This roomy apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay: a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. There is no AC, but none was needed (just kept the windows open and used a fan in the bedroom at night). Everything was clean when we arrived. Our host was welcoming and kind. We chose this location because it was within 10 minutes to a conference that one of us was attending in Kea'au.

We had a short stay due to medical on Hilo side. Our hosts were fantastic. The place is clean plenty of room, and we thoroughly enjoyed their surroundings. Close to grocery stores, hospital and restaurants. We will definitely stay there again when we have to go to the Hilo side from Kona.

We enjoyed staying at this property. There was plenty of space, all the amenities we needed in the kitchen, a washer and dryer that worked well, and the owners were easy to communicate with. We had to change our dates and they were quick to respond and very flexible with us. Note that if you want a really quiet location it’s better to go with a hotel that has a/c. Most houses don’t and so you keep windows open for the cool breeze. Open window means the singing frogs at night and bird and neighborhood dogs in the morning. We don’t mind all those noises though. It’s part of the Hawaiian experience.

We had a great time staying at your VRBO! It was cozy, clean, and close to everything that we wanted to visit. We would love to come back and visit someday!

We stayed for a week while visiting the university and the island. This two-bedroom apartment suited all our needs, plus Ingrid and her husband were gracious hosts. We were offered fresh fruit from their backyard and they were outgoing, friendly and responsive. They even offered advice on things to do around the island and educated us on island flora & fauna. The apartment was well stocked with spices, oils, condiments, pots/pans, most bathroom supplies, plenty of towels and even beach towels. The full-sized washer/dryer was a bonus. The couches, chairs, and beds were very comfortable with plenty of closet space. There is plenty of light during the day, but in the evening the lighting is minimal (although Ingrid brought in a lamp since the kitchen lights quit working and she's waiting for a repairman.) It's good to note that the owners live on the property, above the apartment so there is normal family noises. Periodically during the day and evening, you can hear people walking above, and the stairs to their home are located just outside the second bedroom windows. There are also two, outdoor dogs that bark occasionally. I'm a light sleeper so slept with earplugs, which worked great and I slept very well. My spouse and kids didn't have a problem. The good part is that since they live on the property, if we needed anything it was taken care of right away. Bottom line - We will definitely stay here again!

This vrbo has the feel of a home away from home. Full kitchen, cozy living, dining, large bathroom, comfortable bedrooms, and a plethora of amenities! Great for a family trip. Ingrid was ao welcoming and always available on site if ever we had any questions. Thank you again!

Checking in very late was no problem. Ingrid was waiting and familiarized me with the well equipped apartment. I was extremely comfortable there. Great location, nice clean kitchen and comfy beds. Fantastic! The apartment was clean and well stocked. This is the first time using Vrbo and it was a good experience. I will stay there again as the neighborhood was nice and centrally located. The owner (Ingrid) met me and was very gracious and warm. I wish I could have stayed longer. I will definitely stay there again. I highly recommend the apartment. It is well located and close to everywhere I wanted to go. Mahalo nui loa and Aloha!

Great little 2 bedroom apt under the owner's apartment. It was clean. Kitchen was well stocked and had oil, spices and condiments. Easy to get to national park and around Hilo and the island from this location. Would recommend for families.

Unfortunately these things happen and Ingrid was very apologetic about it. Since our next rental would have one, this was not an issue for us. We went for a few walks and found the neighbourhood to be very safe. The location is great and was a good base for us when visiting the volcano, the zoo, the latest lava flows, the beaches, etc.

We have stayed with Ingrid and Amon in the past and it is always a pleasure. The kitchen is well stocked, beds and furniture were very comfortable. Our hosts were right on the property so if we needed anything it was taken care of or answered right away. They made us feel like family!! Windows can be left open 24/7 to take advantage of any breeze and there are also plenty of fans if necessary. We always check to see if their apartment or studio is available when travelling to Hawaii!! We highly recomment them!!

Nice place, nice owners, convenient.

A wonderful place that is in a great neighborhood. Our hosts live upstairs and they are the nicest people, very warm and accommodating. We learned about Hawaiian history, culture and the many types of plants and trees on the island from them. They will interact with you as much as you would like. This place has everything you will need. It is just like walking into your own home. There were condiments, coffee - anything and everything you would need in the kitchen. The bathroom has soap, shampoo, first aid kit, hairdryer. They have truly thought of everything you would need. Our unit did not have a patio but we were able to use their other units deck and also their backyard. We definitely recommend this place and we look forward to returning in the future. Very clean and quiet. We would go back! Very centrally located. Close to waterfalls and the ocean.

Warm welcome and always there to help. Clean, with a home feeling. Close to a lot of shops and attractions, farmers Market on Wednesdays was a hit. Great host with lovely garden.
