Property was great. Close to everything in Avila by walking,and only minutes away from SLO or Pismo Beach by car. We toured the entire central coast during our month long stay. From the elephant seals near San Simeon, wineries around Paso Robles and south to areas around Santa Maria.

This condo was the perfect place for our family of 4. Our only two issues were some ants in the downstairs/main bathroom, as well as that shower head having several holes blocked due to calcification/rust. The garage had several beach chairs, an umbrella, and sand toys.

We enjoyed the property very much due to its location. The rooms were comfortable and clean. However, carpets had some stains and walls had chipped paint spots due to wear. Floors in living room had extensive scratches and marks. The condo needs to be inspected as some of the windows in the top floor, kitchen/living room area, are broken and due not open. We could not keep this area cool, as the room faces south & west exposure. Otherwise, the place has all the amenities that are needed to enjoy the stay.

The unit looked as pictured on VRBO. Lots of space for our family of four. It would easily and comfortably accommodate 2 more people. The location is great. I did not find it to be too busy or noisy at all. Very short walking distance to shops and restaurants. Overall, we loved it and would definitely book again.

1) The locks into the house are very hard to open. Both door locks need at least some graphite to loosen them up. I was afraid the key would break off in one of the locks and left the garage door unlocked all the time.
2) The vertical blinds sorely need replacement. Three of the ones in the main bedroom have broken off. We had to prop them in the open slots and use towels to help keep the outside lights out so we could sleep. The others are twisted, bent and don't provide privacy.
3. One of the chairs in the dining room is broken with a leg that is about to fall off. And yet, it was tucked under the table with no indication that it was unsafe to use. It almost collapsed when I sat on it. We put a note on it and set it aside.
4. The drain in the downstairs shower is clogged. (Not fun showering while standing in a puddle of drain water.)
5. The ceiling fan in the upstairs bedroom doesn't work (although the others do and floor fans were provided).
6. We couldn't figure out how to get the oven above 350 degrees as it is confusing to use. Some instructions would help.
7. Throughout the two weeks we were there, ants continued to show up in the upstairs bathroom, but they never attacked in mass.
If we were to be assured that all (or at least most) of the items mentioned above have been taken care of, we would consider staying there on a future visit to Avila.

It is showing wear and tear from careless users: the vertical blinds have broken, torn or missing slats and are barely operable, the shower needs new caulking and tile grout cleaning, one (only used one bed) of the beds needs to be replaced, the dining table needs the screws to be tightened up (shifts side to side), the tvs need to have universal remotes, some pans and dishes were dirty when we arrived, blow dryer is old and ineffective, none of the door stops had rubber ends on them and all the doors have holes in them from them, door knob to garage needs attention, the bamboo floors are heavily scratched, although a broom was available, a dust pan would have been nice!

This property needs so much help that I couldn’t leave my entire review here. The property manager shows little to no care for the property. There were other guests in this complex that had the same problems we had in our unit. No AC because it’s a beach town. That’s fine, but the windows have to work! Half of the windows did not open because they were in such bad condition. The box/standing fans were totally covered in filth! And we had to use them because it was so hot. The blinds were broken and didn’t keep light out or provide privacy when we were changing. The bed room door wouldn’t stay closed. The glass dining room table was not put together well and wobbled when you used it. The door knob for the garage door just spins in your hand. The front door doesn’t lock properly. The bushes on the patio are over grown. When we reached out to the property manager, they didn’t give us the time of day. I do not advise staying here!

This worked great thanks to the two sleeper sofas in the living room. The unit looked new, was well stocked and served our needs perfectly as we came into town to ride the Giro Della Costa Centrale. Some small complaints were brought to managements attention upon key drop off, but nothing major. A very comfortable place to stay.

The one thing I'd like to see changed is having to pick up and return keys in Pismo Beach, seven miles away. There are more convenient ways to handle that, that would also allow the property management firm to ensure they get everything back. We had a few one-time problems, which I assume will be resolved for future renters. Unfortunately, the dishwasher didn't work, which we reported. These things happen. Because some dishes were dirty, it was likely that was the case before we got there. Perhaps the previous renters didn't notice. At first, we thought a few dishes might've gotten carelessly hand washed. Also, the Wi-Fi didn't work, which we reported at check-out.

You do need to drive to Pismo Beach to pick up and drop off tbe keys. Not too much of an inconvenience, there is a wonderful grocery store to stock up on your food and incidentals. Also had a little chaise/day bed that our toddler son slept on. Upstairs living room/dining room/kitchen area was open and inviting with a fireplace that actually warmed the room. Upstairs bedroom was also a nice size. So nice to be able to to walk the couple blocks into town and to the beach and back throughout the day and also have a lot more space than a hotel room. We loved the wine tasting rooms in town, Custom House was yummy, and Doc Burnsteins ice cream at the Hula Hut. Definitely would stay here again.
