The quaint little apartment was just a few minutes walk to the center of the hustle and bustle of Friday Harbor. Absolutely adorable. Only suggestion I would have is more facilities to cook. There was only a microwave. A stove, oven, would make a massive improvement and make the place perfect.

Great location, but otherwise not great. Tiny bed and bath, my child used the pull out so no other place to sit. One towel per person for 4 days, Worlds tiniest tv placed far away with no instructions. Nice porch, but uncomfortable chairs. It was clean, but not very comfortable or special in any way. Clearly very little effort put into this unit.

We stayed here and we liked the proximity to all the things in town. One stayed in the bed and the other on the couch. It was comfortable! We didn’t spend much time here because we were busy exploring!

After arriving at Friday Harbor by ferry it was a pleasant and easy walk to the Acanthus Suites. Beautiful old house of the craftsman style, historic too. We left our bags there and walked down to the wharf and had dinner. It was delicious and the Washington state wines were excellent, the views, tremendous!When we got back to the VRBO we turned in for the night. Very early, I mean very early the next morning a trash truck drove into our backyard, under our bedroom window and emptied 3, yes 3 dumpsters. It jarred us awake. We stumbled into the kitchen to make coffee and to our surprise and consternation there was no coffee, sugar or nondairy creamer!This is a charming house and neighborhood, but the unit is not ready for prime time yet! Not up to VRBO standards. Don’t stay here if you know what’s good for you. One last comment. The unit is advertised on the VRBO web site as being $62 per night but after all the extra fees was well over $200 per night.We stayed two nights and paid $400 plus! Yes! $400 and no coffee!We stayed and paid but will never do it again. Hiway robbery is more like it. Stay far, far away!

This was by far the best place I’ve stayed in. Very nice kitchen to cook those gourmet meals in, was very well supplied. Very comfortable home. The driveway is a little tight and steep but worth the extra effort to turn around. This place is quiet and well cared for.

Needed a place close to the marina at a reasonable price. Yep. Wanted a kitchenette. Check. The bed was not great and the shower needs some maintenance. A new bed and some shower wall repair would make this unit much better. (Shower worked fine, but the wall needs repair.). Unit was clean and everything worked, so it was ok for us.

Pretty unpleasant experience. Read other reviews carefully before booking, I did not...
No where comfy to sit and read (the couch is abysmal), sleeper sofa is unbearable, staring at 3 dumpsters in the driveway every time you look out any window or have coffee on the porch, kitchenette is a glorified closet, other tenants park right under your window with zero regard they are practically in your bedroom (even when asked), had to sit in our foldable camp chairs on the porch and even in the living space as furniture is so uncomfortable, bedding frame and mattress boxes stored on our porch which is very small (really???!)
Booked 5 nights, could only bear it for 3. Out $500
Highlight? The woman who cleans the property, she was a delight to chat with:) And the San Juans never disappoint!

The place was easy to walk from and was clean and large enough for two. The biggest drawbacks for us were the beds. The main bed was way too bouncy for us and the sofa bed was not comfortable. Other than that it was fine. we would suggest you add a simple shelf in the bathroom to provide more space to hold items.

I stayed at this property while I spend a few days in Friday Harbor. It was in the back of a house that has a few other rentals on the same property. It was extremely convenient location to downtown Friday Harbor. Easy walk distance to all the shops/restaurants. I had no issues, bed was comfy and had what I needed. Only suggestion would be to add a bathroom curtain :)

Overall very nice, but the gate before the door drags and needs adjustment. The shower needs some cosmetic updating. And it would be nice to have a bathmat and a TV in the bedroom.

We had a nice weekend in Friday Harbor and the location of the property can not be beat. For the price, this is an excellent, pet friendly spot. My only feedback is that the living space is not comfortable for relaxing (small love seat or corner bench) and I’d recommend a different set up in that room.

