We had a wonderful week on the pontoon, making fires, and enjoying the cabin. Would definitely visit again.

There were 6 of us, all old friends from grad school for a reunion. What a glorious home in a beautiful location. The house was spacious and very well appointed. Everything we needed was there, especially the lake!!!! Pontoon and water toys were terrific. Especially loved a lake swim and rest on the lily pad. The towns of Gordon and Wascott are food deserts. No groceries and barely any restaurants. We tried Pogo’s restaurant but staff were rude and horrible so avoid it! Buckhorn was ok and Golden Chipmonk was goodish. Enjoyed Lucious Woods park in Solon Springs and Port Wing on Lake Superior. As wonderful as this home was, we recommend that the owner leave written info for driving the pontoon, shopping options, restaurants, close up instructions and use of the TV/DVR. There were 4 remotes but no instructions RE which to use. You’ll love this place.

Our family vacationed in the Gordon area for the first time in several years. This has always been our favorite Northwoods vacation spot and it did not disappoint. The cabin was great, clean and perfectly situated on Leader Lake. The fishing was “awesome” and my grandson caught a “hog” bass off the dock within 15 minutes of our arrival. We had great fishing every day and we loved having use of the pontoon boat as well as our own fishing boat. The deck was wonderful for quiet naps in the sun and coffee in the morning and for the first time in years we all watched movies together at night. It was a wonderful trip and we have already rebooked for next year.

The property managers were excellent. Quick responses. Beautiful place on a clear lake. Enjoyed fishing and canoeing. Will definitely be visiting again.

The cabin was very accommodating-plenty of space for everyone. Four comfortable bedrooms, ping pong table, kayak, paddle board-everything water-lovers could want. We really enjoyed it.

This charming home located in the North woods of Wisconsin is simply fantastic! The home is roomy, beautiful views from the multiple windows out to the lake, gorgeous woodwork without home, comfortable setting for our entire family, and kitchen was well equipped with all your needs! The only critique I can give is to have written institutions for using the boat, where to locate the gas for boat, and how to fill the gas for those who aren’t as familiar with how to operate/ gas up a pontoon boat. We would absolutely rebook again! VRBO owners are great to communicate with! Thank you Dan & Judy for renting your home to my family.

Swimming was great! Sand beach, almost no weeds. Very clear lake. Kayaks, canoe, pontoon, and all toys were used A LOT!!! Didn’t fish much, but our daughter caught a small bass. Dan was very responsive and pleasant. Even gave us tips as we packed our gear. The listing says limited Wi-Fi but actually it is unlimited which was nice. Very secluded, quiet, private lake. Ticks were prevalent in front of house from car to cabin - but not bad from cabin to lake. Mosquitos were not bad. But we all had some types of gnat bites or something like that. But insects were overall not too bothersome. They installed a small AC unit which was nice. And the basement keeps cool in the hot summer. It was upper 80s during out stay. Note: kids slept in the big patio room and they have shades in the windows which you can’t see from the photo but was nice for kids to sleep there and not get woken too early by the sun. Lots of card/board games and nice kitchen. Great place! Thanks Dan!

Enjoyed our week at this lakefront, lovely home nestled in the woods. It was a great escape but wish we could have caught bigger fish worth keeping.

This was our third stay, so obviously we love it. A perfect setting for our 3 generation family.

We had a great time at this cabin. Leader lake is crystal clear and has a lovely sandy bottom. Fishing is incredible, we caught fish with almost every single cast! lots of small blue gill but also a bass and northern. There isn't a public launch on this lake so it isn't over fished, nor does it have a lot of boats on it. The kids had a great time using the paddle board, lilly pad and canoe. Since the water level was low, you couldn't get over to bond lake with a boat but you could with a canoe/ kayak. That was fun to do. We loved hearing the loons on the water and each morning we had dear right outside the cabin. We also saw a huge owl in a near by tree. If you have a dog, I recommend bringing baby gates to keep your pup on the deck when you need to keep them confined. There are lots of chairs to use on the deck, including 2 zero gravity chairs which my mom and I loved! There is also a picnic table on the deck for outside dining. The cabin is nice, we had to use a lot of fans as it was quite hot during the day, but it cools down nicely at night. The kitchen is nice and equipped very well. We prepared almost every meal at the cabin. We used the crockpot to heat up dinners so we wouldn't heat up the cabin. My only suggestions is to perhaps update the beds in the lowest level. My hips were so sore that we ended up leaving a night early. My older parents had the upstairs bedrooms and those seemed fine and they stayed the whole week. I would also have the cleaning person check all the drawers in-between rentals. There was underwear in one of my dresser drawers. It's not the owners fault, but the cleaning person should be checking this. We created life long memories at this cabin with my kids and parents, and highley recommend it!

Perfect quiet location beautiful lake nice Sandy beach perfect for dogs and kids. Pontoon a little run down but good for fishing.

Our family had a great time at John and Judy’s cabin. The cabin is well equipped with everything you can possibly need! It was nice to get out on the lake with the pontoon. A good time was had by all!

Wonderful home on a perfect lake. Excellent fishing and boating. This was a very nice place for the entire family. The hosts ensured all details were covered. Very nice.

We rented the cabin for a week with my family (2 children) & parents. We had a fabulous time! Fishing was great- crappies, sunnys and bass. Bonfires each night and watched wildlife all day (tame deer, loons). Lounging by the lake or on the big deck overlooking the water. Lots of games- ping pong, badminton, bean bags! The hosts were exceptional & had excellent communication! They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed!! The only complaint was the mattresses could all be replaced- they all felt a little hard to our liking. Just bring beach towels and your set. They have pots/pans/crockpot/electric skillet, & they provide TP. There were also lots of fans so we stayed cool. Thanks so much, we would definitely stay again!

