We had a wonderful time on this stunning property. So much wildlife to watch and scenery to look at. My son and husband loved the hot tub. And my puppies loved the big yard to run in. Having the fence in the back made me feel better letting them run and play. The layout of the house was perfect for us. The location is so close to town that last minute dinner plans were a cinch. Thank you Bill for a perfect stay.

We only had a short stay, but enjoyed every minute of it! Love the well maintained house & surroundings and spent hours in the secluded pool and hot tub. Just delightful!

Property was as expected. Rustic yet serviceable in a great location. However, check-in process and owner provided rental agreement came very late in the process with some marginal expectations. Owner was willing to work through any objections which ultimately led to a good stay for our group.

We have stayed in several homes in Woodstock. Nothing comes close to this house. The setting is beautiful. The house is spacious and very comfortable. The hot tub, pool and deck were in constant use when we were not off on an adventure. The owner was not only gracious and accomodating, but was fun to deal with! I hope he let's us come back!

We loved the house and the location was perfect. Bill was more than helpful for any questions that we had. Woodstock is a beautiful town and the house is 5 minutes away. The fenced in yard was great for our two pups! And the house was spacious for our family of 6!

So peaceful and so close to town. We loved our stay. The kids woke up to deer walking by the first morning, they played basketball, and ping pong. We woke up, had coffee by the stream and then relaxed in the hot tub. The home has everything you need for a relaxing stay and all instructions are clear. This home is so close into Woodstock, we had dinner at Goodnight, bought the best meat to grill at Woodstock Meats and stopped by our favorite home goods store Beck. We would love to come back when it’s pool season. Bill was also very responsive.

We loved staying at this property. It is a unique property inside and out with everything well thought out. The two sides of the house and the secret passageways made it extra exciting for the kids (12 & 14). Sitting at the big table looking out the windows was very relaxing every morning. The instructions are very detailed and helpful. We also enjoyed the deer visiting each day (as did our dog). We hope to come back again - it was a perfect location for what we enjoy doing in the area.

We loved our stay at this property - a classic "Woodstock" house with character and charm. For our family of 4, we all had our own space! Great piece of property and close proximity to town and restaurants. Kitchen was well stocked for all cooking and baking needs.

This home was just what we needed for our family. The location is ideal. Very private property with wonderful views of the nature-filled wooded backyard. Just a quick drive into Woodstock’s Tinker St. Kitchen was well stocked and bedding was very nice. My sons loved watching the deer out the giant windows.

We loved this rental. The weather was perfect. The beds were comforable, and everything we needed was provided. The evenings were terrific, sitting on the deck and enjoying a cocktails and chatting while we looked at the stars. We played Trivial Pursuit to hours of laughter. Morning coffee was met with deer walking the property. The brook was a beautiful backdrop to bagels and cream cheese. The afternoons were filled with swimming in the pool and looking for restaurants for dinner. We turned our mini vacation into a foodie few days. Silvia the first night. American flair that was so good. You will not be disappointed. A bit pricy but worth the experience. Next night Cucina an Italian restaurant that was just wonderful. We sat on the porch with a slight breeze and twinkle lights. The food was fantastic. Please order the burrata salad you won't be disappointed. Our last night was a delightful experience at Good Night, an Asian infused menu with fantastic drinks and our server Phoebe was just terrific. All and all I would say I can't wait to go back.

Bill's house is spacious, spotlessly clean, with big windows/a lot of natural sunlight, and in a gorgeous remote location with a literal babbling brook nearby. Sitting in the hot tub with snow on the ground was an amazing experience that I highly recommend. Bill is extremely responsive, took care to provide long lists of local recommendations, and is diligent in maintaining the cleanliness of his house. Although it may initially seem like he has a lot of house rules, this is something that I very much appreciate in a host, as it makes me feel all the more confident that I'm staying in a truly clean and well maintained environment.

Great house with everything you might need, amazingly comfortable beds, close to town. Host is helpful, quick to reply, and accommodating. Hope to come back sometime!

This lovely home was the perfect escape for a group of friends on a gorgeous fall weekend. Just minutes from town, it felt like a mountain retreat: babbling brook, warm fireplace, hot tub, comfy living spaces, and cozy blankets. The host was incredibly accommodating and provided all the local tips and info you could need. We can't wait to return.

Very much enjoyed our stay at Fern Hollow. It’s a beautiful property. The house has many large picture windows - almost feels like you are sitting in a forest. It was great to come home from a hike and relax in the heated pool and hot tub. The owner was very communicative. Any questions we had he was quick to respond. He made the rental process quite easy.

