Great views and very clean. 3rd bedroom is definitely accommodating for smaller kids. We brought an air mattress in order to accommodate our family. Really sleeps 8 comfortably.

We really enjoyed our stay! Beautiful place, perfect location. In early March we had the beach almost entirely to ourselves. Far enough out to be quiet but very easy drive to restaurants, activities. Plenty of space for a family of 6 (we ended up not even using one bedroom). Kids loved the playground and basketball court. Bringing our own linens wasn’t super convenient as we were driving from the Midwest, and not staying long enough to justify paying for a linen service. It was not a big deal, but a few things I didn’t consider packing were things like bath mats and enough hand towels for the kitchen. Host quickly replied when we had a question. Would definitely stay again.

The house was very nice. The reverse floor plan allowed for unobstructed views of the bay behind Topsail Island while reading or eating. The King size bed was comfortable and everything worked as it should. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The house has an elevator that we used for freight only. As the house has three levels, there are alot of steps.

My wife and I came here to decompress for a few days after the Christmas holiday. This was our first stay here. The house was in a quiet gated community. And since this was between the holidays, it was serenely quiet. The house is right on the Intracoastal Waterway with breathtaking views westward over the water. In fact, we witnessed a spectacular sunset on of the nights (one of the advantages of facing west versus east). The house was spotless and had an elevator, which made our move-in/move-out much easier. The house was larger than we expected, which was a plus, with a big, roomy kitchen. The only caveat would to be prepared to either bring your own (full) propane tank if you plan to use the outdoor grill. The property comes with a tank and grill, but there's no guaranty that previous renters haven't emptied it before the hosts can refill it. Otherwise, a perfect quiet get-a-way during the between-the-holidays-period.

The location was amazing. House was very comfortable, loved all the décor. Kitchen was amazing when I had to cook and feed 9 adults for Christmas. We will definitely book this property again. Even with the huge storm on Sunday the property was safe and sound. The listing agent was very prompt with answering questions and concerns.

The house was very nice and in good condition. The views were incredible! Our biggest issue was that the on-line description and pictures did not match what we found when we arrived. The description and pictures now appear to have been updated to the correct number of bedrooms but the bathrooms listed are still incorrect. Be aware there are only 3 bedrooms with 2 full baths and 1 half bath. There is a pull out queen bed in the couch. Bedroom 1 has a king and private bath. Bedroom 2 has a Queen. Bedroom 3 has a double with a twin bunk and a double mattress on the floor under the bunk bed. When that double mattress is pulled out, you cannot exit the room without walking over the double mattress on the floor. This was less than ideal for our group of adult women. 2 full baths was also a disappointment with 7 women in the party. It appears in the listing that the outdoor shower and the half bath are being counted as a full bathroom. Read the full description carefully. Finally parking 3 SUVs in the provided area was a real challenge. Perhaps smaller cars would fit okay but larger anything larger will need to be backed out before people can get into the vehicle on both sides. Check-in wasn't as smooth as expected. I received an email from the property manager with a link to the gate and house codes, but that link just led to the VRBO listing. The owners were very responsive when I reached out to them so it wasn't a problem.

Great location with a wonderful view of the sound. Having access to a pool is a good perk when we wanted a break from the beach. Overall we had a fantastic time.

We rented both connected townhouses for 2 families of 4 and 1 grandparent. Very clean property with all the amenities. Owners were very responsive to a couple of minor issues. Highly recommend!

Beautiful views, but several things could be improved. First the ad did not specify that renter has to bring basically everything with them. No towels, linens, etc. are provided so you will be packing a lot. The dishes in the cabinets still had food stuck to them that we had to rewash. Also, I did not realize this but you can not see your boat at yhe day dock from the condo which was not ideal for me. There were several light bulbs out. The last thing that I was not thrilled with was that a owner created contract was sent over shortly before stay was set to begin and required to be signed in order to stay there. This contract contained some language which I was not real comfortable with but it was too late to book something else.

Beautifully situated on the end of the canal overlooking the sound. Quiet, clean, perfect set up for families hosting big dinners and playing board games. We kayaked, jet-skied, rented electric bikes, played mini-golf, and hunted sharks teeth at the beach. We will be back!