Good stay, easy access to town and Ferry. Unit did not have a stove top for cooking which was disappointing. I suggest that it is clarified in the listing as many would think it is included in "Kitchenette"

We loved the place but had a little problem finding our room it was in the back but no light by the porch hard to see our way around at dark and I hope they get a new shower 🚿 head but everything else was great we will be back If you want a nice place to stay for a great price this is for you and the bed is amazing

This apartment worked out perfectly for our group of three. We had plenty of space and we were within walking distance to the town of Friday Harbor for restaurants and shops. We also walked down to our whale watching excursion. The place was clean and well stocked.

This was the perfect property! I could get up each morning and walk to town very easily and enjoy the harbor and the shops. My daughter and her family stayed in a different property but they were much more impressed with mine! I had never been to Friday Harbour and found it to be a lovely vacation!

Perfect Location for Traveling w/ Dogs
On the edge of downtown so super close to restaurants, shops, and everything else you could need but also at start of residential area so nice and quiet. Traveling with my dog and was able to utilize the closed in porch to give her a little more room. There is also a nice size yard to hang out in and walk her around. Friday Harbor is super dog friendly so she was welcome in all the shops and restaurants. Highly recommend this place and Friday Harbor.

If place is a little small but the location was great and we could walk to everything. I would recommend this location to others.

Uncomfortable
Our only complaint was that the couch and bed were very uncomfortable and moreover, there is no other place to sit except bench at table. The couch is very small and may I say, almost like a toy.
The shower was too small for someone of adult size and the shower head impossible to adjust in anyway.
Otherwise it was ok.

Great access to quaint downtown shops and restaurants
The location was great and the place was just enough for two friends. Here are our suggestions: needs new shower head, not adequate. Pull out bed could use a topper, it was too thin. But we had a really nice time visiting friends in the area. Thank you for a nice stay.

Great stay on San Juan Island
Great but small 1 bedroom stay a couple streets off the main drag in Friday Harbor. Was very easy to check in and allow for our adventuring around the San Juan Islands. Very happy they are dog friendly. Overall, the place met our needs, was comfortable, and was affordable.
My only qualms are the "quaint" kitchenette, which did not have anything other than a microwave and a toaster to cook with. Additionally, there is signage around the home as well as scattered throughout the many email communications I received with unnecessarily petty threats for needless fees that would be assessed to us if we misplaced dishes in the other part of the house, left our dog alone and it barked, or tried to check in early or check out late. I understand they have a business to run, and we didn't personally run in to any issues being assessed with any of these fees, but it ruins some of the charm of the island getaway when there is signage next to the sink threatening you with a $100 charge for this or for that.
Otherwise, this was a great place for us and our dog to stay while kayaking around the San Juan Islands.

The apartment was very clean and nice. Loved that we had a porch and could shut the gate. The location was fantastic and the yard was great for the dogs. We have a couple of suggestions: get a bigger refrigerator (the one there is ridiculously small for anyone who brings food with them), a queen bed in the bedroom would be lovely, and the light in the kitchen could be improved. We would recommend this rental for sure.

So uncomfortable
We stayed in the Fisherman apartment at the back of the main house at Acanthus Suites. The location was great. I had my small dog and this room had a deck with a gate. Awesome. The problem was there was no comfortable place to relax inside. The only seating was a wooden banquet dining set up with thin cushions and a tiny love seat. So unless you want to lay in the bedroom (where there is no tv) you have these uncomfortable seating options. The loveseat folds out with a 1.5" thick mattress. Not even suitable for a child let alone an adult so my guest was sleep deprived for 4 days. I knew that this unit was going to be bare bones as far as amenities went but I was not prepared for the level of discomfort we endured. Also do not assume much if anything will be provided. The shower dispenser was full and we found a salt and pepper shaker but nothing else. You won't really be able to cook anything. Just know what to expect. If I ever return I will rent someplace where I will actually be able to relax.

This was the best vacation stay, I have ever had . I was on my vacation with my 2 pups and the accommodations were perfect and very comfy. So close to town, an easy walk . I stayed for six nights and didn’t experience any issues. Perfect spot to stay if you are traveling with dogs.
