The property is simply gorgeous. When meeting the "caretaker," we were also met with deer nearby. We had a beautiful scenic drive to the property.

What an absolutely beautiful property. We loved that it was a separate building from the main house. It had the charm of a cozy vacation home with all the important amenities that are expected from a hotel such as fresh coffee, an ironing board, soaps, lotions, luggage stands, towels, etc.
The deer, squirrels, and woodpeckers were fun to watch while sipping on morning coffee! Phoebe and TK were very welcoming and it was so thoughtful for them to have a bottle of wine waiting for us as well as a pack n play for our 10 month old.
Our only surprise (and this was on us!) was that it was a lot further away from our destination than we expected. We were in town for a family event in Coloma, about 40 minutes away. This property is rural, in the hills up a windy road. So just keep that in mind with your planning - it's a bit of a drive into the nearest town for groceries and other essentials.
We would 100% stay here again - it would have been wonderful if we had booked an extra day so we could have really explored the surrounding scenery!!

We rented this for our 8th wedding anniversary, and could not be more pleased with our stay.
My wife wanted to get away, see some fall foliage and do some apple picking. We were more successful with the latter than the former - I think we were about a week early on the foliage.
Bonus though was all the animals we saw - from woodpeckers to squirrels, to wild turkeys to quails, and a tremendous number of deer of all sizes - big antlered bucks to babies. My wife was in heaven.
The hosts generously provided us with a lovely bottle of Zinfandel wine, worried about us when we arrived much later than we expected and were responsive to all communications. They could not have been better hosts.
The home was spotless and a joy to relax in. We hope to get back there soon.

My husband stayed here the night before our wedding and really enjoyed the property. His groomsmen, my dad, and my step dad joined hims the next morning to get ready and take some fun photo with the photographer and videographer. The property was clean and well suited to his stay. The property manager was easy to communicate with and prompt. I would highly recommend this listing.

We loved this property. The setting was beautiful, the accommodations spacious and the owners were responsive to our needs. We definitely plan to stay there again.

The house and the owners were both amazing. Looked even better in person than it did online. Clean, spacious, comfortable, and just a few minutes away from the venue for the wedding I traveled out there for. I can't think of a single thing I didn't enjoy about it.
One of the owners gave me the rundown when I arrived (how to adjust/turn on heat/AC, TV remotes, directions to local shops, etc.), told me to contact them if I needed anything, and then they let me be. Cannot thank them enough or think of a single negative thing to say.

Planned a little trip for the wife's birthday. We had a great stay and enjoyed our time here. Very quiet and serene location. The hosts are very nice and accommodating.

The location of this property was perfect for us, out of the way and secluded. Phoebe made the entire process very easy. From the booking to the arrival to our departure she & TK made it a breeze. The house was welcoming and very comfortable. We like the ability to cook our own meals and pack snacks for a day of wine tasting. Nothing better than waking up enjoying a cup of coffee and watching deer wander across the property. If you want a quite, comfortable stay in wine country that’s away from Main Street you can’t do much better than Phoebe’s place. We’ll be back.

We cam back for our daughter's wedding. The location is great for being close to beautiful wineries, grocery store and gas station. It's very peaceful and beautiful. We now call it our place when we visit Amador Valley area.

Great location with amazing views, peaceful setting and lots of wildlife. The cottage is decorated really nice, lots of privacy and has everything that you need for a relaxing stay. The hosts are awesome too. Available when you need them and respectful of your privacy as well. Great experience. Thank you

Great place in the middle of so many things to do. Spent time in amador wine tasting, doing all the things fall at Apple hill, and exploring shops in Placerville. House was well stocked sign everything you would need to have dinner in.

We came during a heat wave and to our delight there is wonderful air conditioning. Quiet too. This property has the benefits both of being “away from it all” but also quite centrally located in the wine country of El Dorado and Amador counties. Communication with the host was very smooth, and this property was beautifully decorated and equipped with everything my husband and I needed. We would gladly stay here again the next time we travel to the area.

I reserved this location for my family to stay while visiting me from it of state. The entire process was 5star. No hiccups. And the place is gorgeous.

Wonderful getaway
We stayed for a long weekend. This is a very nice rental. The property owners are helpful and responsive. We would definitely stay again. Just note there is no dishwasher.

So peaceful & relaxing
This place is even better than the pictures! I was so surprised how beautiful the property is. Green rolling hills and the perfect amount of trees. Watched deer roam the property all day. Check in was super easy and Phoebe made me feel so comfortable. Hoping to book another trip in a few months.

Lovely Thanksgiving Stay
Extremely clean and well decorated. We especially appreciated how well stocked the kitchen is - we made a full thanksgiving dinner with ease here. A great place to stay to explore the surrounding area, or take some time to yourself.

Relaxing Get-Away
We enjoyed a relaxing get away from work, daily routine, and celebrated a much belated anniversary. The place was very clean, updated and was a good location. We saw many deers and quails on the property. The hosts were great. We were able to visit Apple Hill one day and on another we took a walk around the lake at the Sly Park Recreation Area. We will definitely be returning for a much longer stay.

Best of the Gold Country
This is an outstanding rental - spacious, well furnished, private and plenty of light. Clearly the owner put care and thought into this unit. The kitchen (unlike most rentals)was fully equipped with the same quality as your own kitchen would be. The furnishings are attractive and comfortable . Lastly the grounds are very nice.

We had a wonderful stay. The home is lovely with nice upgrades throughout. Lots of room in the living area, kitchen area and bedroom. Bed is very comfortable. It was very peaceful and private. We loved the Placerville area - enjoyed some wineries and restaurants. Overall a very nice trip.