We were able to spend a week at this beautiful lake and home. The water was cool and very clean and we really enjoyed the use of the pontoon. Thanks for sharing your little slice of heaven with us. We will cherish the memories made.

This cabin fit our needs perfectly. We stayed with my wife, two kids (17 & 18) and my father and mother in-law. Beds were comfortable and plenty of seating for all 6 of us. The deck was a favorite of ours as it is large, has views of the lake and we blocked it off to corral the three dogs we had with us allowing us time to relax. The dock was great to fish off of and the beach area was sandy and perfect for swimming. We didn’t use the oven other than the first time we tried it and it took over 40 minutes to heat to 425. They have two charcoal grills there we used instead. The father in law brought his fishing boat so we primarily used that for fishing as the pontoon was a bit small for all 6 of us. 2 or 3 went fishing while the rest had a slow, relaxing cruise on the pontoon. We had unseasonably hot weather during our stay the first week of June (it was over 90 every day but our last). This made it a little more challenging to stay comfortable as there is no A/C, which we knew ahead of time, but there were plenty of fans to help. All in all, it was a good experience and we would go back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Leader Lake! Everything about it was exactly as we hoped - plenty of space for 6 adults, lots of fun toys which we put to good use-volleyball/badminton, ping pong, kayak, canoe, paddle board, pontoon-could not have asked for more. The house was clean and comfortable, and owners very responsive, not that we needed anything! The lake was exceptionally clean and so quiet-we swam and paddled daily and were often the only ones in the lake. A gem!

Nature was amazing. We wanted to stay forever. Not lying, we actually tried to stay another night but there was a reservation coming in the next day. The Loons on the lake were mesmerizing, the sunsets like a postcard, the fishing superb and surroundings so peaceful it actually changed us. I was a little worried when we walked in and realized there was no air conditioning (something my husband failed to mention) but was pleasantly surprised that we didn’t need it. The lake is pristine and the oversized aqua float was perfect on our only truly hot day. We spent most of the time fishing and boating so the air was not an issue. The covering from the trees also made it not so bad. The porch.....was perfect for everything from morning coffee to evening yoga. If you book, bring charcoal for the grill. I think the sectional couch could use a Good cleaning or replacement. I would go with a vinyl or easily cleanable couch. But it was nothing a good diffuser and some essential oils couldn’t handle. Overall the stay ended up being perfect....absolutely perfect.

Stayed with our four kids for a week. Enjoyed swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing. Small sandy beach great for walking access to water/swimming area. Well equipped cabin was clean, comfortable, and cozy.

What a wonderful week for grandma, grandpa, two daughters and their spouses, two young (4 & 6) grandchildren and two dogs! The cabin worked out well for us-the porch was a terrific 4th bedroom for the kids. The beach was perfect for playing in the sand and the water was clear. The setting in the pines with the deck overlooking the lake was great. It also was a good place for the dogs to be to dry off before coming in the house. We used portable fences at both ends to keep them in. No AC, but lots of fans and refreshing breezes. Delightful!! Judy, the owner, checked in on us a few times which was so thoughtful. Lots of water toys which were fun. We’re used to family cabins and this was wonderful. We recommend this for family get togethers.

We loved our stay and had a great time! I did take the rating down a notch for cleanliness. The towels and some sheets should be replaced. And there was food left in the fridge. But the cabin overall is nice and the land and lake are perfect!

Very nice property. The pontoon was great! The view and the lake were beautiful. Judy was very kind and helpful. She was very easy to het ahold of before and during the stay. We would recommend this property for a relaxing family get together.

This place met the needs of our 3 generation family perfectly. Quiet lake with a sandy bottom for the kids, pontoon rides, fishing, canoe rides, kayaks and loons! A perfect place to unplug.

We had a wonderful time, house was comfortable, the lake and beach were perfect clean clear water! Pontoon worked well a little worn but we still cruised around the lake to beautiful sunsets! Fishing is truly great right off the pier! Caught some nice bass and panfish! We would definitely rent again!

Let me start by saying, I am a little reluctant to write this review as others might read and the house won't be available next year. We were looking for a quiet week in the Northwoods on a sandy bottom lake for reading books and playing in the water, and this property was perfect. The kitchen has all the essentials; we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the pots, skillets etc. as we cooked every meal. The sleeping arrangements were perfect for six adults, sheets, towels, pillows were fresh and the queen beds very comfortable. The bathrooms were new and well lighted, with plenty of hot water. For our family, the best part was being outdoors. From a wrap around deck with table and chairs facing the lake for meals to a beautiful fire pit (complete with wood) for evening sing-a-longs, we started and ended our days laughing. In between we were on the waterfront, swimming, lounging on the "lily pad", fishing or enjoying the pontoon boat, kayak, paddle board and canoe. The best part of the 160 acre lake is that it had minimal boat traffic and felt very private. Often we were the only boaters on the lake. It was a great vacation!

Beautiful lake home! We were worried about the slope down to the lake was going to be very steep however the description in the HomeAway of a gentle slope was spot on! The beach was large with a sand bottom. Pontoon was well kept as well as the home. It was a hot week could have used another refrigerator for our beverages or electric cooler ice was an issue had to go into town several times to get ice.

Very peaceful setting for this property. The home is clean and well maintained. The home was perfect for our family to disconnect and spend time together. The wrap-around deck was perfect for morning coffee and down time throughout the day. Daily eagle, loon and otter sightings were very enjoyable. The lake seldom has more that 2 or 3 boats on it at one time.
