Comfortable property. Host was very accessible and made sure everything was as expected.

Nice quiet location. Beautiful views of the trees and lake from each room of the house. Very clean home. Quiet retreat, but with quick access to stores and restaurants. We grilled on the porch most every day. We were there for a month, and I did not tire of the view. Would definitely stay again. The owner was very responsive whenever I needed a question answered.

The lake house is in a perfect location, directly in front of the lake, with beautiful views off the dock. It’s a cozy cabin-type house that was perfect for my husband and I. Everything was clean and as described. Shops and restaurants and local amenities are within a short driving distance. We both are busy professionals and this was just to get away we needed. Michael was fantastic as a host. Communicating with us, responding immediately, recommending local stuff, and he was so gracious about us bringing our cats. We wanted to shorten our visit by 2 days, and he spent time on VRBO trying to make that happen for us. We consider his service to be over and above! We definitely recommend him and his place. Five stars all the way!

The house was great and had everything we needed. The sunfish was a nice bonus. First week of August was very quiet on this lake.

I have never stayed in a vacation rental home that I didn't have to pack half of my house to take with me. I was blown away when the owner said "bring a tooth brush and clothes". This place was amazing and the easiet vacation to prepare and pack for. Beautfil home, quite location. Close to convience and grocery stores. Provides books, movies, bed linens, towels, wash cloths, dishes, kayaks, fire pit, rocking chairs on the dock,,, too much to list. Gental slope to the dock. Quite cove on quite part of the lake. Just a wonderful experience and a good, easy week of relaxation --- exactly what this family needed. Thank you Michael

We rented this space for 12 days as a short term rental during a relocation. The location is amazing, right on Lake Norman with a beautiful dock for fishing or Launching one of the provided Kayaks in for a float. The quiet street with a small farm down the way makes evening walks fun and entertaining to visit with the cows and horses. The home is so cool, a custom designed space optimizing views of the surrounding beauty with cool finishes throughout. This place was built with love and is so enjoyable to enjoy it. We really enjoyed staying in the upstairs loft and having the kids in the basement bunk room. The space was really nice for the 3 of them to enjoy as 'thier' space and hang out. The kitchen was well stocked and the kitchen table and table under the covered deck were perfect for family meals. The hosts are amazing. Communication was excellent leading up to and during the stay. It was obvious they wanted to make sure our family of 5 had a great experience and they definitely succeeded. We can't wait to come back to Lake Norman and rent with them again.

Rented lake house for February 2022. Nice property for small group. Open concept plan with full basement, lots of light, and good views of lake from every floor. We had two minor issues which Mike remedied via same-day delivery Amazon order. Ikea convection oven was a bit tricky to master - good idea to read the instructions twice; converting Fahrenheit cooking temp to Celcius was easy with google. Sitting out on the deck, or on the dock, was a treat compared to a cold Midwestern winter day at home. Definitely will be back on Lake Norman the future.

We went there to see snow however Gif had other plans. The home was beautiful the ow we an absolute delight to work with and the kids had a ball fishing. Highly recommend.

Our family had an incredible week stay at Michael's home. The home itself is a beautiful mix of modern/contemporary and cabin/lake house! You can even see the cove from the master shower. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed and wanted for a relaxing, fun week. We spent a lot of time on the water exploring in the kayaks and paddle boards. We rented a boat for a couple days from the marina 2 minutes across the cove. Safe Harbor Marina had the best rental prices on the lake and it was easy to pull the boat up to the house dock to park overnight or refill our coolers with snacks! Michael also had a tube to pull behind the boat that my kids loved. The side of the lake was very quiet when we were there (school just started in the area) but close to restaurants, grocery stores and the city if you wanted to get out. We had a rainy day but the games, movies, books and covered porch were perfect for hanging out. There was plenty of space for a couple teens to spread out. The dock was a great location to look at stars, read a book or start off exploring the lake and coves nearby. Michael was super quick to get back with us when we had any questions. They went above and beyond providing linens, paper products, propane for the grill, ice, water toys, and even having some beer and pizzas on hand for our arrival! We plan to be back again soon.

Could not have asked for a better location for a quiet family vacation. The house is situated on a lovely road country road and the bay is perfect for kids to swim in. We had access to a plethora of kayaks, inflatables and a paddle board. Michael was a super helpful host and was willing to go above and beyond to accommodate us. Hopefully we will be back soon, I was very sad to leave.

Let me start by saying, the craftsmanship of the inside of the home is beautiful. I loved the rustic/industrial look & feel. The use of old refurbished doors ties it all together. There are stunning views of the lake from the loft. And the abundance of windows allows for the natural light to come in throughout the home. An hour before our arrival Mike contacted us to let us know that the house had been struck by lightning a month and a half ago. He advised only the left side of the stove was currently working,the main entrance door had an issue with the lock and that we could not use the electricity at the dock since it had not been inspected. Upon arrival I felt that the pictures were a little deceiving. If I could have received a refund, I would have left that night. The cottage is not as big as the pictures represent, I felt the outside was not kept up as well as it could be. The kayaks mentioned were for kids and the grill was a little table top Weber grill that looked as though it had never been cleaned. I contacted the host in regards & he brought us 2 adult kayaks, a Coleman stand up grill and bug spray. We also found that the bedding was dirty & woman's clothing in the drawers that were we to dispose of. The 1st evening we found water leaking out of the HVAC system on bottom l Floor. We notified Mike & he said it was due to the humidity in the house. The motion sensor lights on the porch flicker off and on constantly with the sensor being covered by a black rubber glove. There was no ice/ice trays. The water had subsided in the basement but the pan was still full. The boys enjoyed the kayaks and did some fishing but with no yard to throw a baseball/football, chips golf balls, kick the soccer ball or swim (the water was fifthy with trash washing up in the cove), we decided that my parents rental across the lake was a better choice for our teenage boys, so they stayed with them for the week. They were only 25 minutes away but we didn't get spend as much time with them as we could have. We tried to find another rental but all were booked. The TV was difficult to figure out with very limited channels. The blinds are similar to a post it noted and just fell off the doors as well as the "yard" has old boats just sitting in it, covered with leaves. By the end of the week water started to leak again from under the door where we continued to soak up with towels. Mike was notified. My first VRBO experience was not what I imagined.

This was our second year in a row staying at Michael’s house on Lake Norman. We booked in 2020 because it seemed like the perfect vacation for COVID. We loved it so much that we booked again in 2021. We have fallen in love with the lake and we love staying at Michael’s cottage. It’s the perfect mix of cabin in the woods meets house on the lake. The cove it is located on is peaceful and quiet. The wooded lot provides shade so you’re not baking in the sun all day. The porch is the perfect place to relax at the beginning and ending of your day. Our kids (ages 13 and 10) loved having the lower level all to themselves. Amenities are great, including a canoe, standup paddleboard, and kayaks to take out on the lake. Michael is an excellent host – friendly, great communication and responsiveness. Highly recommended all around! We will be back!

Enjoyed our stay.

House is pleasant and cozy. Loved the wooden walls and ceilings, as a woodworker myself. Kitchen appliances didn't all work: no ice maker, only 2 stove burners working; oven confusing. Door handle not working well; hard to use. One of the sinks in the master bathroom was clogged. Cleaners did only a fair job; used bandaids on floor in master bath; kitchen cabinets and vent hood greasy.