We had girls family gathering and it was a blast!

This property was beautiful and easy to access as well as secure. We had so much fun. We saw the dolphins while drinking our morning coffee from the back deck. We highly recommend this property. Loved every second~ Can't wait to come back!

We always vacation oceanfront but we are so happy to have chosen the Sound view of Topsail Beach this time and can hardly contain our excitement. This duplex is perfectly positioned for a breathtaking view of water, marshland, boat activity and colorful sunsets. The elevator made delivery and our move out of belongings so easy. "How Sweet The Sound" was the icing on the cake, how lovely. We also found many restaurants we enjoyed and must mention that beach time was relaxing as was the fishing charter with "Dialed-in" not to mention my husband fished on the property almost every waking moment. We are already booked for next year. Thank you to our hosts.

Beautiful, well appointed home in Topsail. Easy beach access and lovely sound views. Owners were lovely to work with as well. We hope to come back!

In all my rentals, I've never had to bring sheets and blankets. You would think we would have been provided with at least a hotel size soap and shampoo.

We fell in love with Topsail about 10 years ago when we lived in Jacksonville. We decided to comeback and visit with our children and our best friends. How Sweet The Sound was absolutely perfect for us. 2 minutes to the beach and beautiful views of the sound. We saw dolphins from our balcony everyday! We will definitely be back!

The property was beautiful. The only complaint is the tv in the smaller bedroom didn't work. Left message for the contact person but never heard back. Location was great.

Great views, well appointed home and privacy!

My family and friends stayed at How Sweet the Sound and had a lovely break. We had never stayed in the area and enjoyed the quieter off season visit. Weather was perfect and the views are amazing. Our party of 8 (for 4 of our 10 days) made the bed situation work. Thank goodness for the extra mattress kept downstairs as we added it on top of the pull out and it was very comfortable for the couple who shared that bed. The other beds were very comfortable too. 😊 I would recommend staying here…great location, views and accommodations.

This was by far the nicest place I’ve ever stayed in on a beach vacation. The home was spotless! There is a kitchen to die for! All the bedrooms were a great size. The best amenity was the elevator! With bad knees that was a major plus! The views were just fabulous. It was so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the pool and the beach. Also the delightful nearby shops and restaurants. We enjoyed a day trip to the aquarium in Wilmington as well as touring Ft Davis. The locals were so nice and made great recommendations on eateries and fun shops! Truly the best beach vacation EVER! Can’t wait to return soon! Thanks to Alana and Danny for quick replies to emails. Very professional and easy to work with!

Could not have been better! My daughter came with me back to Queens Grant where my mother had a place for 20 years! Everything was as wonderful as we remembered. Well cared for and the townhome was lovely, spacious, clean and well equipped with everything to make our stay comfortable. Hope to see you next year!!

This house was amazing. We saw dolphins multiple times a day in the sound. It only took a few minutes to walk to the beach. The double decks made it nice for everyone to get some peace and quiet. The elevator was definitely helpful for moving luggage and groceries. The owners were very quick to respond to messages. My only small complaint was the fact that we had to bring toilet paper, hand soap, garbage bags, towels, and bedding. It was more than worth it though for the fantastic house and location.

How Sweet the Sound is a beautiful home in a perfect location! We fished every day and caught one of every species we could think of (except reds). All total, we caught about 12 different types of fish. The home is beautifully furnished and comfortable. The elevator was a great help for luggage and groceries. Quick walk to the beach and pool were just right. Overall we loved it and will be back again soon.

The sunsets on the deck were amazing. We always tried to rush back so we could watch each night. The family room and kitchen areas were so comfortable, beautiful and relaxing. The quick walk to the beach and the location on the sound was perfect. Thank you!

Rental and location were amazing. Kids had plenty to keep them busy for the entire week. Very relaxing for the adults. We enjoyed visiting the shops and restaurants. Would love to come back in the future!

House is beautiful, great views of the sound, owners are the best. Fishermen in party loved the dock on the sound. Pool is large and clean. Beach is a short walk and the boys stayed in the ocean all day. Will be returning
