The furnishings, art collection, baths, kitchen (indoors and outdoors) are all of museum quality. As we were shown around the property by The Worlds Most Gracious Hosts, Peter and Magi, we felt that we must have surely passed the FBI background check that should be required of any person renting this property. It's that nice. The owners Barry and Jody have created a magical place of relaxation and beauty. The fact that they share it, is truly unbelievable. The private chef Fabrizio and his meals are also very special and not to be missed. The property is incredibly well situated for wine tourism and the nearby village of Greve seems to be some epicenter of Chianti. I would recommend this property without qualification to any traveler who enjoys luxury amenities with country ambiance.

We spent a week at Le Valle in June 2016 to celebrate our parents 75th birthdays. My Mother has wanted to stay in a villa in Italy for the last 10 years and our entire family (10 people) comfortably fit into the home and fully enjoyed our time there. The home and it's amenities, surroundings, and hospitality all exceeded our expectations. The house is impeccably decorated and very comfortable, and the kitchen, which we used, was a wonderful muse to inspire our creations. Barry, the owner, affectionately referred to my Brother and I as the "Pizzaiolo brothers" since we made good use of the wood-burning pizza oven and grill and our kids became adept baristas with the professional-grade espresso machine. Fabrizio, our gracious chef created both an amazing welcome dinner and lunch during our stay. We were amazed at his ability to create and serve such wonderful dishes by himself. All recommended wineries, restaurants and tours did not disappoint, and we feel that the direct connection to the American owners with all thier insight into the area made the stay even more special. We ventured up and down route SR222 and got lost in the beauty, tastes and smells of the Italian country side. The home's location was perfect to fully experience the Tuscany region. We will always remember our stay at Le Valle, recommend it highly, and will absolutely stay there again. We can't thank Barry and Jodi enough for letting us enjoy their home. Highest regards....

Every dreamed about going back hundreds of years and being dropped into a villa in Tuscany? Well, if the answer is yes, this place is for you. This villa has all that and then some to spark your imagination as you sit back and watch the sunset over rolling hills with a glass of Sangiovese. My wife and I had our honeymoon here and it was everything we could have hoped for! The villa itself is so stunning; we found ourselves starring at each room several times during the day. The stonework and wood beams throughout the house symbolize character and strength. You can tell that Barry and Jody (property owners) went through great pains to "modernize" this villa and turn it into a home, their home, which they generously share with others. The decor is just right, every room makes you feel welcomed and if you think the villa is impressive, check out the furniture. I personally enjoyed the kitchen as I like to cook and did so twice, once inside and once outside on the grill. Yes, there is a grill and pizza oven too! However, if this is not for you, give Fabrizio a call. He's a chef that comes highly recommended. He's a master of his craft and he even showed us how to make "parmigiano bowls". We had his cooking the first night and it lasted us about three days...it was pure heaven, no exaggeration! So, what else does this villa have to offer? Glad you asked. Amazing pool with a view, pergola with grapevines begging you to pick at them, many different herbs/fruits/vegetables around the villa (rosemary, apples, olives, beans, tomatoes, etc.) pulling your nose in every direction, espresso machine, SAT TV/BOSE system, ping pong table and many table games. Moving along, my beautiful new bride and I rented a car and we explored many different places during our week long stay. We visited Florence (~ 20 minutes) away, went to Siena (~ 40 minutes away), toured two castles in the area (Verrazzano & Gabbiano) and ate at several local restaurants. The drive on the "curvy" country roads was fun for us too, what a view! So in short, this villa is very accessible to many different places. Special thanks to Peter and Magi (property managers for Barry and Jody). They greeted us the first day and gave us the grand tour of the villa and live only a short distance away should anything come up. Also, Valeria (housekeeper) came every morning to make the beds, clean the dishes and freshen up the house. She is very sweet! Thank you everyone from the bottom of our hearts, WHAT A HONEYMOON!