Bill set us up perfectly for a wonderful weekend. With thoughtful touches and helpful notes he made the check in process and stay seamless. The house and property are beautiful, exactly as pictured, and close to town. Would 100% recommend!

The location might have been enough (completely private and immersed in nature but 7 minutes from town) but the house itself was perfect for our needs. The pool deck with audible stream nearby was a highlight. As were all the deer. Would definitely stay here again.

We biked to Woodstock center a few times, which is less than 2 miles away- the restaurants and shops there can’t be beat!We recommend this home wholeheartedly, and are already looking for an excuse to come back.

The house was in great shape, lovely property, everything better than the listing (photos don’t do it justice). Bill really takes care of his guests and his property. We look forward to coming back for a longer stay in the summer.

A small river/creek runs by, and our dogs could not get enough during the morning walks along the water. Inside, the house is immaculate - well kept, well stocked. A truly perfect weekend getaway.

We enjoyed our stay at Fern Hollow. The location is perfect. We explored the property, the nearby town and went on local (about 15 to 30 minutes away) hikes in the snow to beautiful waterfalls. It was so beautiful to hear the sound of the stream that runs along side of the house. The house is quaint, picturesque, charming... We enjoyed all the amenities such as the fireplace and the hot tub. We cooked several wonderful meals in the well equipped kitchen. The owner was very pleasant. He was great at making clear his expectations which were easy to follow. He responded to our questions promptly. We would highly recommend staying at Fern Hollow and hope if we are ever in town again that we are able to return. Thank you, Bill! Take Care.

We had a really nice time in this home in a winter wonderland. The house was well kept up and there was even a ping pong table for the kids. The hot tub was great after skiing. The owner was super responsive.

Our family of 4 including 2 young adult children stayed at Fern Hollow for a post-holiday winter getaway. Due to COVID, other than a couple short hikes, we stayed put enjoying the scenery and wildlife visible through the plentiful/large windows throughout the house. We spent our days reading, playing games, puzzling, using the hot tub and relaxing by the cozy wood stove/fireplace and our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer to enjoy the tranquility. The house is well decorated and stocked with everything needed for cooking and comfort, and the layout of the house allows for both privacy and togetherness. We greatly appreciated Bill's flexibility in accommodating several unanticipated last minute schedule changes and his prompt and helpful communications with us throughout our stay. We hope to return some time when we have fewer restrictions and can more fully enjoy the cute shops and restaurants in Woodstock as well as the plentiful opportunities for outdoor adventuring. Fern Hollow is a gem - we highly recommend!

In a word, would stay there again for sure. Everyone loved the pool and hot tub, visits from deer, spacious living and sleeping areas, and ideal location. The home has everything you will need from kitchen supplies to entertainment equipment to online technology, not to mention the basketball hoop in the lower driveway. Bill was an excellent host, appropriately careful about his property and helpful in every way. Thanks Bill.

Our family enjoyed the property and the Woodstock area. The house was well appointed and in good shape. Bill was very responsive through the entire process and great to deal with! The dogs loved the trip and hiking through the creek and the kids spent all of their time in the pool.

We had a great long weekend at this property. The house was roomy and laid out to allow a bit of privacy or a big group dinner for our group of adults. Amenities were exactly as described and included all we needed. It was great to have the place stocked with firewood and the kitchen basics. Instructions were posted for anything that might be tricky like electronics, thermostats, the fire place, etc. We chose to stay in, read, cook, and relax but the town of Woodstock is right there if you wanted to get out for a meal or just wander. Bill was communicative you make sure we had what we needed and that arrival and departure were smooth.

Take a step back from the stress of everyday life, or in my case just move it to another location, where it doesn’t seem as intense. I left my 2 bed 2 bath in LIC to get away with my one year old and hubby for a birthday weekend and it was incredible. We hiked in the woods exploring during the day and then stayed up at night sipping wine and playing trivia pursuit (supplied by the home owner) and I felt like I was 21 again just laughing and relaxing by a fire. You can’t put a price on this kind of peace. Owners are great and the home is immaculate and filled with personality.

Quintessential Woodstock. Tucked away in bucolic scenery but super convenient to town. Roomy and full of character. Bill was responsive and helpful. Can’t wait to return.

We had such a wonderful time in the pool and the hotub. Being able to bring our doggies was so special. It was nice and secluded and perfect distance to downtown Woodstock. We enjoyed playing ping pong everyday lol. Bill was very nice and accommodating. Very grateful for our time there.
