We loved the cottage and everything about it. "At Last" is very appropriate as a name for the cottage as well especially when a vacation is much needed and you pull in and are there "At Last" and everything is perfect from that point on. We rented linens which provided bed clothes and towels for baths and kitchen. Jean can recommend a linen rental place if you like. The kitchen was well stocked with all the necessities for cooking and snacking and even baking, with a Keurig for your coffee needs. If you don't have your own beach chairs and such that you bring with you there is even a lot of that stuff there for your use but make sure you follow the few rules that there are and leave the cottage like you found it or better so you and others can continue to enjoy this gem. The hostess and owners are just the best. I would definitely recommend "At Last" to anyone looking for a wonderful cottage to hide-a-way in for a week or two or more.

We absolutely loved our stay! Everything about “At Last” was perfect for us! The walk to the beach was literally a minute! Jean was the sweetest, most perfect host. We fell in love with Topsail Island and we are frequent “gulf goers!” Also, highly recommend Britiany for renting bedsheets as it was so easy! We will definitely be back!

My family and I very much enjoyed our stay here. It was comfortable, clean, and a wonderful location for us. We especially loved the back porch!
We opted to bring our own linens (sheets and towels), but the owner does have a linen service recommendation if you’d prefer that.
The booking process was a little more involved than I’m used to (printing off a contract, signing it, and mailing to owner), but she was very generous and accommodating and simplified the process for me. In the long run, given the very reasonable price of the rental, it was worth the extra booking steps. Would recommend!

We had an awesome time. The house is beautiful and a couple of steps from the beach. Jean is the rental agent and she is fantastic. I had I great week with my wife and sons and our friends Topsail is a great place and this is a great home to experience it from.

This house is perfect for a mid size group, outside area is GREAT. This is our second year at the same house, hopefully we will be able to go back again. Access to the beach is wonderful. Communication with the owner was amazing.

Our family with four children absolutely loved every aspect of our stay! Perfect location, just two houses down from the beach, with beach access directly across from the road. House had every amenity desired. Master bedroom upstairs with a balcony, Perfect for adults. Two bedrooms downstairs with a bathroom with plenty of sleeping spaces for the kids. Outdoor shower clean and easily accessible and lots of space outside to hose off and clean up after the beach. Relaxing private and spacious patio, enclosed with nets for evening relaxation.

Property was exactly as described! Beautiful house! View from Master Bedroom deck was amazing! Loved the set up of the home. Was perfect for my family. The walk to the beach was so quick! There were beach boards and chairs! We bought a few and left them for others to enjoy!! Lucky to have found this property! We had an amazing 2 weeks!! Jean was so quick to respond to my questions! Hopefully we can stay there again next year!!

Overall GREAT experience. Location is very quiet but still close to everything. It filled my heart to see my 3 year old grandson on his first visit to the beach. The house was clean and well kept, the kitchen has everything you need to stay in and cook family meals for all. Plenty of sleeping space for everyone. Thanks for allowing us to use your home.

Clean, Close, and Comfortable!
We had a great week here! The home is very clean. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well appointed. The description on VRBO was accurate. The property owner/manager was very friendly and easy to reach. The walk to the beach was very short. It's actually closer than it looks online. We loved having the master bedroom upstairs and the kids' bedrooms downstairs. Perfect space for our week by the sea. We would definitely stay here again!

Terrific Long Weekend
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend stay at "At Last." Great location, with only steps to the beach. The house is on a canal street, but with the maritime forrest and live oaks in the back, you feel like you are in your own private retreat. Jean was extremely kind, communicative, and accommodating and made our stay a breeze. It was the last week of the season and we had perfect weather and low crowds. Enjoyed a steamer pot from Topsail Steamers, which I highly recommend. Beds were comfortable, water pressure great, and couldn't have had a better weekend. Thanks again, and we will definitely be back!

Clean, cozy, and convenient
We just arrived home from our vacation and I could not wait to get online to write this review: we had a fabulous time at "At Last"! The beds were comfortable, the quick walk to the beach was amazing, the porches were divine, and the property was pristine! So clean! Not a grain of sand on the floor from the previous renters when we arrived, bathrooms were clean and not "sandy", even the decorative items on top of the kitchen cabinets were dust-free! We can't wait to return!

Nice home that's a short walk from the beach - 4.5 stars
This home is in a great location with quiet neighbors and reasonably priced. The manager was very responsive. The beds were comfortable. We did not make as much use of the screened-in porch as we planned because it was a bit stuffy back there and not as well ventilated as the front porch (ceiling fans could remedy this). I'd advise bringing a sweater because in order to keep the upstairs at a reasonable temperature, the downstairs would often feel chilly when the thermostat was set to 75. Pro tip: for the red-flag days (we had 4 out of 7), you can head to the tip of the island--there's a small public access parking lot--to swim in the super-calm sound or drive to the Wilmington area for calmer/warmer ocean swimming. The only DVD player is upstairs in the master bedroom, which is not ideal for family watching, so if DVDs are important to your group, you might want to bring your own player.

Great beach vacation
The pictures do not do it justice...the beach is even closer than it seems in the pictures. The house was as pictured, very comfortable. Love the beachy decorations. The upstairs bedroom was a bit on the warm side, which is kind of expected in July! The first floor, however, stayed cool with the air conditioner. The kitchen is the only area we were not thrilled with. We bought a knife sharpener because all knives were quite dull; that is probably because there is only a glass cutting board. We also neglected to bring kitchen towels/dishcloths. As a family with 6 adults, we planned all our meals at home. I would bring my favorite frying pan, pot, cooking sheet, cutting board, knife, (large) mixing bowl and kitchen towels. Jean stayed in touch as we were there the week the Storm Elsa came. We were glad to get her info on what to expect during a storm. I would absolutely stay there again.

We really enjoyed the home "At Last," it was a short wall to the beach but the back deck gave you a country feeling. The house was well equipped with every thing we needed. We love Topsail, we've been coming for about 7 years and this was definitely our favorite rental! We definitely rent again. No complaints!
