As a fellow beach condo renter, I know there is not much you can do (besides contact every government official who represents you) about the neighborhood - but the homeless encampments from just past Ko’Olina to Makaha were appalling. I felt safe in the building and on the beach, but worrying about theft on my vacation should not be a priority. Your condo had everything we needed and such an incredible view which we enjoyed throughout our stay. Enjoyed snorkeling and sunning.

We were looking for something away from the run of the mill touristy areas and we got it. We cooked each night as there aren’t many restaurants around and we were fine with that. They have local markets we could purchase all we needed. The view from the balcony was breath taking. The water being so close made for relaxing on the beach a daily event. The apartment has all you need for the beach including umbrellas and chairs. The times we needed to contact the owner, we received immediate response. Great stay overall!

Great place to relax

The condo unit has everything you need for a relaxing stay as close to the beach as possible. We checked in after midnight and the night guard was waiting for us at the door and made sure we were ok getting to our unit. The local Tamura grocery/household store was a close drive for about anything you'd need. The beach is incredibly beautiful. Big wave action some days. Never crowded and chairs, umbrella and beach towels are all in the unit. Well done!

We really enjoyed staying in this lovely condo. Clean and well managed. We will definitely stay there again.

A mother daughter trip to a beautiful beach and lovely condo. Our host was very accommodating and Always available if we needed anything. Memories my mom and i will always cherish.

The view of the ocean from not only the balcony but inside the room is amazing. You can cook breakfast and watch the waves roll in at the same time. The ocean is right there. The beach was well kept and pretty quiet, which was nice. There is not a lot of nice restaurants nearby but if you don’t mind cooking for yourself its not a problem. Also there are a couple of propane grills at ground level that well kept for you to use.

First thing - the property was clean - esp. the bathroom - made a whole lot of difference! No insects or roaches - which was the case in other places we'd stayed in Oahu and Maui. Next, the kitchen - lots of pots, pans, cutlery, plates, etc. Next - communication: Gerry is prompt in responding and resolving the issues. We didn't meet him in person, but it wasn't necessary, he always responded :) About other positives, the Hawaiin Princess property felt very safe - all entry/exit are secured and require key. While there is a 24x7 security guard, during our stay, the area in general felt safe. The people we met at Grocery store (Tamura) and at restaurants nearby were friendly and welcoming. Yes, there are homeless people by the beach, etc., but they didn't bother us. They didn't wander into the beach area of the property either. Though the beach is open to public, it seemed private - only folks from the properties seemed to be using it. Only minor thing was the day-bed - wasn't comfortable, after emailing Gerry, discovered the airbed, which was way better. And, oh, the commute - since Makaha is on the West end of the island, and most of the places to visit are on the Windward side, you will be driving a lot - through school zone with speeds of 25mph, though the locals don't seem to follow it that stritcly :) Then again, it is Hawaii, so if you take it easy and relaxed, and you will enjoy the drive too. When we visit Oahu again, we will definitely stay here.

The photos don't lie - this condo and beach are every bit as amazing as they look. We snorkelled with turtles, played pickle ball, swam in the pool, and spent hours enjoying the sun at the beach. The condo is nicely appointed and has everything you need to relax, cook a delicious meal or spend time outdoors.

The condo was the perfect vacation place for our little family. It is right on the beach for fun beach days but also had a pool when the ocean was too rough to swim in. We also enjoyed the on-site BBQ’s for cooking family dinners after long days out in the sun. The condo was well equipped, and the views were stunning. Gerry was so wonderful to deal with and was very accommodating. We miss it already and can’t wait to go back.

We wanted a beach front stay away from city life and this was just what we wanted. Ocean front on a very clean sandy beach with no crowds. The condo was clean and had everything we needed. Nice pool and hot tub that we used most days. We enjoyed morning coffee on the lanai most days, and watched sunsets over dinner. Happy that there were elevators, and carts for groceries and luggage to make things easy. Nice bbq area. 24 hour security and complex is gated. I’ve been to all the islands and this was one of the best places I’ve stayed for the ocean proximity and views.

What a great little condo right on the beach. Enjoy your coffee on the balcony overlooking the ocean and listen to the waves as you peacefully sleep at night. We were there for a family wedding so the location for us was perfect.

Our second island to visit on our honeymoon. The secluded area, beach and condo were so awesome. We really enjoyed everything.

Amazing place for families of all ages to enjoy.

The view is stunning! With the beautiful beach right at the building, what a great place to stay! Comes with all the things we need, including beach gears! Bed in the room was very comfortable. The only thing needs updating would be the sofa bed. It was sloping to one end, mattress was thin and could feel the bars when lying down. Overall a fantastic place to stay!

Beautiful,peaceful bay! Sitting on patio in mornings was heaven, watching the waves, spotting turtles. Gerry has a very comfortable and beautiful home. We had everything we needed to enjoy a week of sun, surf and relaxation. Thank you for the use of all the beach equipment. Also it was nice to be able to cook in such a well stocked kitchen. Thank you!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights of our 7 night trip to Oahu for our anniversary. We stayed in Waikiki the first 4 nights of our trip. We wish we had stayed in this condo longer! The condo is updated, clean, well decorated, and has everything you need! The beach right outside is beautiful and quiet. The condo had boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrella, small cooler, and beach towels for us to use. We need it to be cool to sleep at night - we left the lanai doors and the bedroom windows open and the breeze coming in was amazing and so relaxing and comfortable! There were a few amazing beaches just a short drive north of the condo too that are worth a visit. We want to come back soon and stay at this condo for the whole week!

We really loved the place. If we vome back to Oahu, we would want to stay there. It was clean, quiet and a perfect location.

This was a great place to stay. Everything was just as expected. Gerry was easy to communicate with and quick to respond to any questions. We had most of the beach to ourselves and the water was perfect most days. A little too rough to swim for us beginners on a stormy day. We had a turtle swim right underneath us! Having all of the beach supplies is a real plus- you hardly ever find a rental that provides so much equipment. We appreciated the Aerobed that was available so we didn’t have take the sofa apart every night for the kids to sleep on. Thanks Gerry for a great stay!

Great location on a beach, nice property, delightful sunsets. Oahu has too many homeless living on beaches, too much garbage and rubbish, and dreadful drivers and traffic jams.

The apartment is renovated and decorated well but the best feature is being so close to the water. My kids were shocked with how close we were and how the waves crashing on the beach 4 stories below was so intense. I'm Mr. safety but the sound was so wonderful we left the sliding glass door open whenever we were home and even all night long. It was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our family of 3 had an incredible stay. The views of the sunset are amazing. The beach just outside was such a treat to wake up to each day. We checked out a few more beaches on the island, but the one the resort sits on was our favorite, and not just because of how convenient it was. During our trip at least, this side if the island had more sun and less wind than everywhere else. It is such a great location! This condo came fully stocked with everything we needed to enjoy the trip! From the fully loaded kitchen, to the complete beach gear, it just had everything. The lanai was the best. I loved enjoying my coffee here every morning. The parking was a little slim picking the first night we arrived (around 11pm) with only one spot left, but at least there was a spot for us. After that first night there was never a concern about parking. We can't wait to return to this hidden gem!

We enjoyed our stay at Makaha. The unit was as advertised. Sunsets and ocean view from the balcony were fantastic. The sound of the ocean was enjoyable and relaxing and having easy access to the clean quiet beach was great. If you want a relaxing place away from Honolulu we would recommend staying here.
